Adventure, Point-and-click, Singleplayer, Thriller.
A typical point-and-click adventure game and a continuation to 2012's Yesterday. Yesterday Origins was developed by the creators of the original game - the Spanish Pendulo Studios. Again, the player takes on the role of John Yesterday; as for the plot, it was divided into two timelines. Thus the player, familiar with present-day events, is taken back to the era of the Spanish Inquisition. In terms of game mechanics, the game follows the pattern of its predecessor. The player explores the in-game locations, talks to NPCs, gathers items and solves various puzzles for the most part. Contrary to the first installment however, Yesterday Origins is a fully 3D title, though the creators have once again managed to convey the characteristic atmosphere of the original game through application of the specific, cartoonish art style.

Adventure, 2D, Crowdfunding, Humorous, Indie Games, Point-and-click, Singleplayer.
A point-and-click adventure game created by Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick. The players are taken to the titular Thimbleweed Park - once a prosperous business area, now definitely past its prime. The player takes on the roles of five characters in total throughout this adventure and is capable of switching between them at any time. The characters present are a stronger feature of this game - apart from others, the player assumes the role of Ransome - a clown suffering from a curse which makes him unable to get rid of his stage make-up. Franklin is another of the characters the player will be in control of in this game; one day, he (Franklin) discovers that he has died. The player will also assume control of two detectives investigating a case of a body found nearby; Dolores on the other hand, needs to read the testament of her rich uncle. When it comes to the story, the creators mixed a unique taste in humor with different possible endings. All of this is complemented by visuals modeled after LucasArts' classics, as well as an interface resembling the legendary SCUMM system.

The story of the game takes place in the future, in a large metropolis where every citizen is being watched “for his own good” by a totalitarian government. Among the people who don’t want to be controlled there are the so-called “runners” who mastered the art of parkour that allows them to quickly and effectively move through the concrete jungle. The player assumes the role of a female courier named Faith who is trying to protect the good name of her sister framed into murder. The gameplay consists of series of missions during which Faith uses her skills to move through the roofs and buildings while avoiding guards. A multiplayer shooter game played from an aerial view. Foxhole emphasizes logistics-related tasks performed by the players - they have to gather resources, produce and deliver equipment, but also construct defensive structures. Developed by the Canadian studio Clapfoot, the game casts the players in the roles of regular soldiers fighting for one of two factions. The experience was inspired by battles fought during both World Wars. The players' goal is to take over and defend Town Halls located in different towns situated on the map. This goal cannot be achieved without tight cooperation between the comrades. Contrary to most games of this kind, weapons, ammunition and other parts of equipment do not simply appear in the soldiers' pockets - in Foxhole, almost every type of equipment has to be created and transported to a distribution point by some player. As a result, part of one's team fights the enemies, while the other serves the role of support at the same time, gathering resources, producing vehicles or equipment crates, and transporting weapons and ammunition using trucks. Additionally, the players can create automated defensive structures, such as bunkers or turrets, which can slow down the enemy's assault while one's allies are engaged in actions somewhere else.

A stand-alone expansion for a war-themed RTS game created by Best Way (a Ukrainian developer) and released in December, 2007. In terms of game mechanics, Assault Squad does not stray far from the formula of the base game - the player fights in various places the Second World War left its mark on, taking control over American, Soviet and German, as well as previously unavailable British and Japanese squads. Contrary to the base game, the expansion focuses mainly on multiplayer experience, offering four modes, namely the Frontlines, Combat, Assault Zones and Skirmish. For those preferring single-player games, the creators prepared fifteen missions to be played in the Skirmish mode - one can compete against their friends or bots and their goal is to take over the outposts scattered throughout the map. Men of War: Assault Squad utilizes an improved version of the engine used by the core game, which had a positive effect mainly on the visuals and vehicle models, making them look more realistic.

Naturally, each side of the conflict has their own units, buildings, and technologies. The gameplay combines the mechanics of the RTS classics with modern graphics and refurbished interface. It focuses on resource gathering, base development, and challenging tactical combat. At the same time, the developers dropped the necessity of controlling every single unit, so the players can concentrate on managing the larger picture of the battlefield.

Gameplay of SUPERHOT consists of eliminating subsequent opponents in sterile rooms and corridors, where time stands still as long as the player doesn't move. The game focuses not on the shooting itself, but rather on achieving the mastery of time control which allows you to dodge bullets while accurately aiming at the heads of your enemies. You start the game with no weapons, but you can find them on enemies’ corpses. Ammunition is limited and even a single shot can kill your avatar, forcing you to restart the game. An MMO shooter game played from the first-person view and developed by a studio belonging to Sony Online Entertainment. The game debuted on PCs, but eventually it was also released for PlayStation 4. The game is set on the planet Auraxis, where colonists from Earth are fighting for territory, power, and resources. The players reinforce the ranks of one of the three factions (Terran Republic, New Conglomerate, Vanu Sovereignty). The action takes place on huge maps where thousands of players can meet - each map is filled with bases, outposts, and other places of strategic importance. The size of the battlefield made it necessary to simplify movement. As a result, the players make use of teleports, vehicles, as well as a system of spawning automatically in places where the action is. As the player progresses, their character develops within the character class chosen earlier (each of those serves a purpose and can do their share for the faction not only through eliminating the enemies). PlanetSide 2 utilizes mechanics borrowed from modern-day FPS games. For instance, health partially regenerates in an automatic manner. The experience is complemented by high-quality visuals.

She has no memories of how she got there or what happened before. Forced to fight against forces of Heaven that constantly attack her, the protagonist gradually learns new facts about her past. The gameplay focuses on traveling through subsequent locations while eliminating enemies and very original bosses. During the game, the player uses a mix of handguns and melee weapons (including items taken from fallen enemies). By using the power of her hair, Bayonetta can also summon powerful demons and hellish torture machines that allow her to eliminate her enemies in a very effective way. Witch Time, a very useful ability that slows time, proves to be an alternative key to victory in most cases.
