Expedition 33: How to defeat Glissando?
Glissando is a huge maggot blocking your way through Sirene. On this page of the guide we have written out how to find it, how to defeat it and what are the rewards for defeating it.
Glissando is the eighth mandatory boss in Expedition 33, blocking your way to the second Axon. On this guide page, we describe where to find the boss, what their weak points are and what they're vulnerable to, as well as what the rewards are for winning the encounter.
Where is Glissando?
Glissando will stand in your way near the end of the Sirene region. The boss is waiting for you right after reaching the Crumbling Path flag. The boss is mandatory and fighting it is required to make progress in the game - it blocks the only passage leading to the end of the region and its main boss.
Glissando's attacks
- Summoning Ballets - Glissando summons dancers attacking the entire team three times. You have to jump three times when the full jump symbol appears.
- Head strike - Glissando rises above the expedition and strikes the entire team twice with its head. You have to sense the right moment to parry or dodge when you hear a characteristic sound.
- Enchantment - Glissando casts a spell that will enchant one member of the team. The spell is very delayed and consists of three rhythmic bursts. Only the third explosion will hit you, so listen for the first two explosions and parry the third one accordingly. If you let yourself be enchanted, a weak point will appear on the boss's tail. Shoot it to remove the spell from the affected team member.
- Tail strike - Glissando performs a combo of three tail strikes. Listen to the boss - before the first two blows, you will hear the sound of air being cut, and a sharp, metallic noise before the third one.
- Devouring - Glissando devours a team member, removing them from the battlefield. This attack cannot be dodged. To retrieve a team member, you must defeat and stun the boss.
How to defeat Glissando?
The boss is susceptible to Dark and resistant to Light. The fight with Glissando is a kind of a warm-up before the upcoming battle with Sirene. It introduces the Charm status: an enchanted team member spends their turns attacking the rest of the expedition, which can quickly prove to have catastrophic consequences. However, this status is not that important in this particular encounter. The only attack that inflicts it is very easy to dodge or parry. You can also equip the Anti-Charm Lumina, which you can obtain by defeating the previously encountered Tisseur, which makes you immune to the Charm status. Sciel is an excellent choice for this encounter, as she knows many skills that inflict Dark damage multiple times.
Rewards for defeating Glissando
For defeating Glissando, you will receive:
- 43,248 XP;
- 2,820 Chroma;
- Sirene - outfit for Lune;
- Resplendent Chroma Catalyst x1.
