Steam Tests Option to Play Together Without an Account

Valve has started testing a new Steam client. The beta enables us to check out an enhanced version of the Remote Play Together service, which lets us invite people without an account on the platform to play together.

You may laugh that Valve does not spoil the players with new games, but the company is definitely not idle. This is evidenced by the subsequent improvements to the Steam client, tested by the company. One of them is Remote Play Together, which has long enables gamers to play together in "local" co-op via the Internet. Valve started testing a new version of this service, which will enable us to play with people who do not have not only the game game, but even a Steam account.

To join the beta, go to the "Settings" of the platform through the tab in the upper left corner. Next, in the "Account" section, we search for the "Steam Test Participation" option and select "Steam Beta Update". After restarting the client you will be able to start testing new features. Detailed instructions can be found here.

Cuphead is one of many games with support for Remote Play Together.

If we decide to join the tests, after launching any game supporting Remote Play Together we will find a special link in our friends list, which we will be able to share with a selected person. The service enables us to join the game not only on PC. We can play together with users of Mac, Linux, iOS and Android devices. However, it is still necessary to install at least the free Steam Link app (or Steam itself, if we have an account on that platform). In addition, the link from our friends list enables us to invite only one person not registered on Steam.
