Adventure, 2D, Crowdfunding, Indie Games, Post-apocalypse, Singleplayer, Visual Novel.
An adventure game enriched by elements characteristic of visual novels. Exogenesis: Perils of Rebirth takes place in post-apocalyptic Japan. The player assumes the role of a member of a treasure hunter group, who searches for an ancient artifact that can resurrect his dead sister. To find the treasure, the protagonist has to gather a team of similar adventurers, and embark on the dangerous journey. The developers were mainly inspired by games such as Zero Escape or the Ace Attorney series. When it comes to story, the player follows an extensive text narration and from time to time has to choose from a few alternative approaches. These decisions push the plot towards one of several possible outcomes, with each having unique subplots and a separate ending. At the same time, Exogenesis: Perils of Rebirth is different from typical visual novels, offering adventure game sequences that require exploring locations and solving various logic riddles.

The player assumes the role of a warrior who takes part in ruthless street fights against characters controlled by the AI or by other players. In combat, we use various weapons that range from saws, batons, machetes, and crossbows, to pistols and machine guns. The character we create has but his bare fists, but as we progress, we can acquire clothes and weapons. The process can be sped up with optional micropayments. The attack animations in Let it Die are grotesquely brutal and every blow is accompanied by a huge blood splash.

It casts an unusual curse on the protagonist, making her heart always beat in rhythm of a music. As far as its mechanics go, NecroDancer is and old school action RPG. We explore procedurally generated dungeons and fight various monsters using weapons and magic. What makes the game unique is the fact that enemies move to the rhythm of music, and Cadence must adjust to their dance to defeat them. Each enemy she encounters has his unique style, and discovering the correct combination of moves is the key to success.

Heroes & Castles 2 is a mixture of arcade and tower defense games, set in a classic fantasy land. Beside crushing our enemies, we can gather gold and spend it on fixing or upgrading our castle (i.e. higher walls or towers). We can also train units that aid us in battle. An MMO in Medieval setting, classified as a sandbox survival simulator. The game does not introduce a very refined plot; the players' characters, deprived of any memories, find themselves on the coast of a mysterious island, where it's everybody for themselves in the struggle for the royal throne. As in pretty much any survival game, the essential element of the gameplay is the need to obtain food, and the resources necessary to construct simple tools or, eventually, your own fort. The fort serves as a shelter, but it can also be attacked by other players struggling for supremacy on a given game server. Depending on your preferences, you can fight at close quarters or at range. Every confrontation requires an appropriate tactic. The game features a large dose of brutality; dismemberment and decapitation are shown in an extremely graphic manner. The whole production is characterized by detailed, fully three-dimensional visuals and realistic physics.

A World War II-themed online strategy game developed by KAVA Game Studio. The players assume control of a number of four-man teams that are sent to participate in a battle between two factions. Each faction is led by a commander that coordinates the actions of the teams and decides upon their course of action. In opposition to most online strategy games, the battlefield can be joined by up to fifty players at once, with the game allowing 1v1 battles, which are also a viable option. Depending on the chosen side, our goals may slightly differ, but close cooperation and tactical approach are definitely the mainstay of almost every won battle. The battlefield is seen from an isometric view, with additional points of view available to the commander of each side.

The Sims 4: Get to Work is the first big expansion to the fourth game in The Sims series owned and developed by EA Maxis since 2000. Just like the add-ons to the previous games from the series, Get to Work introduces new features to the base game, focusing on the work aspect of our Sims' life. There are three possible career paths available: police officer, scientist, and a doctor. Like in real life, we begin as a regular employee and climb the career ladder until we get what we want. Along with the new professions, EA Maxis introduced new buildings, like the hospital, police station, or a laboratory. Two new skills for our Sims were also added (photography and baking), which we can use, for example, to start our own business. The presence of Aliens makes the game a bit more interesting. They hide among the Sims, and when we discover their real identity, we can travel to a mysterious world.

A sandbox MMORPG set in a dark fantasy world, focusing on PvP mode and interactions between players. We play as a person imprisoned in vast valley, where they must build a shelter, find allies and finally escape. This cannot be achieved without other players, but we also compete with them for resources crucial for survival and achieving our main objective. The Exiled gives us total freedom in developing the abilities of our character, though offensive skills are strictly bound to the weapon and equipment we wield. The battle system promotes good aim, timing and tactical sense. Instead of complex plot and side quests, the players are driven by constant competition with each other and need to protect their resources. On the other hand, working together brings more benefits than rivalry. Each server ends the game after some time and announces its winners.
