Gran Turismo 7 Reviews - Beautiful Racing Game With Intrusive Monetisation

The first reviews of Gran Turismo 7 have appeared online, and for the most part, the reviewers are very pleased. However, many of them point out that Playstation's latest exclusive has a bit too intrusive microtransactions.

Two days remain until the release of Gran Turismo 7, but the embargo on reviews of the game has already been lifted, so the first texts have appeared online. For the most part, they are very positive. It looks like Polyphony Digital has delivered another solid installment of the series while providing PlayStation fans with the second - next to Horizon Forbidden West - noteworthy exclusive in 2022. I encourage you to read our review of the game (see box below), and then take a look at how the title is rated around the world.

Many things came out very well...

The career mode received a lot of praise - according to the reviewers, the career mode is very complex, and completing subsequent races gives a lot of satisfaction and a sense of progress. Many reviews also drew attention to the satisfactory number of licensed cars and a multitude of tuning options.

Many praises were also given to the audiovisuals. The graphics are described as unbelievable. Both the tracks and cars are said to look impressive. Reviewers were also unanimous in their praise for the dynamically changing daylight and weather systems, while overlooking its minor limitations, which were also pointed out by the critics who gave GT7 lower marks.

A lot of warm words were said about the driving model, however. The physics behind the cars is described as very advanced, and according to many, have seen a (r)evolvution compare to what was seen in previous games. Despite this Gran Turismo 7 has also been praised for its approachability, with many reviewers claiming that the new game from Polyphony Digital will be easy to play even for novice drivers.

...some things a bit worse

So why the few 6's and 7's? The microtransactions present in the game are the element that took the most flak. Economy in GT7 is supposedly designed so that at every turn you feel like reaching for your wallet and spending more than what you've already paid for the game. Cars are expensive, and race earnings are small.

In addition, some reviewers have criticized the game for being too casual. Others have given the impression that instead of the game, only the standalone career mode could have been released for Gran Turismo Sport from 2017, as it were, thus confirming that GT7 was released five years too late.

Some also didn't like the music, while others complain about the mediocre car damage model. However, most reviews are positive, so gamers hungry for virtual racing should not be disappointed. As a reminder, Gran Turismo 7 will be released on March 4 exclusively on PS5 and PS4 - also on the latter platform it supposedly looks quite good.
