What's New in Xbox Game Pass in 2021?; XCloud PC and iOS Launch Date

Halo Infinite and Psychonauts 2 will be among the games included in Xbox Game Pass offer next year. Microsoft has also confirmed the launch of Project xCloud on PC and - against Apple's assurances - on iOS mobile devices.

Apple threatened that streaming services like Google Stadia would not be available on the company's smartphones and tablets. However, this apparently did not discourage Microsoft. The company announced the launch of Project xCloud in beta version on PC and iOS devices as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in spring 2021. In the latter case, the service will only be available through the browser, which is due to App Store restrictions imposed by Apple's strict control.

Of course, the article on the official Xbox website also mentions the sales of Microsoft's new consoles, which are expected to be excellent (especially in Europe). However, this was mentioned briefly - most of the article focuses on services and games, which is part of Microsoft's often mentioned strategy. It is hardly surprising in the context of the huge popularity of Xbox Game Pass, which is also mentioned in the article. In November, the players spent billions of hours in over 3.8 thousand games from the service's catalogue. This also translated into a twofold increase in user engagement compared to last year.

As far as Microsoft's investment in games is concerned, this is to be reflected in two areas. First of all, the company has announced the launch of further games in Xbox Game Pass next year, including Halo Infinite, Warhammer 40K: Darktide and Psychonauts 2. Of course, no exact dates were given, although there is a short list of confirmed titles. Secondly, the company is also preparing some surprises not mentioned in the article, as well as additional content for already released games. Next year will also bring with it the official incorporation of Bethesda into Xbox Game Studios. This will include a total of 23 development teams, which - as Microsoft promises - will enable the company to provide "something for every kind of gamer".
