It means that during the game player travels through a network of enclosed dungeons, catacombs and sewers.

A unique cRPG with isometric view, developed by the experienced Microprose studio. It doesn’t take the players to a typical fantasy world, but is rather set in XV century’s Germany. Authors also tried to adhere to historical facts, such as the growing influence of catholic church or the Inquisition. Darklands doesn’t feature a clear plotline, offering unbounded freedom of playing and fulfilling quests instead.
