Jason Schreier: Sony May Reveal PS5 Next Week

Jason Schreier informed, via Bloomberg, that next week Sony may plan a special conference on the next-gen console PS5. The date of the event is subject to change.

Are we to see the appearance of the PS5 in early June?

Despite the fact that Microsoft presented the appearance and specs of its upcoming Xbox Series X console, Sony's fans are still waiting for the presentation of PlayStation 5 (we learned its specs in March). It seems that this will change soon. According to his trusted sources, Jason Schreier, former Kotaku editor and current Bloomberg journalist, found out that the Japanese company may present the PS5 console as soon as next week - on June 3. This coincides with the information he disclosed earlier.

Schreier is usually well informed about industry leaks, but the same source suggests that the presentation date may change. In case of a delay, the conference presenting the appearance of the PS5 console would be held in the coming weeks or months, but no specific date has been set. Moreover, it is not to be expected that Sony will reveal all the details of its next-gen console during the presentation.

The PS5 console may adopt the color scheme of the DualSense.

The latest, still unofficial reports make sense in view of Sony's recent announcements. Relatively recently we had the opportunity to take a look at the DualSense wireless controller and learn a little about its new features. We also here more and more good news PS5's SSD and its dizzying speed, which is praised by game developers and Tim Sweeney, the head of Epic Games, alike. In June, Sony would also present the games being developed for the next generation console, but this date hasn't been officially confirmed (it was only mentioned that they will be presented soon).

The PS5 - as well as the competing Xbox Series X - is scheduled to launch in late 2020. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, Sony does not intend to delay the release of the console, although it can be safely assumed that the first release will be very limited.
