The creators faithfully recreated such historical elements as different military units, machines and technologies the ancient nations depended on. As usual, the gameplay is divided into two phases. The player makes large-scope decisions in the turn-based mode featuring the world map - for example, concerning technological development, diplomacy, development of cities or army management. The battles, on the other hand, are played in real time and the player commands particular formations or individual units. Rome: Total War includes the features introduced by the previous installments, such as sieges of cities, reconnaissance or reserves. Apart from the single-player campaign, the game offers multiplayer for up to 8 competitors.

Another incarnation of a minimalistic real-time strategy with RPG elements, developed by an independent studio called noio. Like in the original Kingdom for PC Windows and mobile devices, in Kingdom: Two Crowns, the player assumes the role of a king tasked with taking care of his loyal subjects and providing for them. Unlike the original release, in Kingdom: Two Crowns the player can enjoy both single player and cooperative game modes. During the game, one observes the action from the side perspective. Gameplay revolves around two main aspects – the first one being exploration (during which one can acquire gold they can give to the encountered settlers), while the second one focuses on expanding the settlement by erecting production buildings, creating tools for the settlers, and building diverse fortifications, which prove useful after dusk. During the night, one’s domain is attacked by vicious trolls and the player has to pay careful attention to their crown, because when it falls into enemy hands, the game is over. Luckily, the player can unlock numerous perks on their adventures to stand a better chance against the increasingly powerful foes. The game features simple, yet pleasing pixel-art visuals.

SimCity BuildIt (AND)
Strategy 16 December 2014
A mobile free-to-play strategy game. It is a spin-off of the cult series of economic simulators developed by EA Maxis. Similarly to the full-fledged entries in the series, the player assumes the role of a mayor of a virtual city. Their task is to secure the expansion of the metropolis and the happiness of its inhabitants while also maintaining the budget. During the game the player is raising new buildings, creating power lines and collecting taxes. The gameplay mechanics are slightly different as building each house requires delivering enough materials produced by factories and commercial buildings. Each decision must be taken with the budget and happiness in mind, and each wrong action can have bad consequences to the whole agglomeration. Additionally, the game is a subject to typical limitations of the free-to-play model – each construction and production process requires the player to wait a specific amount of time.

In Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, lets us compete against the AI in single player missions and against other players in the PvP mode.
Clash Royale (AND)
Strategy 02 March 2016
A multiplayer game with MOBA elements from the Finnish Supercell studio, set in a universe of one of the mobile bestsellers – Clash of Clans. Same as there, we play as a ruler whose ambitions go beyond the borders of his country. Gameplay of Clash of Royale comes down to taking part in online skirmishes with other players to overthrow the opposing king. Battles are fought in very simplified form and take place on small arenas, which fit entirely on the smartphone’s or tablet’s screen. During the battles, we send offensive units along set paths, while also making sure to secure our own domain with various spells and defensive units and buildings. The mechanics are complemented by card game features, and the time between fights is spent on collecting the strongest possible deck of cards, each representing the respective units and actions (e.g. casting spells).
