Over the course of the story campaign the players will take part in fist fights, shootouts, car pursuits, stealth sequences and so on. Other noteworthy features are the advanced AI, and freedom when it comes to tackling in-game challenges. As befits a co-op game, the key to success lies in skillful cooperation between the two heroes. Just for that, A Way Out offers both a local split screen mode and online play. As for technical aspects, the game uses the advanced Unreal Engine 4 technology for generating graphics.

Content-wise, the game doesn’t significantly deviate from the original, although the systems of combat, crafting, and building were altered in order to work with VR devices. The title is still an extensive RPG that takes us to an open post-apocalyptic world. Apart from the main storyline, there is a number of side missions for the player to perform – the developers’ intention was to offer absolute freedom so it is only up to the players where they decide to go and how their actions influence the course of the story. Aside from characteristic features of the series, such as the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. character attribute system and the V.A.T.S. aiming system, Fallout 4 VR offers extensive crafting options that let us not only create and enhance various furnishings but also to construct buildings that serve as shelters for the protagonist and his/her companions.

A dynamic and demanding platform game in a retro setting. Developed by Gamera Interactive, Unit 4 focuses on the adventures of four alien special agents trying to save their star system from inevitable doom. An army of evil aliens has invaded the protagonists’ home planet and stolen a sacred artifact. Since similar robberies have occurred on other planets, the entire system is slowly falling into its demise, as it cannot function without the aforementioned artifacts. Traveling aboard their spaceship, the main protagonists visit numerous planets and fight the alien minions of evil in search for a way to defeat the enemy and retrieve the life-giving artifacts. To travel to a planet, one has to open the galactic map and freely control the spaceship represented on it. When on a planet’s surface, the main protagonists can move in two dimensions - jump on moving platforms, glide, hang from walls and ceilings, as well as fight the enemy forces. Each character features a unique skill set, such as Double Jump or Deadly Dash. Since the players can freely switch between controlled characters, one can quickly combine their special moves into stunning combos. Alternatively, one can join their friends in a local cooperative mode, and play Unit 4 together, with each character assigned to one player.

The player must not only be fast, but also control two parameters – HP that represents the health of Kunio and SP, the energy that is used for performing special attacks. While progressing in the game, the protagonist gains experience that enables him to become stronger and face greater opponents. Similarly to the previous entries in the series, the game features pixel art graphics.

The latter introduced an opportunity to land on the planets without atmosphere, in order to explore the surfaces using an on-board rover. Moreover, Horizons enriches the game with a character creation system and gives an opportunity to invite others to explore space together, aboard one starship.

In the game, the player assumes the role of a fledgling owner of a shabby abode – his task is to make it into a mansion for various monsters, mutated plants, and psychopathic murderers, all taken straight from horror films. During the game, one has to construct new rooms, upgrade the existing ones, and lure innocent victims into the mansion – our vicious protégés can murder them and loot their bodies for resources necessary for crafting new items. What is worth noticing, the player has to obey the usual, unwritten rules of horror B-movies – murders can occur only at night, the virgins have to be the last ones to die, and such. In MachiaVillain one has to remember that the innocent victims are not the only ones to step through our threshold – our residence is visited by other monsters, who in turn can be caught and convinced to work for us, as well as supernatural creature hunters, police operatives, and even SWAT units. Because of that, combat is an important aspect of the game, offering an active pause system that allows the players to fight, observe and plan their strategies.

During gameplay of Tokyo Dark, you explore diverse locations, collect useful items, solve puzzles, chat with non-player characters, and take decisions – sometimes having only seconds – that will shape the attributes and the nature of Ito, along with the way NPCs treat her. The action is pushed forward once you draw conclusions based on the followed leads. The action has an anime style, and the grim soundtrack is composed by Matt “Bison” Steed, the leader of the trash metal band Reign of Fury.

Our fellowship has to face numerous foes – from large spiders and skeletons to goblin bands and trolls. The battles feature a turn-based system. The key to victory lies in a good utilization of the characters’ features, their special skills, and items. Additional pieces of equipment can be acquired by looting fallen enemies and using the crafting system, which allows the players to combine gathered ingredients to create useful items. The visuals feature a warm and merry color scheme, which perfectly corresponds with the light and fairy-tale-like game setting.

In Emergency Call 112 - The Fire Fighting Simulation the player assumes the role of a firefighter posted to a fictional city, which is open for exploration. As you play, you take part in a various rescue operations – starting with road accidents, through cleaning toxic spills, to putting down fires of houses and industrial compounds. Each crisis is generated procedurally and may take place both outside and inside buildings. In your work you make use of a variety of tools (such as hoses, mobile lifts and ladders), but the success depends not only on the proper use of equipment at hand, but also on the coordination of your entire team. The characteristic feature of Emergency Call 112 - The Fire Fighting Simulation is its far-reaching realism – the game developers consulted firefighters from Mülheim, Germany, which helped them faithfully recreate the equipment and vehicles (spearheaded by LF24) used by them. As for graphics, it may not be the game’s biggest strength, but the players may like the design of firefighters’ trucks and the realistic way in which the fire spreads.

To protect him and to eliminate the opponent, the player is using cards from his deck to summon new units. Their march is slowed down by guard towers placed between the bunkers of the generals. The key to victory is to correctly match units to tasks and enemies. Cards that provide special powers and bonuses are important as well. All of it makes creating a versatile deck the main task of the game. Blitz Brigade: Rival Tactics offers nice, cartoonish graphics. Although the game shares its title with a shooter known simply as Blitz Brigade, it has completely different gameplay.

The player takes part in tactical battles set in a three-dimensional environment. Furthermore, the player recruits officers, conducts political actions within the Cyrannus planetary system, but also expands their fleet alongside progression, based on the unlocked spaceship designs. Apart from the single-player component, the game offers a complex multiplayer mode which allows the player to fight 1v1 duels against commanders from all over the world. All of this is complemented by decent-quality visuals.

As we progress through the game, we will unlock access to technical and visual modifications of our bike. Urban Trial Freestyle 2 has two game modes: Stunt Mode, where we have to jump as high as we can and execute difficult stunts, and Time Attack where we have to be the first one to finish the race. We can share our scores through online rankings. The game features eye-pleasing visuals and comes with a level editor that allows us to create our own maps.

The ship’s movements can be controlled with the analog sticks. The player is tasked with following the precise track and sticking to a white ribbon, which boosts the score multiplier. Occasionally, the player has to face powerful bosses – fighting these foes revolves around weakening their armor and pieces of skeleton. The key to success lies not only in good reflexes and agility but also good hearing, as the gameplay is accompanied by an audio layer – the more aligned with the rhythm player’s actions are, the higher he scores.

In terms of mechanics, the game delivers a complex 3D fighting system without any original plot, however, it includes some scenarios that faithfully recreate the most important moments depicted in particular series. During the game, one can control powerful mecha that specialize in different combat styles and feature powerful fighting skills. In the basic game mode, the fights take place in closed arenas, on which 2 teams (2 players per team) wage a battle against each other. Developers of Gundam Versus prepared a number of gameplay variants for both one and many players, e.g. 3v3 matches and a cooperative mode, in which the players join their forces to fight off enemy waves or face a powerful boss.

The player can easily switch between them and, while piloting one plane, command the other, controlled by AI. From time to time, you can step outside the cockpit and take part in special shooter sequences.

We get a 3D platformer where we explore various locations using Mario's acrobatic abilities, gather items, avoid traps, and fight with the encountered enemies and bosses. Super Mario Odyssey comes with some new elements, like bigger locations or a more sandbox-like nature of the game that gives us more freedom of exploration. Mario's hat also has some interesting properties and gives us access to many unique abilities.

They also have different personalities that we get to discover during the campaign featuring dozens of levels. The key element of the title is combat against hordes of zombies with the use of either melee weapons or firearms. The more the heroines get hit, the more naked they become. This can be used as a tactical advantage – the removed clothes serve as a bait for enemies. In School Girl/Zombie Hunter you can play solo or with friends. The title features 3D graphics clearly inspired by anime style.

The fourth installment in the legendary beat ‘em up series, developed by Arc System Works. The development was supported by the persons responsible for the cult-classic previous installments of the series, including Takaomi Kaneko, Yoshihisa Kishimoto, Koji Ogata, and Kazunaka Yamane. Similarly to the previous installments of the Double Dragon series, the gameplay focuses on traversing 2D locations and eliminating hordes of approaching opponents. Our means of survival include punches and kicks, as well as numerous melee weapons, with each level ending in a boss fight that requires much more effort from the player. Double Dragon IV received a story mode that can be completed alone, or with the help of another player. Completing the campaign unlocks the Tower Mode, involving the climb on the progressively higher levels of the titular tower, and a 2P Duel Mode, focusing on online 1v1 battes. The game is characterized by simple, pixel-art visuals, which take the player back to the previous installments of the series, known for popularizing the beat ‘em up genre.

Another installment in the popular (especially in the USA) sports game series developed and published by Electronic Arts. Traditionally, the game allows us to control the NFL league players; however, it also features several modifications. Most importantly, EA Tiburon has implemented a full-fledged story campaign into Madden NFL 18, entitled Longshot. One gets to follow the story of a formerly promising NFL player, who after several years of break decides to reclaim his status and become a pro. Moreover, the developers have decided to base this installment of the Madden NFL series on the Frostbite engine also used i.a. in Battlefield 1 and FIFA 18. Among the novelties in the game, there is the Target Passing system and three new gameplay modes - the spectacular Arcade, the realistic Simulation, and Competitive, which is a combination of the previous two. Madden NFL 18 allows one to play either solo or in a multiplayer mode, including the popular Ultimate Team mode, in which we have to collect players cards and assemble teams out of them.

A special edition of the unusual Polish game, SUPERHOT, developed specifically for virtual reality devices and dedicated movement controllers. The game’s most prominent feature (same as in the original) is the fact that in SUPERHOT VR, time flows only when the player moves. Contrary to the original, however, the player cannot move freely around the environment; instead, they are teleported to another section of the level after clearing the current section of all enemies. Mechanically, the game is focused entirely on swift dispatching of enemies, which are done in with just one shot or hit. In order for the game not to be too easy, the protagonist has virtually no health points – they key to success in to plan every move and skillfully utilize every available resource. The player can resort to bare fists, firearms, shurikens and other items (such as frying pans, which can be used as shields).

Tower of Time is an RPG set in a fantasy realm that stands on the brink of destruction. The player assumes the role of a warrior, who, along with a party, decides to explore a mysterious tower that may hold a key to stopping the apocalypse. Gameplay mechanics in Tower of Time mostly rely on exploration of the game world, completing missions, fighting foes, and developing your heroes. Characters represent different classes and have a variety of attacks and special skills at their disposal. Besides, many of them can have impact on their environment. Combat is observed from top-down perspective and played in real time, but it’s possible to briefly slow down time so that you can give orders to your heroes. Throughout the campaign you traverse the 13 floors of the tower, which amounts to 20-30 hours of gameplay. In between missions, you regularly visit a local town in order to regain strength and replenish supplies and equipment. Some buildings in the town can be upgraded, which unlocks new gear and abilities.

Universe in Holy Potatoes! is procedurally generated and inhabited by numerous vegetable-like creatures. We will visit numerous different planets that can provide us with useful resources. Those can be used to upgrade our ship and weapons, useful against the encountered enemies. Battles are turn-based and our victory depends on our tactics and the power of our weapons. We also have to manage our ship and crew.

As the sole survivor of the massacre, the protagonist has to avenge their comrades and by eliminating those who wronged them. Rogue Trooper Redux is played from a third-person view. Particular missions are set in diverse setting and are based on dynamic exchanges of fire. The protagonist faces other modified soldiers, but also hostile vehicles and combat drones. The game also features stealth-action sequences. Alongside progression, the player unlocks special skill chips - thanks to them, the protagonist can face challenges that would otherwise require an entire squad of soldiers. Compared with the original edition, Rogue Trooper Redux offers noticeably improved graphics.

An arcade sport game from Story Fort studio, offering a truly peculiar version of basketball. Creators of Dunk Lords were inspired by unusual sports games from the previous century, mainly the NBA Jam series. Instead of regular basketball matches, we receive a spectacular and quite brutal game, in which two teams of five players use supernatural powers. We can choose from sixteen diversified players (both humans and strange mutants), each with unique talents. They can also attack opponents, which more often than not turns out to be more important than scoring points. As if that wasn’t enough to heat up the game, playgrounds themselves are filled with obstacles and traps. Dunk Lords offers story campaign in single player and cooperative variants, as well as multiplayer for up to four people.
