The third installment in a series of popular, open-world futuristic action games. Crackdown 3 introduces the franchise to the eighth-gen consoles. The game was created by Cloudgine – a British studio led by David Jones, who is the father of the series. Similar to the previous installments, the player is taken to a futuristic city of an open structure, assuming the role of a futuristic officer of the law who faces organized crime. The player has a wide variety of cutting-edge weapons and parts of equipment at their disposal, though in terms of the mechanics, the game follows the successful patterns of the predeceasing titles. As usual, the story campaign is an open-world experience here and it can be played in the co-op mode as well.

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. is an original mix of action game and a turn-based strategy developed by the Japanese studio Intelligent Systems. The game is set in a steampunk world. Action in Code Name: S.T.E.A.M takes place in the 19th century London invaded by aggressive creatures from outer space. During our adventures we control a four-person unit of soldiers which is a part of the elite S.T.E.A.M formation. Our job is to fend off the invaders. Combat is turn-based. In battle, we have to wisely manage our resources and rely on tactical actions, like flanking or ambushing our enemies. As we play, our soldiers get more powerful equipment, making them more effective in combat. We observe the action from a third-person perspective, just like in many action games. The game features fully-3D visuals.

Additionally, Super Mario Makers supports amiibo figures, which unlock new skins for our hero.

The player assumes control of Manny, a recently deceased who takes over the honorable position of a travel agent with the Department of Death. Dissatisfied with the fact that some of the dead have to embark on a four-year journey to reach the afterlife, our hero receives a lead that turns him onto a huge bribery scandal. We play as the titular green dinosaur Yoshi, one of the main mascots of the Japanese company; the game expands on concept of Kirby’s Epic Yarn. We received a classic platformer in 2.5D, in which our hero is followed by running eggs, which can be shot at various targets or parts of scenery. Thanks to the world being made of yarn, many objects can be unraveled to unlock new paths and secrets. Yoshi’s Wooly World offers a cooperation mode for two players. Each three-dimensional location is made of virtual yarn, and every character resembles a handcrafted puppet filled with cotton.

A turn-based war strategy developed by the renowned studio AGEOD together with an experienced publishing duo Matrix/Slitherine. Ageod’s To End All Wars is set in the years 1914-1918 and fully recreates all military operations that took place in Europe during the WWI. By taking command of one of the two historical alliances you can play through two separate campaigns, letting you re-enact history or change its course by making war plans of your own. Ageod’s To End All Wars emphasizes realism and accuracy by giving you command over faithfully recreated ground units, aircraft and naval vessels. You must also take care of economy, technology and diplomacy. There are numerous factors that determine the course of battles, starting with the weather and terrain, to individual units’ specific statistics. In order to make it easier to command a large number of units the game offers intuitive management system, letting you organize your military forces into brigades, divisions, corps and entire armies.

The continuation of the console hit titled Afro Samurai, based on a manga written and illustrated by Takashi Okazaki. The indie studio Redacted, established by David Robinson, the co-creator of the original game, is responsible for the development of the production. The storyline involves a completely fresh story, focused on the character of Kuma. During the playthrough we have the opportunity to play the roles of several, diverse characters, including Afro, who was also featured in the previous installment of the production. When it comes to the mechanics the game, it is still a rather typical hack’n’slash, which revolves around brutal and spectacular duels, fought with deadly, samurai weapons. The continuation does not lack in the terms of standard elements of the series, including platformer elements and an advanced combat system, which allows the player to perform extremely impressive moves and precise sword strikes. The visuals have been kept in the same style as those of the predecessor, however, unlike in the original Afro Samurai, the sequel allows us to enjoy the game in co-op mode.

The foundations of the new installment remain unchanged and the game still focuses mostly on controlling various train types on tracks located in different corners of the world. The player can select from many faithfully recreated rail tracks and realistic models of actual trains. Train Simulator 2016 is a technical revolution for the series, introducing the game to the modern Unreal Engine 4 technology. This had a very positive impact on the graphics of the title, but it also made the DLC created for the previous games incompatible with the 2016 installment. The players are forced to build their large base of expansions from scratch. The game traditionally offers an advanced editor which enables the player to create their own locomotives, locations and tasks.

We play as a sixteen year old girl named Emma, who delivers pizza from her father’s restaurant. Following her family’s business, she must do her job and avoid cruel teenagers. Gameplay wise, Ninja Pizza Girl combines features of classic platform titles like Sonic with parkour elements known from some modern productions. As we traverse the levels, mainly slums and skyscraper roofs, Emma performs some truly outstanding stunts to avoid obstacles. However, her task is quite difficulty due to time limit and enemies that are as nimble as her. Interestingly, there is no classic stamina bar, it was replaced with a gauge that shows heroine’s self-esteem. As for the game’s visuals, it features a comic book-like style, dominated with neon, pink-purple colors.

The game takes place in a small city called Denforth, where the protagonist is sent in order to save the scientists that are there. In contrast to the original game, in Lifeline one doesn’t have to face the constant lack of supplies and weaponry – when the game starts, the player has plenty of both. Eventually, however, the hordes of zombies attacking the players hideout will cause the supplies to run out, forcing the player to look for alternative ways of survival. In the game, we assume the role of the Postal Dude who hits the streets with an intent of murdering anyone who happens to stand, walk, or sit in his way. A logic game inspired by Chromatron and Aargon. Archaica: The Path Of Light is the debut production of TwoMammoths, a Polish development studio. The title puts an incredibly responsible task in the player’s hands: to save the humanity from extinction. To achieve this, we have to activate special defense mechanisms by leading a beam of light through the forgotten path of the ancients. In practice, it means operating mirrors so that they reflect light into magic crystals that provide energy to machines. This task is made difficult by numerous obstacles such as stone blocks that we have to move or gates that need to be opened. The game is further enriched with secrets that reveal some details about the story. We uncover them by directing a beam of light at obelisks marked with hieroglyphs. The single player campaign offers five areas divided into several levels. We gain access to them from the world map, and the stages we’ve completed can be replayed. Failure to do so alarms special investigators who specialize in such cases. In The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça & Pizza Boy, we assume the role of Joao Vincente Mendonça (a werewolf detective) and Eurico (a pizza guy, Mendonça’s trainee). Our task is to solve a number of seemingly unconnected cases that with time can be pieced together into a coherent whole which reveals a significantly thicker scheme. Then, the time comes to equip the character with a unique set of cards, representing equipment, spells, and helpers. The game offers a real-time experience, and the maps are randomly generated. The player has to avoid deadly traps and deal with different monsters and powerful bosses. One can either compete against other players or cooperate with them in order to complete subsequent challenges, develop the skills of our character, and unlock new cards for one's deck. In contrast to the original game, each death of the player's character is permanent.

A simple economic strategy for casual players. The title combines elements of popular city builders with time-management game mechanics, putting us in the role of the mayor of the city, who must take care of its development and ecological balance. We have at our disposal 48 levels and several dozen different buildings. Thanks to appropriate management, we carry out the next tasks assigned to us, trying to meet the specified time limit.

A realistic simulation game, imitating the work of specialized marine rescue services. Playing the role of a rescue captain, we supervise the course of actions taking place in the waters of the North Sea or the Baltic Sea. In subsequent missions we pump out water from ships, extinguish fires in the open sea and save passengers in danger.

Boundless is a sandbox MMORPG developed by Wonderstruck Games. The game (also known as Oort Online during its Early Access period) allows the players to explore a couple of diversified worlds that are connected with each other through a system of magic portals and all together work as the game's universe, on which the players have a significant influence. The game's plot focuses on searching for the traces of the extinct Oort civilization to find out what caused its demise. In terms of gameplay, the Boundless gives us complete freedom. We decide what to do, where to go, and how we progress our character, who can specialize in one of the many available professions. The game offers an advanced crafting system. We use it to create simple items as well as more complex buildings. During our adventures we will encounter many NPCs, both friendly and hostile.
