They were completely crushed, though, and the player assumes the role of the sole survivor on whom the further fate of the humanity depends. Compared to the original, Quake II is characterized by a significantly richer plot and modified weapon arsenal. The levels were also greatly expanded, following different stylistics than in the previous game. Multiplayer remains the title’s strength. In Quake II, up to 16 players can play in several varied game modes.

A post-apocalyptic old school RPG with a turn based combat system and the debut of the independent studio Stygian Software. Production is inspired mainly by the first installment of the Fallout series. Action of Underrail is set in the far future where Earth's surface has become uninhabitable due to a global disaster, and the remnants of the human race took shelter in an underground structure, that formerly served as an extensive subway network. Players take on the role of one of the survivors, who gets entangled in a conflict between factions competing for control over something that may be the last hope for humanity. Gameplay is shown in isometric perspective and consists of exploring, completing subsequent quests and fighting encountered opponents. Combat is implemented in a turn based system and is deeply tactical in its nature, allowing us to make use of a vast array of weaponry, futuristic gadgets and skills acquired by our hero in the course of the game.

BMW M3 Challenge is a racing game developed by a British studio called Blimey! Games, devoted to the German car manufacturer. BMW M3 Challenge is a completely free game, published by 10tacle Studios. In the game, the players take a seat in a fully professional editions of BMWs. The car can be visually modified – players can, for example, change its chassis color or rims. BMW M3 Challenge offers three types of gameplay: Test Drive, Time Trial, Race Weekend (against up to 15 AI opponents), and Multiplayer Race (against up to 15 online opponents). There are four different variants of the camera, including driver's seat view, and after finishing a race, the player can watch a replay. In BMW M3 Challenge there is one track available: the legendary Nürburgring, recreated with incredible care – much like the cars themselves.

An MMO shooter game played from the first-person view and developed by a studio belonging to Sony Online Entertainment. The game debuted on PCs, but eventually it was also released for PlayStation 4. The game is set on the planet Auraxis, where colonists from Earth are fighting for territory, power, and resources. The players reinforce the ranks of one of the three factions (Terran Republic, New Conglomerate, Vanu Sovereignty). The action takes place on huge maps where thousands of players can meet - each map is filled with bases, outposts, and other places of strategic importance. The size of the battlefield made it necessary to simplify movement. As a result, the players make use of teleports, vehicles, as well as a system of spawning automatically in places where the action is. As the player progresses, their character develops within the character class chosen earlier (each of those serves a purpose and can do their share for the faction not only through eliminating the enemies). PlanetSide 2 utilizes mechanics borrowed from modern-day FPS games. For instance, health partially regenerates in an automatic manner. The experience is complemented by high-quality visuals.

Silent Hunter 5: Battle of the Atlantic

The fifth installment in one of the most popular WWII submarine simulation game series. In Silent Hunter 5 you are sent to the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, where, as the commander of a German U-boat VII, you hunt down the ships of the Allies. There is a dynamic campaign to complete, and your actions, victories and losses affect its outcome. It's worth noting that the campaign also includes historical naval battles. One of the game's novelties is the fully interactive interior of the submarine. In this mode the controls system is similar to that of an FPS game. You can only do one things at a time, which means that you have to rely on your subordinates. Each of them has their own unique character, problems, and abilities. An important factor is your crew's morale. You can also develop your crewmates and the ship itself.

An enhanced edition of an 2014 RPG by Larian Studios, which, unlike the original, appeared not only on PC, but also on consoles. In terms of the story the game is a prequel to the Divinity series. Players control two young Source Hunters, who have to investigate a mysterious death that occurred in one of the cities in realm of Rivellon, and explore a forbidden art of magic in order to counter its effects. When it comes to gameplay mechanics, the game goes back to the roots of the Divinity series employing isometric view. While playing, you command a team of up to 4 characters, navigating through the interactive environment and listening to conversations between your team members. When compared with the original release, Enhanced Edition offers new subplots, new quests and an alternative ending. Furthermore, local co-op mode was added, as well as gamepad support and the game features enhanced audiovisuals.

Transport Fever

Contrary to that title, in Transport Fever the developers decided to offer not only land-based transport management, but aerial and marine transport as well. The goal of this game hasn't changed however - it still is about developing an efficient transport network connecting different locations, and allowing smooth transportation of goods and passengers. In Transport Fever players need to design routes and railways, erect strategic buildings such as railway stations, airports, and docking bays. The network has to be maintained and upgraded to meet the increasing demands of the market. The whole transport empire is strictly dependent on the economy; the game requires a reasonable management of the funds.

Battlerite

An online battle game that combines the features of MOBA and action genres. Battlerite was developed by Swedish studio Stunlock, the creators of Bloodline Champions and Dead Island: Epidemic. The game is focused on fast, intensive battles of two small teams of players. Each participant controls one character selected from a roster of unique warriors. During the game the protagonists are gaining experience and unlock new abilities. In contrast to classic MOBA games like Dota, Battlerite lacks any bases, towers or allied units controlled by artificial intelligence. Instead of that, the title provides open arenas on which the gameplay is focused only on PvP gameplay. The game itself offers an action-focused combat system. The action is presented from a top-down perspective and the mechanics are inspired by shooters and other action games. The crowd present on the arenas is an interesting addition – gaining its favor provides various rewards.

Dead Rising 4

The fourth installment in a series of zombie-themed, third-person action games developed by Capcom. The story campaign brings a continuation to the storylines presented in the first installment. The player assumes the role of Frank West (appeared first in the original game) - a photographer trapped in a town overrun by hordes of zombies. During the Christmas period, he has to somehow survive through a period of several days, waiting for help to arrive. The player explores an open game world and completes many story-based missions and side quests focusing mainly on exterminating large numbers of undead. In combat, the player makes use of everything within the protagonist's reach. However, all the weapons get damaged and destroyed relatively fast, which forces the protagonist to experiment all the time - this means building more and more sophisticated weapons. Apart from the story mode, Dead Rising 4 offers a co-op experience as usual. In this mode, the players face subsequent hordes of zombies side by side.

Scorn

A first-person science fiction horror action game heavily inspired by the works of H.R. Giger, the creator of the xenomorph from the Alien franchise. Scorn takes the players to an unreal world that balances on the verge of dream and reality. It consists of several open locations joined together, built almost exclusively from organic material; each one is characterized by different style and a unique set of logic puzzles. Careful exploration is a very important element of the gameplay, since every thing we accidentally miss can completely change the further course of the game. As we progress, our character masters new skills and finds numerous useful items and weapons. Combat is not the main focus of the gameplay, though, for not every character we encounter is hostile towards us. The main highlight of Scorn is a dense atmosphere of constant anxiety. The production is powered by Unreal Engine 4, and, apart from realistic graphics, features a minimalistic interface which empowers immersion.

Overwatch (2016)

A multiplayer first-person shooter developed by Blizzard and the first production of this genre in the portfolio of the creators of cult series such as Diablo, Warcraft, and Starcraft. The game is set in a future where peace is ensured by the eponymous organization, established decades ago for protection against attacks by renegade robots. When it starts to crumble, torn apart by internal conflicts, its responsibilities are taken over by completely new characters whose roles are assumed by the players. The game focuses on multiplayer team duels which reward performing certain tasks instead of eliminating other characters. A wide array of heroes with different abilities is involved in the combat and, depending on the situation, we can switch our hero several times during one fight. The game does not offer any development of characters' skills and equipment, instead the key to victory are the skills of the players and good teamwork.

A prequel to the iconic Beyond Good & Evil, developed by Ubisoft's in-house studio led by Michel Ancel. The game takes players on a journey to a planetary system called System 3 – the center of intergalactic trade and the most wretched hive of piracy and illegal business. Players get at their disposal an enormous open world, comprising gigantic planets and moons; however, before exploring it, you have to create your own character. During the game, the player can observe how their protagonist climbs the social ladder on his / her journey across the galaxy (you can choose to travel on foot or aboard one of the many available spaceships). The gameplay revolves around completing a diversified story and side missions with a non-linear structure. On top of it all, the game features high-quality visuals and a soundtrack combining many musical genres.

A real-time strategy from the Army Men series, in which we take command of an army of plastic, toy soldiers. In this production we have to deal with the traitor of our faction. The creators prepared a campaign consisting of 15 levels and 8 different arenas (located in a residential building). In the game there is also a multiplayer game.

Eragon
