Saints Row 2022: The Rod Warrior - walkthrough

The Rod Warrior is the next LARP focused mission in Saints Row. Our walkthrough explains how to acquire the Bowelrod parts, how to sneak your way through Fort Phoenix, how to assemble the Bowelrod and use it to save Eli.

Rewards for completing the mission

1. XP and cash;
2. Bowelrod vehicle - the vehicle you've built during this mission.
3. new weapon: Dustlander Shotgun - the shotgun used by the LARPers;
4. new patterns for weapons and vehicles.

Unlocking the mission

During this mission Eli once again invites you to a LARP. It works similarly to the previous LARP-focused mission, The Dustmoot. You must meet two requirements before unlocking this mission:

1. Building Castle Kraken - we've described it in the Ventures chapter of our guide;
2. Completing all Dustlander Beacons in Castle Kraken, that is, fully completing the venture. To do so, you must reach two specific locations and successfully defend yourself against two enemy onslaughts.

Meeteth with Elijah the Wise

Eli is waiting for you at the Monte Vista viewpoint. After reaching your destination you'll automatically change into your LARP outfit. You must now talk the attack plan through with your allies.

Travel to Bowelrod's lair

Reach your destination - the farm outside the city - in Eli's vehicle. Once you're there, talk to the Keeper.

Acquire the Bowelrod

The Bowelrod is just a regular Sojourn van you must transform into a "war machine". Go back to the woman and take the keys from her.

Head to Fort Phoenix.

Stealth into the camp

The stealth in this mission is rather unusual, as it abides by the LARP's rules. Your character drank an invisibility potion in-game, which means you will only alert enemies in very specific situations.

1. You can let the enemies see you freely - what they can't see is you attacking someone.
2. Sneak up on enemies from behind and execute non-lethal takedowns. Before using a takedown make sure no one's looking at the enemy you're eliminating.

Watch out for the guard on the higher ledge - he's in a good position and can easily spot you eliminating the foes. We recommend taking him down ASAP before going for the enemies at the lower level.

You must dispatch all the enemies marked with red icons. You're in no rush, the "invisibility potion" won't wear off.

Searcheth for a Bowelrod part

After dealing with the guards take a look around the camp. The part you're looking for is in the large chest pictured above, but there's still more things you must find.

Journey to the warehouse

The next location you must visit is the warehouse you can reach on foot. You don't need to sneak around anymore, engage the enemies in combat instead. The LARPers are using fictional, non-lethal weapons. You can swap between them from your weapon wheel and you must remember to restock ammo. You can also take down your enemies in melee and with takedowns.

There are some elite foes here - drain their yellow armor bars before dispatching them.

Grabbeth the part

Clear the warehouse of all enemies. You'll find another large chest here, containing a Bowelrod part.

After collecting the parts, reach your allies' meeting spot.

Journey to the peak of Fort Phoenix

You can reach the peak on foot, without the use of vehicles. There are more enemies along the way - don't try rushing as you can end up triggering several encounters at once.

Grabbeth the part

At the peak there is a final large chest. Open it to get the final Bowelrod part.

Wingsuit-eth to the warehouse

You can now approach the nearby viewpoint. Jump off and use your wingsuit. Glide towards the warehouse, land carefully, and hand over the parts to Neenifer.

Protect Neenifer

You must protect your companion while she's upgrading the Bowelrod. The enemies will attack the warehouse from two directions - watch the radar carefully. Any of your weapons will do here, but try using the most powerful ones.

You must defend yourself until the bar in the upper-left corner is full.

Mount thine Bowelrod

Once the work is done, board the Bowelrod. You must drive it to where Elijah is.

The Bowelrod comes equipped with a unique Roar attack (L1/LB on the controller) you can use to weaken nearby enemies. Drive into enemy groups, use Roar and wait a few seconds for it to recharge. Dispatch all the enemies to save Elijah and complete the mission.
