A science-fiction, sandbox action game with a focus on multiplayer mode. It was developed by Hello Games, a company known for Joe Danger. The game is set in the distant future in the yet uncharted parts of the cosmos, and the gameplay is presented in two forms. We explore the corners of the universe piloting a spacecraft like we do in typical space-sim games. Upon landing on a newly discovered planet, the game switches to first-person view. The devs emphasize the complete freedom given to the player during exploration. While visiting places featuring different animals, plants, or even varying compositions of the planet's atmosphere, we can focus on exploration, gathering raw materials, or fighting against various predators. An important element of the game is the system of the world's procedural generation.

Star Wars: Battlefront II is a sequel to the 2015 multiplayer FPS game and the fourth game in the cult series that was started eleven years earlier by Pandemic. Unlike the previous game, Battlefront II offers both a complex multiplayer mode and a single player campaign set right after the destruction of the second Death Star. Iden Versio, the game's protagonist and the leader of the Empire's special forces, is given the task of avenging the Emperor. Different studios developed different parts of the game. The single player campaign was created by studio Motive, lead by Jade Raymond. Space battles were created by Criterion, and the multiplayer mode, key element of the game, was developed by DICE. Up to forty players can take part in online battles and play one of the four available classes. Additionally, we can customize characters, vehicles, and gadgets. It is worth mentioning that the game presents more than the original trilogy (episodes IV-VI). We will meet, and play as, heroes from different eras of the Star Wars universe, like Rey and Kylo Ren from The Force Awakens or Darth Maul from The Phantom Menace.

A continuation of a 2012's highly-rated, turn-based 4X space strategy game by Amplitude studio. The action of Endless Space 2 takes us once again into the distant future where we can take part in a galactic conflict between the great races fighting struggling for control over a fragment of the universe. Both our empire management and battles take place in a turn-based system, and the player's task is to explore the universe, take control of individual planets, create a functioning economy, develop new technologies, and establish trade and diplomatic relations. The military aspect plays a key role in the game, featuring an advanced ship construction module, allowing us to personally choose the individual components of our ship. The game's virtual universe is randomly generated, providing unique adventures and challenges with each new game.

A space real-time strategy game set in the popular science-fiction universe created by Games Workshop, initially for tabletop battle games. It was developed by Tindalos Interactive, an independent French studio known mostly for Stellar Impact. The action takes us to the war-torn world of Wahammer 40,000, where 4 powerful factions — Imperium, Chaos, Eldar and Orks — fight for dominance in the Gothic sector. The players assume control over a fleet of the chosen side. Available units include vessels of various size and purpose – from fast frigates to majestic warships. The gameplay focuses on fighting large-scale battles, during which our units and their personnel gain experience that can be then traded for new special abilities as well as enhancements for weapons, defensive systems, and the like. The game offers attractive graphics powered by Unreal Engine 4.

The fourth installment in the Elite series. The game is a space simulator created again by David Braben and the Frontier studio. Elite: Dangerous is set in the far future; after humanity had colonized countless star systems, the Universe is dominated by three superpowers: the Empire, the Federation, and the Alliance. Brave pilots seek easy money working beyond the territories controlled by these entities. The open-world game structure offers the players large amounts of freedom when it comes to exploration, trading or completing military assignments. Instead of the classic division into the solo and multiplayer modes, the creators of Elite: Dangerous allow the player to join their friends or return to single-player experience at any time.

A real-time strategy developed by Petroglyph. The action of Empire At War takes place two years before the events seen in the fourth film, with some parts of the plot invoking the story from Revenge of the Sith. The game itself enables us to control both Rebel Forces and Galactic Empire in a quest to control the whole galaxy. The campaign consists of two phases: turn-based planning and real-time battles in three-dimensional environment. The available locations include numerous planets such as Alderaan, Dantooine, Endor, or Hoth, as well as outer space areas that see the clashes of powerful fleets. Both faction sport trademark units, including Star Destroyers, AT-AT and AT-ST walkers, or agile snowspeeders. Aside from a single player campaign, the developers introduced a number of multiplayer modes.

Set in science fiction realities, an MMO simulator developed by Crowd Control Productions from Iceland. The action of EVE Online takes place in a universe called New Eden, which consists of over 5,000 star systems. On the beginning of the adventure you create your own hero by choosing his/her e.g. face, past, and origin. At first you get just a small spaceship and some credits. Your mission is to explore remote places of the universe in order to complete various story missions given by NPCs. These independent characters represent a broad spectrum of factions in which you gradually build up your position. With progress, you successively develop your avatar by acquiring new skills. The game also features ship customization. You can also upgrade vessels with new modules that influence performance, weaponry, and armor. There is no idleness in space, as creators constantly add new missions and challenges.

It resulted in a certain kind of gold fever — people started to explore other planets on their own, driven by the desire of getting rich quick. The open world of the game is procedurally generated, and the surfaces of planets and moons are made of voxels. You play as an astronaut equipped with tools allowing them to dig holes in order to find resources and artifacts, which can be then sold or used to create new items thanks to an expansive crafting system. The system allows not only to make and modify useful equipment and vehicles, but also to build bases. The planets featured in the game vary in terms of gravity, resources, and possible dangers. The game features both a single player mode and a multiplayer mode.

Starlink: Battle for Atlas is a science fiction action game developed by Ubisoft. The game takes place in a distant future in the titular Atlas planetary system, a place full of breathtaking alien worlds. This part of the galaxy is on the brink of destruction due to the invasion of the machines known as the Forgotten Legion. Our job is to stop the machines and defeat their leader, Grax. Starlink: Battle for Atlas is an action game where we control our own, self-made space ship. We use it to fight not only in space, but also in the atmosphere of many planets. The game’s world is open and dynamic, and changes under the influence of ours and our antagonists' decisions. What makes Starlink: Battle for Atlas a unique game is the fact that it is integrated with spaceship minifigures that are sold separately. Those minifigures are modular, which allows us to manually change their parts and pilots. These changes are instantly taken to the virtual world.

This add-on continues the story from the base game – Tyber Zahn takes advantage of the turmoil caused by the destruction of the first Death Star in an attempt to become the most influential villain in the whole galaxy, surpassing even Jabba the Hutt. In Star Wars: Empire at War – Forces of Corruption players get an entirely new faction at their disposal, which is at war with both the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. The aforementioned faction, called the Underworld Organization, is able to spy and sabotage hostile factions e.g. by limiting their unit production. This is the debut from the independent developer Squad. The game is an unusual simulator requiring the player to develop their own space program from scratch. Kerbal Space Program combines features of many genres, but the most important part here is an extensive ship editor, which allows the player to design and build their own, unique spacecraft. The ship is then supposed to fly and land safely on a moon of the Kerbin planet. The spaceship is built from various elements - each of them affects it in flight and serves a specific purpose. Thanks to a realistic flight model, the player is capable of observing the effects of their work and monitoring a set of parameters describing the ship. Apart from the basic, sandbox mode, the game offers a set of story missions requiring the player to recruit a team, conduct research, build bases and visit dozens of planets.

The skirmishes – similarly as the whole game – are turn-based and the player’s actions are limited to supporting his troops or weakening the opponent with special action cards. A space strategy set in a popular universe created in a 1978 TV series. Developed by Black Lab Games, Battlestar Galactica Deadlock gives us an opportunity to assume control of the Colonial Fleet and to take part in a war against the Cylons - a race of man-made cybernetic machines that have rebelled against their creators. The game features both completely new characters and figures the fans of the universe are surely familiar with - however, the story was executed in a way that will not confuse those new to the universe. The player takes part in tactical battles set in a three-dimensional environment. Furthermore, the player recruits officers, conducts political actions within the Cyrannus planetary system, but also expands their fleet alongside progression, based on the unlocked spaceship designs. Apart from the single-player component, the game offers a complex multiplayer mode which allows the player to fight 1v1 duels against commanders from all over the world. All of this is complemented by decent-quality visuals.

Homeworld Remastered Collection is a remastered edition of the space strategy that wast first developed in 1999 by Relic Entertainment. The game was rejuvenated by Gearbox Software, studio known for the game series Borderlands and Brothers in Arms. We follow the history of Kushan, a forgotten race that was attacked by an alien civilization and almost entirely wiped out. However, over six hundred thousand of Kushans survived in the hypersleep chambers of a gigantic Mothership. They decided to rebuild their civilization and face the old enemy. In terms of mechanics, Homeworld Remastered Collection is a classic real-time strategy game that takes place in 3D rendered space. In the new version of the game, visuals were significantly improved (now the game uses HD textures). Cutscenes were also redrawn. Multiplayer mode was improved, and the game's OST was remastered under the watchful eye of its composer.

Stellaris: Synthetic Down is an expansion to 4X strategy Stellaris from Paradox Development Studio focused on enhancing content of the game with revolutionary changes to gameplay. DLC requires the base version of Stellaris and enriches it with the option of playing as the machine empire – a civilization consisting solely of robots. Developers prepared four types of factions, some with neutral approach towards living creatures, others thinking of them as a plague that must be purged, and yet another that will think of them as adorable pets, taking care of their needs, but not letting them make major decisions. Add-on also introduces a new Fallen Empire in the form of an ancient mechanical race, and changes the course of robot rebellion, letting us choose to stay with our current race or lead the mechanical rebels.
