Eitr is an action-RPG based on the Norse mythology. It's the first game developed by the British studio Eneme Entertainment. Game's plot focuses on Yggdrasil, the world tree, that connects all of the nine worlds. When it was infected with a poisonous substance, the plague began to spread all over the nine realms. We play as a redheaded female warrior bestowed with powerful abilities by Loki, the trickster god. With those powers, she will try to stop the incoming darkness. We will spend most of our time exploring the game's world, gathering treasures, leveling up our hero, and eliminating hordes of enemies. Combat system in Eitr is much more complex than in other hack'n'slash games. In order to be victorious in battle, we have to perfectly time our attacks, blocks, and dodges. We will also have to pay attention to our hero's positioning and use her abilities wisely.

A space RTS with rougelike elements. In Distant Star: Revenant Fleet players lead the A'kari race that must rebuild its shattered fleet and regain its military power so they can finally face the ruthless Orthani. The gameplay is a little bit similar to the cult classic series Homeworld but the difference here is that the events are not presented in full 3D but from a top-down perspective. Battles take place in a randomly generated galaxy and, depending on the choices made throughout the game, the players can experience a different story. We can choose from many units that can be created from scratch by equipping them with different weapons, on-board systems and special modules. The game gives players a lot of room for tactics and requires them to be able to adapt to circumstances that can change at any moment, which means that the fleet must be constantly upgraded. With battles comes experience that allows the players to unlock new technologies and prepare their armies for the final confrontation.

A browser MMO strategy game from the creators of Tribal Wars. In Elvenar the player joins one of two sides of conflict: humans or elves, and strives to build a prospering metropolis. Each of the two races uses different technologies and offers unique architecture, units, and a bit different gameplay philosophy. For example, elves live in harmony with nature, practice magic and coexist with other fantasy creatures, whereas humans are more of ambitious engineers, who use medieval weapons and technology. The foundation of gameplay is to provide your settlement with wealth and security as well as transform it into a big metropolis. To this end you have to produce food and collect resources, expand buildings, and recruit a strong army that would fight your battles and allow you to explore new territories. In Elvenar you can focus on story-based campaign missions or interact with other players: establish alliances, trade or wage wars with them. Battles are fought in a turn-based system on hexagonal fields. Elvenar stands out from similar games with impressive 3D visuals and high-quality graphics.

Yet another joke simulation game, a genre which, contrary to any logical reasoning, keeps gaining crowds of fans. The hero of this game, developed by an independent team at Bossa Studios, is a slice of bread, and the player’s job is to take it all the way to a toaster. Gameplay mechanics in I Am Bread are pretty complex, the biggest difficulty being controlling all four corners of the toast separately. With these mechanics the “hero” can perform simple moves on any flat surface. The game is played in various rooms, and in order to get the toast to its ultimate destination you can make use of various types of house equipment, e.g. a fan, which makes for an excellent catapult. While playing, you must also supervise two essential statistics of the bread: its edibility and deliciousness. Too much dirt can make the toast completely inedible.

A modern remake of one of the most controversial games in gaming history. Originally, the title came out in 1997 as a debut production from the developer Running With Scissors. Both the gameplay and the premise were inspired by the phrase “going postal” which means to become uncontrollably angry and violent as a result of working a stressful job. In the game, we assume the role of the Postal Dude who hits the streets with an intent of murdering anyone who happens to stand, walk, or sit in his way. The title offers several various levels, in which the innocent civilians will be slaughtered with a vast arsenal of weapons of different caliber and purpose. The new version is powered by Unreal Engine 4, which translates into incomparably better graphics, prettier locations, and more detailed character models. It also offers a cooperation mode. Despite the changes to the technical side of the game, the developers managed to preserve the specific atmosphere of the original.

In the game, developed by Behaviour Interactive, one assumes the role of the titular sponge and his bizarre friends to restore the former glory of their underwater metropolis - Bikini Bottom. Gameplay mechanics build on completing consecutive platform and puzzle challenges, during which a player has to use the unique abilities of all the characters in the game. To move the story forward, the main protagonists can activate their superhero forms that equip them with additional abilities. A player can do all this across twelve elaborate levels, featuring visuals known from the animated TV series. Another positive feature of the game is the omnipresent humor.

Set in a science fiction world, an old-school first-person shooter in a retro style inspired by similar productions from the 90s. In this debut project of Pixel Titans, you take control of a scavenger who suddenly loses a huge space cruiser ICARUS from his radar during one of the scouting missions. He decides to see what is wrong and ends up having to fight for his life on the deck of this humongous ship. Mechanically, Strafe is a dynamic, hard-core shooter in which you have to constantly fight, move, and dodge attacks in order to survive. Additionally, the death of the hero requires you to start everything from the beginning. The diverse locations you visit are, to some degree, procedurally-generated. To make the struggle easier, you get to choose one of three types of weapons, which you can upgrade as you progress. The title also features a simple crafting system and trading.

Simulation, World War II, Internet, Multiplayer, Planes, Singleplayer.

A continuation of the famous combat flight simulator series, Il-2 Sturmovik, developed, like the previous installment in the series, by the team at 777, working under the aegis of 1C Company. As the subtitle suggests, the action of the game once again takes us to the Eastern Front during the World War II, where we are involved in key air operations of the turn of 1941 and 1942, including the eponymous battle of Moscow. In terms of mechanics the game does not introduce any changes when compared with its predecessor released year and a half earlier, offering a somewhat simplified model of control. During the game we can join one of the parties of the conflict (Russians or Germans), each providing us eight brand new machines, including: I-16 type 24, MiG-3, Il-2 model 1941, and Pe-2 35 series (the Russian side) and Bf 109 E-7, Bf 109 F-2, Bf 110 E-2, and Ju 88 A-4 (German side). The game also offers the option to unlock additional aircraft for a fee.

Devious Dungeon 2 is a platform game released on mobile platforms. It takes place in the same fantasy land as the first game from the series and, like previously, game's world is presented as 2D retro-stylized maps. To finish each level, we have to find a key that unlocks a portal. Many traps and enemies will try to stop us from doing so. The RPG elements allow us to spend the experience points we gained on leveling up our character. There are three heroes available in Devious Dungeon 2, each of them having their own class, skills, and equipment. We can choose to play as a barbarian, a rogue, or a mage. Barbarian uses the heaviest pieces of equipment and is more resistant to damage. Rogue is the fastest hero who can do double jumps. Mage has access to many useful spells, like levitation.

A mobile real-time strategy game and the first production by Substantial Games. The Ember Conflict is set in a fantasy land, but unlike many similar games, it does not feature a story campaign, focusing entirely on multiplayer battles (one-on-one and two-on-two). The battles are short, up to several minutes long. The controls in The Ember Conflict are gesture-based, and you lead your troops by drawing lines on the screen. You can lead a group of up to six characters, and you choose them from eighteen available types. To make things more interesting, you can modify their equipment. The battles take place on detailed 3D maps, and to win you often have to take the topography into account. It should be noted that soon after the game's release, Substantial Games was dissolved and the game servers have been closed.

An unusual online free-to-play game that combines real-time strategy and MOBA. Battle Battalions (previously known as Victory or Victory Command) was designed by Petroglyph, an experienced developer, formerly a part of the legendary Westwood Studios (known for the Command & Conquer series). The game is set in modern day, although it does not refer to any actual armed conflicts. The game focuses on clashes of two 5-player teams, in which everyone commands a selected battalion of several types: infantry, recon vehicles, or tanks. Each of these is further split into several subgroups possessing unique characteristics. The main focus of gameplay lies in the dynamic, spectacular battles that last no more than 10 minutes. Despite that, the gameplay features significant tactical depth, requiring strategic thinking and cooperation between team members, as well as proper usa of the potential of individual battalions.

The Sims 4: Get to Work is the first big expansion to the fourth game in The Sims series owned and developed by EA Maxis since 2000. Just like the add-ons to the previous games from the series, Get to Work introduces new features to the base game, focusing on the work aspect of our Sims' life. There are three possible career paths available: police officer, scientist, and a doctor. Like in real life, we begin as a regular employee and climb the career ladder until we get what we want. Along with the new professions, EA Maxis introduced new buildings, like the hospital, police station, or a laboratory. Two new skills for our Sims were also added (photography and baking), which we can use, for example, to start our own business. The presence of Aliens makes the game a bit more interesting. They hide among the Sims, and when we discover their real identity, we can travel to a mysterious world.

Considered the spiritual successor to the classic Ultima Underworld, Underworld Ascendant is a first-person cRPG developed by OtherSide Entertainment, a team led by Paul Neurath - the co-creator of Ultima. The game is set in the Stygian Abyss, a place known among the fans of the series - an underground world inhabited by three races that fight for power. Assuming the role of a character described by one of the three available classes, the player picks one side of the conflict in order to experience an epic adventure in a world filled with underground towns, mazes, temples, huge cavern systems, as well as dense forests. The game is played from the first-person view; as for combat, the game utilizes a real-time system which involves use of traditional weapons and spells. Apart from individual skills of one's character, in order to succeed, one also has to pay attention to their mobility, reflexes, and the ability to take advantage of the shape of terrain. What is distinctive about the game, the player is given a lot of freedom concerning their approach to gameplay, and the events change in a dynamic way in response to the player's actions.
