A continuation of the futuristic FPS horror developed by BadFly Interactive. The plot of Dead Effect 2 follows the events from the first installment – again you find yourself in the distant future on the deck of space ship ESS Meridian, the crew of which turned into bloodthirsty zombies. This time the player faces a much greater evil, that hides inside the vessel and threatens every survivor’s life and sanity. Compared to the first part of the game, mechanics of Dead Effect 2 are basically the same and again concentrate on ship exploration and fighting monsters. From time to time you come across logic puzzles and boss battles. Of course, the game introduces new locations, enemies, and additional types of customizable weapons. Moreover, each of the three playable characters can be developed with a variety cybernetic implants.

The fourth installment in one of the most famous 4X space strategy series. Conquer the Stars goes back to the roots of the franchise, marking the series’ reboot. It was developed by the creators of World of Tanks - Wargaming, who bought the IP rights from the bankrupting Atari company. In terms of gameplay, the game is close to what the previous installments accustomed us to. Using turn-based mechanics you have to colonize planets, develop various technologies, and establish diplomatic relations with alien races – 13 of them in total (all of them appeared in previous games). In the game you get to visit 20 planetary systems and over a hundred stars. There are also nearly 100 unique technologies to discover and 24 buildings to construct. In comparison with the previous editions, Conquer the Stars features modern audiovisuals and slightly modified user interface.

A digitally distributed free-to-play MMO developed by Russian studio Gaijin Entertainment – creators of such titles as X-Blades, Wings of Prey, and War Thunder. Gameplay mechanics combines large-scale battles known from World of Tanks with post-apocalyptic setting inspired by the Mad Max movies. Crossout is set in a future world devastated by an alien invasion and genetic experiments. Players have to survive in this hostile environment and take part in rivalry of armored vehicles. When beginning the game, you get a simple jeep with a basic, mounted gun, but as you progress you can turn it into a massive monster truck – a mobile fortress that strikes fear in other players’ hearts. The game offers a variety of modifications, starting with different shapes of armor, weapons and side systems, through to esthetic additions.

A spin-off installment of the racing game series from Codemasters, which, contrary to the major installments in the franchise, puts emphasis on crazier, purely arcade, and much more spectacular gameplay. Some of its features, namely the Gymkhan mode, have already appeared in DiRT 3. In the game, we take part in a grand motorshow and compete in several game modes divided into three categories. The first one is traditional racing (Lap Attack, Eliminator, Domination), the second, the Hooningan’s challenges, involves breaking objects or performing various stunts. However, at the core of DiRT Showdown is the demolition mode where we compete in special arenas, and our task is to survive, while eliminating as many opponents as possible. Implementing new game modes, the developers took care of more spectacular damage model, thanks to which our vehicles spectacularly break apart during the competition.

Another installment of the popular FPP shooter series created in 2004 by the Polish studio People Can Fly. The game was developed by the team at The Farm 51, founded by people involved in the creation of the original. The players assume the role of Daniel Garner who died in a car crash along with his wife. The protagonist is tasked with dealing with infernal hordes, which will allow him to redeem himself and join his beloved in the afterlife. At the core of Painkiller Hell & Damnation lies combat against swarms of enemies, although we also have to face a powerful boss every now and then. On the battlefield, we make use of a rich arsenal – the so-called Soulcatcher, which is a tool that lets us gather souls of fallen enemies and shot laser beams, makes a successful debut. Apart from the single-player campaign, the developers created an extensive multiplayer mode that includes such modules as Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Survival. We can also finish Garner’s adventure in cooperation with another player. The title is powered by Unreal Engine 3, which allowed the developers to achieve satisfying quality of graphics.

It has been prepared by the creators of the original title, an experienced developer of budget productions, PopCap Games studio. The main theme of the series is an invasion of the undead, who are craving for human brains and have formed a powerful army to achieve this objective. But once again, smart plants (and their owner) stand in their way, armed with the strangest of weapons that can foil zombies’ plans. The gameplay comes down to securing subsequent patches of our lawn in a way that will prevent brain-eating monsters from reaching their target. The sequel offers even greater variety of fields and plants, not to mention black humor, typical feat of the series.

The story campaign in Rambo: The Video Game consists of a series of missions inspired by movies First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II and Rambo III. The player can fight soulless law enforcers in Hope city, free the captives held in Vietnamese jungle and help the Afghan guerillas. The base of the game are dynamical sequences during which the player must eliminate opponents by guiding a crosshair on them and pulling the trigger. The developers created various weapons which the title character can use. They also used original dialogues from the movies.

The action is set in the eponymous Blackgate prison, where Batman has to quell an inmate riot. Arkham Origins Blackgate is a classical beat ‘em up fighting game. We observe the events from a side view and have a limited ability to move in third dimension. The gameplay focuses on exploration, fighting regular opponents and bosses, as well as interactions with characters and environment. As usual, Batman has a wide variety of characteristic gadgets at his disposal. The game also offers detective and predator modes, known from the previous installments in the series.

It soon turns out that the island is swarming with unknown military forces. On his own, the protagonist has to stay alive and find a way out of the island at all costs. Similar to the original game, Far Cry Classic offers full freedom of exploration and interaction with the environment. The player completes a set of diversified missions, making use of a multiplicity of weapons and gadgets. In contrast to the original game though, Far Cry Classic features only the single player campaign - the remake was completely deprived of multiplayer modes.

We control a selected plant and try to protect our defensive structures against incoming hordes of enemies. The game focuses on cooperation and teamwork, and the proper usage of each plant’s properties, like healing or floating above the ground, are the key to success. Compared to main Plants vs. Zombies games, Garden Warfare offers high-quality visuals running on Frostbite engine, the technology used e.g. in the Battlefield series.

In the game, you explore a fantasy-medieval world inhabited by animals. Your task is to reach the island of Preiclave, once a lodgment of a powerful rat army, now an abandoned and haunted place. You also need to discover what happened on the island and find the treasure, which is said to be hidden in the local tower. The game focuses both on exploration, during which you find clues and uncover the island's secrets, and on combat. Doing both of those earns you experience points, which allow you to develop your character. Ghost of a Tale also features a multitude of references to young adult and children's literature as well as popular video games.

Set in the cold war reality, spy platform game with stealth elements. The title is a debut of an independent studio Dynamighty, which includes former employees of LucasArts and Pixar movie studio. During the game we play as an agent of elite organization whose task is to take care of the balance of power between the superpowers and prevent the outbreak of an open armed conflict. In subsequent missions we sabotage both Russia and the United States by infiltrating secret military bases and neutralizing weapons of mass destruction hidden there.
