Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution was created specifically for consoles, though the game belongs to one of the most popular strategy game franchises aimed at PC players. The series made its debut in early 1990s, as initiated by a company known as MicroProse; the Civilization series have been developed by Sid Meier's Firaxis Games nowadays. Similar to the previous installments, Revolution is a turn-based strategy game requiring the player to develop a civilization they have chosen - the process lasts for entire in-game millennia. Each of the sixteen playable nations was assigned to a famous leader, such as Napoleon or Cleopatra. The player not only has to explore and expand their civilization, but also ensure its constant development (cities, technologies, creating trade routes, establishing diplomatic relations, controlling both internal policy and military actions). One is capable of achieving victory here in several different ways, such as military conquest, going beyond earth, economic or cultural domination for instance. Apart from a single player experience, the game offers an opportunity to compete against other players. The version for home consoles comes with colorful, three-dimensional visuals.

In the other mode, the player becomes a trainer and leads their team to victory through 15 licensed international contests divided into 3 leagues. Practically, the player can take part in all the significant ski jumping events: regular contests, championships taking place on the largest jumps, summertime Grand Prix competitions, the Four Hills Tournament, and team rivalry. A sequel to the action RPG by Activision, set in the Marvel’s superhero universe. The game was initially released in 2009 and then remastered with PC and the 8th-generation consoles in mind. The plot of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 starts when the S.H.I.E.L.D. comes across traces of dangerous criminal activity. Mysterious creatures equipped with state-of-the-art weapons and advanced technology stand up to a team of superheroes that consists of Captain America, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Daredevil, among others. The player’s task is to discover who is behind the entire scheme. Mechanics-wise, the production does not deviate significantly from the solutions of its predecessor. The most important novelty is the fusion system that allows two different superheroes to use one special power. The game’s plot can also develop non-linearly, depending on the choices made during dialogues.

Another expansion pack for Dragon Age: Origins - a game developed by the Canada-based studio BioWare. The plot focuses on a dwarven expedition sent to the caves in Orzammar in order to discover the secrets behind the structures built by golems. However, the entire group goes missing and the player character gets hired by Jerrik Dace - the brother of a dwarf who led the expedition. The player's task is to find out what happened to the group of dwarves and rescue them if possible. The expansion focuses mainly on combat, for the player faces powerful enemies, such as the titular golems. It is worth noticing that the expansion stands out with its very high level of difficulty, aiming to spark the interest of the franchise's most experienced fans. However, the player is rewarded with numerous parts of equipment and a shining, magical ball allowing them to open some doors and crates containing treasures.
