We have prepared for you a summary of The Game Awards gala, gathering all the most important videos shown during this event in one place.
Yesterday, the Game Awards gala was held. As usual, the event was filled with announcements of new games and other interesting materials. We decided that it would be a good idea to gather them all in one place.
The following is a short summary. We have written separate news about many of these games, offering more details, and in such cases we also provide links to these texts.
One of the videos that aroused the greatest emotions was the teaser of the new installment of the Mass Effect series. It suggests that we can expect the return of familiar faces, including Liara.
The new Mass Effect was not the only attraction that BioWare prepared for TGA. There was also a fresh trailer from the next part of Dragon Age.
The Polish studio Flying Wild Hog revealed that it is working on Evil West, an FPS that will combine Wild West setting with supernatural elements.
The gala also featured Among Us, one of the greatest hits of recent months. In a short video a new map was shown for the first time, which the creators are working on. Its action takes place on an aircraft, and the release of the level is expected at the beginning of next year.
A big surprise was the announcement of Perfect Dark, i.e. a new installment of the classic FPS console cycle. The project is being developed by The Initiative, a studio consisting of veterans of such teams as Crystal Dynamics, Rockstar Games, SIE Santa Monica, BioWare and Naughty Dog.
Key people involved in the production of the Dead Space trilogy announced The Callisto Protocol. The game promises to be the spiritual heir to the previous brand from these creators. This means, we will get an SF survival horror. Unfortunately, we will wait for the project until 2022.
Fans of horrors should also be interested in the announcement of the Evil Dead: The Game project, an action game based on the Evil Dead movie series.
Rumors about ARK 2 have been making rounds for some time and it was a surprise that actor Vin Diesel is involved in the project. Moreover, an animated series set in the universe of the series is being created.
Back 4 Blood, a co-op shooter from Turtle Rock, also appeared at the event, conceived as a spiritual heir to the team's most famous project - Left 4 Dead. The project was announced last year, but only at The Game Awards 2020 we saw the first materials, including the first gameplay.
During the gala, The Fullbright Company (Gone Home and Tacoma) revealed its next project. It turned out to be the adventure game Open Roads, which will tell the story of a mother and daughter's car trip.
Open Roads is not the only game revealed at The Game Awards that boasts an atmosphere based on the road movie. The ROAD 96 project, in which we will explore procedurally generated areas, aims at a similar vibe.
Season is also created for adventure game fans. In the game we play as the heroine, who will try to document the world and the civilizations that inhabit it, before all this is destroyed by the upcoming cataclysm.
We've known for some time now that Fatshark, the studio responsible for the well-known Warhammer: Vermintide, is working on a similar co-op shooter, but set in the WH40K universe. At The Game Awards we could finally see how the Warhammer 40,000: Darktide project looks like in action.
Disco Elysium, one of the best RPGs of recent years, will see an expanded version that will enrich the main storyline with an additional area, new characters, missions and skills. All of these improvements will be made available for free to the owners of the base game. The game's PlayStation 4 and PS5 port have also been announced.
The devs at Housemarque presented a new gameplay from Returnal and announced that the game will be released on March 19, 2021.
We could also watch the trailer of It Takes Two, a new game by the devs of A Way Out.
One of the most visually impressive materials shown during the gala was the gameplay trailer of Crimson Desert, an online RPG from the devs of Black Desert.
Sega informed that the PC and Xbox One will get The Yakuza Remastered Collection and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, which are the missing major installments of this series.
The trailer of Fall Guys season 3 was also shown and it was announced that it will debut on December 15, this year.
Another game revealed at the gala turned out to be the online action gameCentury's: Age of Ashes, in which we will take part in dynamic aerial battles of dragons.
For the gala, Amplitude Studio prepared a live-action trailer of the turn-based strategy game Humankind. It was also announced that the game's launch will take place on April 22, 2021.
This year's Game Award also turned out to be an opportunity to see the new trailer of Nier Replicant, a refreshed version of an iconic game from 2010.
We could also see how Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, a turn-based RPG set in the universe of the popular MOBA, looks like in action.
Amplitude Studios announced Endless Dungeon, a new game set in the universe known from the Endless Space series.
There was also a short trailer of Super Meat Boy Forever, which announced that the game will debut on December 23, exclusively in Epic Games Store.
Capcom, in turn, revealed the Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection project, a two-dimensional platformer for the Nintendo Switch, which is a new installment of a classic series.
Also announced was the Gates of Oblivion expansion for the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. The expansion will debut on January 23, 2021.
Square Enix has announced a mobile spin-off to Just Cause. The game will launch in 2021 and will be available for free on Android and iOS devices.
