The game can be considered a spin-off created on the side while the developers work on the official sequel to the series. Daybreak Game Company is giving a huge open world to the players, who can shape and develop this environment freely. The gameplay is largely based on the mechanics present in the very popular Minecraft, and the most important aspect of the gameplay is an extensive crafting system, giving access to different tools as the player progresses. These allow the crafting of various things - from simple walls to complex and creativity-driven buildings. Interestingly, the players' creativity is appreciated by the creators, for the best ideas of the virtual architects are transferred to the world of EverQuest Next. What is important, the players' virtual creations are going to look the same in the two games, for both of them utilize the ForgeLight engine.

An espionage action game with distinct RPG elements, developed by Obsidian Entertainment. The player assumes the role of Michael Thorton – a secret agent whose main task is to unravel a conspiracy that threatens the political balance of the entire world. During his adventure, the main protagonist visits different parts of the globe (such as Rome, Moscow, and Taipei), and the task he has been assigned requires him to make difficult decisions, resulting in measurable results later on. In Alpha Protocol: The Espionage RPG the action is presented from a third-person perspective. Key gameplay aspects are the conversations with NPCs that one can handle in three ways (aggressive, professional, and suave) – the approach taken by the player has a direct effect on the interlocutors’ behavior and might result in either acquiring new friends or severing relations with a given organization. Depending on the chosen specialty, missions can be executed in a number of different ways – nothing stands in the player’s way to initiate shootouts; however, it is also worth considering to sneak past enemies and take them down from surprise. As the story progresses, Michael makes use of a constantly growing number of both active and passive skills. Moreover, for each achievement one receives additional perks, which offer stat bonuses and additional experience. The character development system is well complimented with diversified equipment comprising armor, weapons, and gadgets.

The Darkness II

The game provides a continuation to the successful action title developed by Starbreeze AB. Contrary to the first installment (2007), the sequel was created by Digital Extremes - a developer that co-created BioShock 2 and Dark Sector. In The Darkness II, the player assumes the role of Jackie Estacado again, who returns as the Godfather of the Franchetti crime family. Memories of the past won't let him live as someone else however, and the ominous power lying within the protagonist only makes the situation worse. The attack on Jackie and the other members of his family initiates a large-scope gang war, and the mysterious Brotherhood stands behind it all. The game is based on the gameplay formula of its predecessor. Thus Jackie fights his enemies with several types of firearms, but he also makes use of special powers, such as demonic arms, causing chaos in the ranks of the opposition. Additionally, the protagonist's skills can be developed, which is done through buying subsequent talents gathered within a relatively extensive skill tree.

A science-fiction FPP shooter, known as the legendary „in-development” game from the 90s. Human Head Studios, a new developer, had taken over the project from the legendary 3D Realms. The main protagonist of Prey is Tommy, a Native American, who along with his girlfriend and granddad has been kidnapped by Aliens. After waking up on board of an alien spaceship, Tommy decides to takes matters into his own hands and destroy all aliens in his path. Along the way, he discovers further elements of the grim plot, which indicates that an alien race, Trocara, are responsible for creating all life on Earth. The game mixes fast-paced action with original atmosphere, which is mainly generated by the gigantic spaceship and its brilliantly-designed locations, where living tissue has been molded with modern technology, and by original designs of enemies, which are often hybrids of several different organisms. Id Tech 4, a graphic engine used in Doom 3, is responsible for the high-quality visuals of Prey.

While playing, you will traverse vast locations on foot or on horseback, though the pinnacle of gameplay are the spectacular combat sequences, in which you can use the hero’s abilities, developed over time. As compared with the previous game, Deathfinitive Edition sports enhanced graphics with more detailed textures, better animations, and improved lighting and weather effects. In addition to the base game, this release contains all post-launch DLCs.

The mercenary is trying to have his revenge on Mr. Sinister who caused Deadpool to fail in completing one of his contracts. In order to complete his objective, Deadpool joins forces with X-Men and travels with them to Genosha Island where the villain is building an army. The gameplay features dynamic hack’n’slash action focusing on delivering effective combos. The developers had ambitions to show the distinctive humor typical for the comic iteration. The character frequently talks directly to the player, commenting on his actions or giving instructions on how to deal with enemies.

Killzone 2

This time, the player becomes a completely new character – Sergeant Tomas “Sev” Sevchenko – and is tasked with a counterattack against the enemy Helghan faction and capturing their leader, Visari, so he can be brought to justice. As the game debuts on next generation of consoles, the sequel offers great improvement in terms of visual quality, fully destructible environment, dynamically changing weather conditions and improved artificial intelligence – both of enemies and our allies on the battlefield. In comparison to the first Killzone, the number of available weapon types is larger and new vehicles were added.

The game features a multitude of familiar characters and an option to create your own custom character; you can choose their gender, appearance and powers. Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 2 focuses on battles taking place in 3D arenas, during which you use a range of unique attacks and powers derived from the original manga and anime series. The game utilizes the cel-shading technology, just like its first installment, and features the original anime voice actors, but thanks to the capabilities of the new generation devices, the visual and sound layer are much better.

An official expansion for the second installment in The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth series. It requires the basic version of the game to work. The Rise of the Witch-King expansion takes place between the War of the Last Alliance and the journey of the Fellowship of the Ring. This time the developers decided to be more creative and the game tells about the events that J.R.R. Tolkien described rather sparsely. The story of the expansion concentrates on the Witch-king of Angmar whose objective is to conquest the kingdoms of Arnor. The player assumes the role of the titular character and he must build power of his army and participate in the great conquests for the glory of Sauron. The gameplay in The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth II: The Rise of the Witch-King doesn’t differ from the one used in the basic version of the game. However, the expansion offers completely new units (including Thrall Masters and Dark Dunedains) which can be used both during the story campaign and in skirmishes and multiplayer modes. Siege engines appear on the battlefield as well. In addition to that, the races from the basic version of the game received some new units and the AI behavior was greatly improved. The process of character creation has become much clearer and more intuitive.

DiRT 4

Another installment in the popular series of racing games developed by Codemasters. The game expand the concepts its predecessors were based on, adding however, plenty of novelties at the same time. DiRT 4 offers over 50 cars and several kinds of championships - above all, rally events. Furthermore, the Landrush mode makes a re-appearance here, but also rallycross events were included, based on the FIA World Rallycross Championship license. The Joyride complements the game modes, offering various kinds of challenges for the player to enjoy. The Career is the most basic mode - the player creates their own driver, attracts sponsors and develops their team, which gradually gets more and more effective. Apart from that, the game brings a competition-based multiplayer component supervised by the RaceNet service, which makes it possible to organize on-line leagues and tournaments. What is completely new here, is the so-called "Your Stage", which is a special module that allows the player to create their own routes. DiRT 4 utilizes a modified and modernized version of the Ego engine, which is at the source of the game's high-quality visuals.

RoboCop: Rogue City

Armikrog

An extraordinary point-and-click adventure game and a spiritual successor to the legendary The Neverhood, a game developed in 1996 by Doug TenNapel. This new title was created by the author of the original game, who managed to gather nearly entire old staff back together for this project. The story tells of the adventures of a likeable alien named Tommynaut, who survives a spacecraft crash and finds himself on a strange planet, where together with his companion, dog Beak-Beak, the hero gets captured and locked in the titular stronghold of Armikrog. What distinguishes the game, is its unique artwork – in-game locations and character models were made of plasticine and brought to life using time-lapse technique. This time-consuming work was done by a number of puppeteers, animators, and sculptors. Thanks to their work, the developers managed to recreate the unique atmosphere of the original game, which, apart from interesting story and a cast of likeable characters, offered a large doze of wacky humor.

The player is put in the shoes of Paul Prospero - a detective who has developed certain paranormal abilities. The protagonist tries to solve the mystery behind the vanishing of a young boy. The player traverses an extensive, open world - the game is non-linear and the player is free to explore and look for subsequent clues. The game offers many unique mechanics related to making links between different pieces of the puzzle. Walking around the grim areas of Red Creek Valley, the protagonist makes use of his extraordinary abilities, making contact with the dead, experiencing various visions and visiting alternative realities. Utilizing the Unreal Engine 3, the game stands out with its high-quality visuals supported by technologies allowing to convert photographs of real-existing places into digital pictures.

A continuation of the popular racing game series labeled with the name of Colin McRae, a famous racing driver. Contrary to the previous installments of the series that were devoted to classic car racing, this time around, the developers at Codemasters decided to turn their eye to a completely different direction and focus on off-road racing, which was an equally important episode in the career of the legendary Scotsman. Colin McRae DiRT features an extensive career mode in which we can participate in a number of various challenges, starting with off-road special sections to rallycross tournaments and mountain races on the popular Pikes Peak track in Colorado. Depending on the race, we have different types of licensed cars at our disposal. As we drive, the vehicles can be damaged in various ways and are gradually covered with the eponymous dirt. The title also features a multiplayer mode that lets us compete against other players over the Internet.

Another annual entry in the popular soccer series by Konami. Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 develops the ideas from the previous game. Real Touch +, a new system that is responsible for how players handle a ball, now takes more body parts into account. Thanks to that we can see animations that are much more different from each other when players receive a ball, hit it with their heads, dribble etc. Another important change is that matches are now slower which makes the game a little more realistic. Additionally, there is also strategic dribbling which gives more control over the ball and improved set pieces. Besides classic game modes, PES 2018 also brings back Random Selection Match mode which now has more options. Also, the game offers an online co-op mode for two or three people. The graphics are much better when compared with the previous games which means that the game on particular platforms aren't that different from each other.

Void Bastards

Void Bastards is a hybrid of FPS and strategy. We command a gang of prisoners who have to break through a nebula full of shipwrecks. The player makes decisions about subordinates, direction of travel and management of raw materials, and the exploration itself takes place in the style known from FPS.
