AC Shadows: Otama or Wakasa?

During one of the main quests in Assassin's Creed Shadows, Naoe will have to decide which of the suspected women is the Golden Teppo. On this page, you will find out whether it is better to pursue Otama or Wakasa, and what are the consequences of making the wrong choice.

Who to accuse of being the Golden Teppo?

During The Tea Ceremony mission (which is part of a larger investigation related to the Golden Teppo), Naoe will participate in a meeting, during which she will examine the identities of three women suspected of murdering her father.

During conversations in the garden, you will be able to get to know the characters of each of the women a bit closer and based on that, make assumptions about which one of them could be the murderer.

After the ceremony, Naoe will face a choice of which woman to accuse of collaborating with Nobunaga. Naoe will immediately reject Satoko, so only Otama and Wakasa will be left to choose from.

The Golden Teppo is Wakasa dressed in a dark robe. If you choose her, the Golden Teppo will invite you to her house. There, pick up the weapon hanging on the wall. During the cut-scene, Naoe will kill Wakasa, and the next name from the Onryo list will be crossed out.

What will happen if you choose wrong?

If you choose wrongly and accuse Otama, you will have to kill the young woman during a chase through the city streets. Naoe will understand her mistake, and the mission indicator will automatically direct you towards the castle in Osaka.

To kill the Golden Teppo, you will have to infiltrate the fortress. For this reason, incorrectly identifying the culprit during the tea ceremony becomes quite problematic.
