AC Shadows: Is there eagle vision?
Eagle Sight is a signature mechanic for the Assasins Creed series, so it's no surprise to hear questions about whether it also found its way into the latest AC Shadows. That's what you'll find out in our guide.
The Eagle Vision is a mechanic that allows for gathering information about the environment, such as finding locations, objects or targets, or identifying enemies. Did this distinctive mechanic, which often appeared in previous Assassin's Creed games, was also implemented here? You will find out about this in our Assassin's Creed Shadows guide.

Is the eagle vision in AC Shadows?
The good news for fans of the Assassin's Creed series is that the eagle vision is available in AC Shadows. You will unlock this mechanic quite early, as it happens during the tutorial. Of course, it will serve as a tool that will identify threats, such as enemies, by highlighting them in red, but it will also be used for the identification of main quests, supplies, or rewards.
However, this mechanic is only available for one of the two characters - Naoe. Yasuke does not possess this skill.
Color codes and their meanings
Objects seen with Eagle Vision can light up in one of four colors:
- White - symbolizes solid objects that you can enter and hide in, for example coffins, shrines with a curtain, etc. These are also neutral objects, e.g. places for quick observation and finding locations in the immediate vicinity.
- Blue - indicates the main objective of the mission. Depending on the task, it can be an object, like a key, a place you need to go to, or an important opponent, whose defeat will be crucial to complete the quest.
- Yellow - these are all kinds of building materials needed for the expansion of the hideout, as well as the boxes in which you will find consumables, armor parts, and weapons. In addition, the keys to some locks or chests will also be highlighted in this color.
- Red - in short, it signifies danger, that is, characters who are hostile towards you. These are usually guards who, if they detect you, will start a fight.
Observation and Eagle Vision
You can activate the Eagle Vision at any time during free exploration (by holding R3 on PS5). However, the observation is activated only when you climb a high object in a given location marked with a bird symbol. When you climb on that spot, you will be able to see important points from a distance, such as mission objectives, other observation points, undiscovered locations, and enemies.
Is there an option to scan the environment with an eagle?
In previous installments of Assassin's Creed, you were able to control an eagle and scan the surroundings. However, this option is unavailable in Assasin's Creed Shadows. You can locate objects and threats only as Naoe and Yasuke.
