On this page of the Dying Light The Beast guide, we have prepared a set of useful starting tips. They will help you better understand certain mechanics and make the first hours with the game easier and more enjoyable. We advise what to pay attention to during a fight, what places to look for, and also how to use the environment to your advantage.

Pay attention to the stamina bar

The stamina bar is very important. If it is empty, your attacks will be sluggish and clumsy, and as a result, even a basic zombie will be a deadly threat to you. You will only be able to push away zombies, and your stamina will regenerate much slower. This can often determine your life, so don't swing your weapon blindly every time you see an opponent.

Use your Survivor Sense

The Survivor Sense allows you to scan the area for various items, mission objectives, and threats in the form of more dangerous zombies. Use it whenever you can. Thanks to this, you will avoid dangers, while not missing any interesting items or spots. Especially at night, when more and more dangerous mutants appear.

Pay attention to the weapon usage

Weapons in The Beast can break down quickly. Repair requires tools, and is still limited by the usage limit. When the weapon is at the end of its durability, repair it, otherwise you will deal very low damage to opponents.

Look for places with white paint for climbing

The devs placed white paint on various parts of buildings or walls. Thanks to this, you will easily see which surfaces you can climb on. This solution facilitates movement, especially during missions when you need to reach a higher point of a given building.

Visit the Dark Zones and convoys

Dark zones are places worth exploring. In them, you can find many interesting and rare materials, as well as items such as armors or weapons, including those really rare ones. However, remember that those places are swarming with zombies. It's best to eliminate them quietly so as not to damage your equipment.

The same applies to convoys. Usually, these are vehicles in which you will find valuable items such as ammunition, materials or weapons. The catch is that in order to open the vehicle, you need to obtain a special access card, which is most likely held by a zombie in a military uniform. Kill and loot him to be able to acquire more items.

Use the environment to kill enemies

Elements of the environment can help you get rid of the threat. Climbing higher elevations, between which there is a precipice, will allow you to kill zombies without any effort (they will fall into the precipice). It's worth using red exploding cylinders. Try to lure as many undead as possible into the area of impact before using it. Thanks to this, you will receive a lot of materials when searching their bodies as well as some experience.

Beware of the night in The Beast.

Night in Dying Light offers several new, highly rewarded activities, and additionally rewards the hero with a double bonus to the experience gained. However, you must be very careful, mainly due to the increased activity of the Volatiles. These are extremely troublesome opponents, who certainly do not need to be introduced to the fans of the series. Therefore, only go out at night if you are sufficiently well-prepared. Otherwise, if you die, you will lose a lot of accumulated experience.

Connect power supplies using cables

Electricity is as important as your equipment. To power some safe spots, you will need to find an electric station, then take a cable from it and connect it to the appropriate spot (where most likely a marker will guide you). Without this, some safe spots cannot be used.

Remember that the cable has a limited range and you should choose the shortest route so that you don't find yourself a few meters short. Otherwise, you will have to remove it and start from the beginning. It's best to go straight to the goal, if there is such a possibility, rather than making various turns.
