It is the seventh installment in a race game series devoted to Formula 1. As per usual, the game was created by British developer Codemasters, known for such legendary titles, as Colin McRae Rally, TOCA Race Driver, or Micro Machines. Traditionally, you can play through an entire Formula 1 season, taking part in all test sessions, eliminations, and proper races. The game features also a scenario mode and a multiplayer, letting you compete against living opponents.

An enhanced edition of Race Driver: GRID - a game developed by Codemasters and released in 2008. The enhanced edition was created specifically for console users. The game does not bring any changes to the visuals or gameplay mechanics of the original product. An extensive career mode plays the main part here - the player participates in races taking place on the streets of American cities, races against opponents on tracks located in Europe and competes on Japanese roads in the drifting mode.

The player plays the role of a taxi driver, and his task is to transport as many clients as possible within the set time limit.
