An Irish singer claims we'll see the announcement of remake of a „big PlayStation game” later this year.
We may get a "big PlayStation game" remake for the Holidays. That's according to Éabha "Ava" McMahon, an Irish singer formerly associated with the band Celtic Woman, during an interview with loca radio station WLR FM as part of Lunchbox broadcast. The artist said that she and composer Michael McGlynn - founder of the band Anúna, associated with Diablo III - "recently" (i.e. a year and a half ago) wrote a song for a game.
More for You:
Of course, McMahon didn't reveal which title she was referring to. The only hint is that - unsurprisingly - her track (which she describes as a "family initiative", as McGlynn's wife and daughter are also involved) is sung in Irish. So we're probably dealing with a game using, if not in outright setting, then occasional elements of folklore from Celtic (or not) mythology, etc.
An additional clue may have been provided by a certain post on Twitter. In August, Japanese composer Yasunori Mitsuda published a tweet with a photo, in which Michael McGlynn and his daughter are getting ready to remotely perform a track for recording. Mitsuda's music could be heard in such series as Chrono, Xeno (including Xenoblade Chronicles) and Shadow Hearts. If we assume that the composer's entry and McMahon's information concern the same project, then it's probably about an instalment of one of the above series. However, we don't have any proof that these two reports are connected - after all, Yasunori Mitsuda doesn't complain about a lack of work.

Éabha McMahon stated that the game will be announced in December. Sony hasn't made any announcements for this month, but The Game Awards 2021 will take place on December 9. The annual industry awards show hosted by Geoff Keighley also features a variety of announcements and footage of upcoming games. For now, we recommend taking this and other rumors with a grain of salt.
