Plot of Freespace 2 is set more than 3 decades after events of the original, as the alliance of former enemies, Terran and Vasudan, is forced to confront the militant Shivan race once again. In comparison to the first installment, gameplay mechanics has not changed significantly, offering us more than 30 different missions constituting an epic story. However, the game features a lot of new elements, including things like the option to give orders to our subordinates, ability to lock-on to and eliminate various subsystems of enemy units, as well as more intuitive interface, improved mission editor, and multiplayer mode. During the game we encounter, in total, more than 70 types of spaceships – from quick and agile fighters to powerful, several kilometers long battleships.

Another installment in the popular Japanese RPG series developed by Nihon Falcom Corp. Once again, the players get to travel to the land of Zemuria, more exactly to the territory known as Erebonia, where the Thors Military Academy is located. The school is attended by children of both gentry and common citizens – the exception being the 7th grade comprising only the main protagonists of the game. The action of the game is set during one school year, in which the students increase their skills, acquire military experience, and overcome the differences that divide them. The background of the story is filled with ever-growing tensions in the society that might result in an outbreak of a civil war. The plot of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel features a non-linear structure and is shaped by the decisions made by the players. In comparison to the previous installments in the series, this game stands out with its multiple improvements, the most prominent being the TPP perspective, which has replaced the typical for the series top down perspective. Additionally, the game features more dialogues and a modified combat system. Once again, battles are turn-based, however, they are more dynamic because of the combo system enabling players to mount spectacular and powerful attack sequences. Exploration, completing quests given by NPCs and turn-based combat are all of high importance here. The protagonist can be accompanied by four other characters with unique abilities, which can be developed alongside progression.

A dark 2D platformer with RPG elements, developed by the team of Ska Studios, known for its original and equally brutal productions The Dishwasher and Charlie Murder. In Salt and Sanctuary we take on the form of a pirate whose ship crashes near a mysterious island inhabited by hordes of drowned and their powerful masters. By eliminating hordes of enemies and bosses the protagonist gradually discovers the secrets of the island, and thanks to the raw materials he acquires, such as gold and salt, develops his equipment and skills when visiting safe enclaves (titular sanctuaries). The hero has a considerable range of weapons and magic skills at his disposal, and the key element is the proper selection, because too much unnecessary equipment negatively affects the protagonist's mobility and special abilities. The game features an extremely gloomy atmosphere and hand-drawn artwork, typical for the studio's early productions.

A mobile football manager and a spin-off of the famed Pro Evolution Soccer series developed by Konami. In contrast with the poorly-received 2014 edition, which was an attempt to compete with FIFA Ultimate Team, this time we are looking at a serious sports manager which offers more than 5000 licensed players from Europe and South America. In contrast to other football managers, PES Club Manager keeps to the football side of the sport – our duties include picking a team, tactics, and training schedule, as well as transfers. We are also responsible for the development of the club’s infrastructure: building stadium improvements, club center, offices, youngling schools, scouting agency, fan-club headquarters, medical center, or training fields. When it comes to graphics, the game employs a three-dimensional match engine, known from previous major installments of the series.

An action adventure game, developed by Protocol Games studio, belonging to the survival horror genre. The main protagonist of Song of Horror is a man named Daniel Noyer, and during the game we try to unravel the mystery of the evil force that torments him. However, we control Noyer himself only occasionally, playing instead as sixteen different characters, each of them possessing unique skills and biographies, that are somehow connected with the main hero. The plot of the game is divided into sixteen chapters in which we deal mainly with exploration and puzzles. The game doesn't feature a traditional combat system, but during its course we face many arcade challenges, including escapes or hiding from threats. The production does not offer a manual save option, forcing the players to deal with the consequences of their actions. Fortunately, death of one of the characters does not mean the end of the game; we simply take control of another person.

This is the second (after Space Colony HD) attempt to refresh a classic economic space strategy game, which was created by Firefly and released in 2003. This new edition was created with support from the Steam digital distribution platform. The game is set in a distant future and the player's goal here is to establish an efficiently working network of space colonies, on behalf of Blackwater Industries. The mechanics present combined elements of strategies and simulation games, such as The Sims. The player gathers resources and erects subsequent buildings for military and recreational purposes. Simultaneously however, the player has to take care of security-related issues, as well as to make sure that the workers are happy enough at their workplace - this can be difficult, as each of the workers has a different personality and individual preferences. Apart from the enhanced, HD graphics, this edition brought completely new contents, which resulted in the single-player campaign now having more than 80 missions. The creators provided the game's full support of the Steam platform (Steam Workshop for instance).

It is the seventh installment in a race game series devoted to Formula 1. As per usual, the game was created by British developer Codemasters, known for such legendary titles, as Colin McRae Rally, TOCA Race Driver, or Micro Machines. Traditionally, you can play through an entire Formula 1 season, taking part in all test sessions, eliminations, and proper races. The game features also a scenario mode and a multiplayer, letting you compete against living opponents. For the first time in the history of the series the creators adjusted the time of release to coincide with the beginning of the racing season. This enabled the game to synchronize drivers’ condition and performance in-game and in reality, using real-life data. F1 2015 is the first edition of the series designed for the eight generation consoles, which significantly improved the game’s realism and graphics.

A roguelike game set in the 19th century. The Curious Expedition combines elements of adventure, strategy, and action role-playing games. We assume the role of the head of a scientific expedition that searches for legendary places such as Atlantis or El Dorado. Our party can consist of such famous 19th-century scientists as Karol Darwin, Nikola Tesla, or Marie Curie. Each of them works for their own reputation and uses a unique weapon. While playing, we move through procedurally generated maps divided into hexes. Once we reach an interesting place, the perspective switches to the view typical for classical adventure games. In our travels, we can encounter local tribes and hidden treasures guarded by traps and various enemies — from wild animals and cannibals to dinosaurs or zombies. The title puts emphasis on logistics and planning. Selecting the right equipment and skillful management of our resources are key elements to the success of every expedition. A brutal, dynamic action game set in a fantasy world. It was developed by DrinkBox - a studio popular for such games as Mutant Blobs Attack or Guacamelee. The player assumes the role of a female warrior who realizes that she has lost her left arm. Traversing a land full of magic, fantasy civilizations and ancient ruins, the protagonist tries to discover the truth behind the mutilation. The game is played from the first person perspective and the player fights subsequent enemies mainly, making use of an unusual combat system based on gestures. A key part is played by chopping off extremities of enemies, which can be later assembled to the protagonist's body making her more effective in combat and granting access to new fighting techniques. The game stands out with a minimalistic interface and an original graphic style. The latter is filled with sharp lines and very bright colors.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 provides a continuation to an unusual game created by Scott Cawthon and awarded a series of prizes - it was considered the most original horror title of 2014. In this second installment, the player takes on the role of a new watchman working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Despite the warnings received from his predecessor, he decided to give it a try and stay at the restaurant overnight. Although the entire building was rebuilt and the famous animatronics were gifted with completely new software along with a face recognition system, the robots are still hungry for human lives after dark. Surviving five subsequent nights at the restaurant turns out to be quite a challenge. In terms of the mechanics, the second installment is based on a slightly modified gameplay formula of the original game. Instead of being in charge of a lighting system, the protagonist is equipped with only a flashlight. The watch room has one entrance only now, but without a door. Thus the only way to avoid getting killed by the animatronics here is to put on a special mask which fools the face recognition systems of the robots.
