A grotesque strategy game from the developers responsible for such curious projects as Square Brawl and Clustertruck. Totally Accurate Battle Simulator allows the players to control an army of colored humanoids. We spend our money on infantry, archers, pikemen, or siege machines, such as ballistae and catapults. Each battle begins with a planning phase where we can set the formation and tactics employed by our forces, and then watch the results of these decisions in a three-dimensional environment. The physics engine implemented in the game is one of its highlights – the troops’ animations and ragdoll effects, as well as projectile trajectories and impacts are calculated on the fly, creating spectacular, or more often, funny situations. Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is characterized by its sterile visuals – angular character models and objects are coated with uniform, very simple textures, which emphasizes the absurdity of the game.

LEGO Worlds was designed as a multiplayer virtual playground, in which the gameplay is focused on creating our own constructions and exploring thus created brick world with other players. The game is a classic sandbox reminiscent of the popular Minecraft, giving us complete freedom to shape the world around us. Players can meet and interact in various ways, as well as take part in a variety of adventures. The game also provides a whole range of popular brick vehicles, and hostile characters with whom we often have to fight. The entire production features a colorful visual style characteristic for the whole series.

Continuation of the original auto-run platformer that was the first major success of Russian independent studio Nekki. Plot of Vector 2 continues the storyline of the original and takes us back to the dreary world of the future, in which the eye of Big Brother keeps track of all actions of the people. Protagonist known from the first installment was eventually captured by security forces, but, instead of killing him, they decided to use his skills to test some new equipment in a secret research facility. In comparison with the original, game mechanics have not changed significantly and the gameplay boils down to overcoming successive levels with gradually learned parkour tricks. This time, however, individual levels are procedurally generated and each death is final. The game features also completely new locations and enemies, new types of obstacles and pitfalls, as well as a large set of additional gadgets to unlock.

The second full-fledged installment in an extremely popular action-logic game franchise that earned the Finnish studio Rovio worldwide fame. After a string of spin-offs that combined the original gameplay with elements from other genres, this title goes back to the roots of the franchise, using well-known mechanics with a handful of new solutions. What is different, is the design of levels, which now feature not just of a single structure but also contribute to a larger entity. Moreover, the available arsenal of birds must suffice to complete the entire level, which introduces a strategic layer, requiring you to carefully manage your resources. Additionally, some new elements has been introduced to the game, namely spells and collectible cards. The second part of Angry Birds boasts noticeably better visuals than the previous games. The title is based on free-to-play model with numerous of microtransactions.

The player assumes command of one of the starships; however, as a result of a mechanical failure, the vessel crashes on an uncharted planet and the protagonist, as the sole survivor, is put against impossible odds to stay alive. Gameplay-wise, Empyrion: Galactic Survival combines elements of adventure, strategy, and space simulation games, putting emphasis on survival aspects and the extensive crafting system. In the game, we arrive at various kinds of planet, where we have to face different dangers in the form of hazardous climatic conditions or hostile alien races.

In the game, one assumes the role of Karl Fishbourne, a sharpshooter sent to the African front where he has to face elite Afrika Korps units supported by Tiger tanks, which spread terror among the Allied forces. The gameplay mechanics remain unaltered, however that does not mean players cannot experience some novelties implemented herein, honorable mentions being significantly larger maps with non-linear structure and even more elaborate X-Ray camera, which is a kind of Sniper Elite series’ trademark. We control a selected plant and try to protect our defensive structures against incoming hordes of enemies. The game focuses on cooperation and teamwork, and the proper usage of each plant’s properties, like healing or floating above the ground, are the key to success. Compared to main Plants vs. Zombies games, Garden Warfare offers high-quality visuals running on Frostbite engine, the technology used e.g. in the Battlefield series.

The fifteenth installment in the Tales series, released for the 20th anniversary of the RPG franchise by Bandai Namco. The game is set in the land of Glenwood, and you, together with new heroes, including Sorey the future Shepherd (a mythical warrior), have to rid the land of a powerful plague, which makes mortals lose their faith in good. The gameplay in Tales of Zestiria consists mostly of exploration (for the first time in the series' history, the game features an open world), developing your party, completing quests, and combat. Tales of Zestiria features a new version of the series' distinct arcade-like combat system, and one of the biggest changes is that the battles take place on the maps you explore. The stylized 3D visuals are of high quality, especially the designs by the series' original creators: Mutsumi Inomata, Kosuke Fujishima, Daigo Okumura and Minoru Iwamoto.

Minimalistic, in terms of visuals, logic strategy game designed by an indie developer from New Zealand, Dinosaur Polo Club. Mini Metro is a project that originated as a prototype created for the 48-hour Ludum Dare contest. The game puts you up against a challenging task of designing and building a subway network in a dynamically developing metropolis. The game features randomly generated maps. Initially, there are only 3 stations to manage, but as the city expands, stations appear in new, randomly designated places, and with them even more impatient commuters. In order to offer them fast communication around the metropolis, you have to constantly open new metro lines and modify the existing ones for maximum efficiency. Mini Metro ends when dissatisfaction of citizens reaches maximum.

Disgaea 5 Complete is another installment in the strategic/tactical RPG series created and developed by the Japanese studio Nippon Ichi Software since 2003. Disgaea games are characterized by a high dose of fourth-wall breaking humor and frequent references to pop-culture. Disgaea 5 is the first game in the series that was released on Nintendo Switch. We play as Killia, a young demon who wants to free his world from the rule of the dark lord of the underworld. To defeat the enemy, Killia has to unite all of the conquered and threatened worlds. He goes on a dangerous journey along which he recruits many unusual allies. Most of the time we will spend on three dimensional battlefields covered with square tiles. Combat is turn-based. In battle, we will use combinations of attack, spells, and special abilities. Along with the new classes, the developers have introduced the option of banding our heroes into units, and the Revenge system connected with that option. Disgaea 5 has the same characteristic visual style of the previous iterations and looks like an interactive anime.

A new entry in a popular series of real time tactical games developed by Atomic Games and taken over by Matrix Games/Slitherine. The players assume control over United States’ 1st Infantry Division, also known as “The Big Red One” during its WWII tour of duty, including Northern Africa, Sicily, and D-Day landings. The game takes place in real time, with the player receiving control over numerous types of units such as infantry, artillery, armored units, or engineering battalions. Our units can amass experience and be refitted with new types of weaponry, which makes them more viable and useful on the battlefield. The developers have not introduced any major changes to the mechanics, keeping the classic top-down view and gameplay seen in other installments of the series. Nevertheless, the players are left with more freedom as to the choice of the location and method of approaching the enemy, while our actions are influenced by weather conditions, type of terrain, or well-being and morale of our units. Aside from the single-player campaign, the game introduces an extensive multiplayer component, with head-to-head and cooperation modes. It should be mentioned that Close Combat: The Bloody First is the first installment of the series that uses a 3D graphical engine, which also offers more detailed models and animations of the individual units.

The story of The Souls Project is set in the world of the latter game, although the action takes place in the distant future where the Earth is at the verge of an ecological disaster. In the game, we assume the role of a space colonist, a member of an expedition to find new inhabitable worlds. However, the entire crew dies in a crash, and we find ourselves completely alone on an unknown planet. The gameplay combines typical sandbox survival simulator elements - such as exploration and the necessity of satisfying the character's basic needs — with an extensive story and logical challenges that require smart environment manipulation.

When the woman gets kidnapped, the protagonist discovers that he is only a pawn in an everlasting war between vampire families. Bitten by one such being, the knight struggles to find the beloved woman and save his own soul from eternal damnation. In terms of the mechanics, the game is significantly different from its tabletop predecessor, focusing on fighting with different weapons and using vampire magic - it was only a marginal part of the original Vampire: The Masquerade. On his quest, Cristof meets a variety of NPCs who can join him. Because of the specifics of the genre, each of them is described by a set of statistics, which can be developed when experience is gained.

The third installment in the bestselling series of economic strategy games, this time also available on the Xbox 360 console. Although the series was handed to a different developer, the Bulgarian studio Haemimont Games, the foundations of the gameplay remained unchanged. In the game the player assumes the role of a leader of a small island nation and transforms it into either a democratic paradise or an oppressive dictatorship. The player is tasked with gathering resources, taking care of welfare of the citizens and maintaining diplomatic relations. For the first time in the history of the series the player can directly control the dictator and decide about his looks and abilities. As the leader, one can freely move across the island and directly influence various aspects of the nation. The terrain itself can also be freely shaped. A fully three-dimensional graphics engine provides excellent visual experience.
