BAFTA 2021 Declares Hades the Game of the Year, The Last of Us: Part II With Audience Award

Today, we learned which games received the prestigious British BAFTA awards. The gala was dominated by Hades, which won as many as five awards, including the one for game of the year.

In a nutshell:

  • Hades won the BAFTA award for best game of 2020. It also won the most statuettes (5);
  • Three awards were claimed by The Last of Us: Part II, including the audience award.

Another British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards ceremony for last year's best games is behind us. The BAFTA statuette in the most important category (Game of the Year) was awarded to Supergiant Games' Hades. The story of the escape of the son of the Greek god of death from the underworld won in as much as five categories.

The game defeated, among others, The Last of Us: Part II and Ghost of Tsushima, which were nominated 11 times. Naughty Dog won three awards, while Sucker Punch just one. The full list of winners is presented below.
