PaRappa the Rapper Remastered is a remaster of the music game released on PlayStation in 1996 and on PSP ten years later. We play as the titular rapping dog who tries his best to win the heart of his crush, Sunny Funny. PaRappa is aided by his two friends, cat enthusiast Katy Kat and the chubby bear PJ Berri, in his musical stunts. Gameplay did not change at all and remains the same as in the original game: PaRappa has to do many things to impress Sunny Funny. All of that happens to the beat of music and requires the players to have a sense of rhythm and good knowledge of the game's controls. The biggest improvement introduced by the remaster are the game's visuals, which are now in much higher resolution. The game also allows us to use the DualShock 4 controller as a metronome.

Similarly to Guitar Hero or Rock Band, it uses a vertical board divided into several tracks where colorful bricks appear and move down towards the bottom. Each track is assigned a gamepad button which we have to press when a brick is in the corresponding field. DJMAX Respect features a hundred songs taken from DJMAX Portable and DJMAX Portable 2. The music library can be also expanded by buying additional tunes in the form of DLC. Apart from a standard arcade mode, in which we select songs from the list, DJMAX Respect offers a campaign that consists of a number of missions that add different kinds of limitations and difficulties. The work of a one-man Canadian studio Brace Yourself Games in the form of a unique independent production that combines features of seemingly contrasting elements of a roguelike RPG and a dancing game. Crypt of the NecroDancer lets us play as a girl named Cadence, who sets on a journey to find her missing father. It leads her to the mysterious crypt ruled by an evil demon known as NecroDancer. It casts an unusual curse on the protagonist, making her heart always beat in rhythm of a music. As far as its mechanics go, NecroDancer is and old school action RPG. We explore procedurally generated dungeons and fight various monsters using weapons and magic. What makes the game unique is the fact that enemies move to the rhythm of music, and Cadence must adjust to their dance to defeat them. Each enemy she encounters has his unique style, and discovering the correct combination of moves is the key to success.

The ship’s movements can be controlled with the analog sticks. The player is tasked with following the precise track and sticking to a white ribbon, which boosts the score multiplier. Occasionally, the player has to face powerful bosses – fighting these foes revolves around weakening their armor and pieces of skeleton. The key to success lies not only in good reflexes and agility but also good hearing, as the gameplay is accompanied by an audio layer – the more aligned with the rhythm player’s actions are, the higher he scores.

An unusual, rare combination of an autorunner with a narrative rhythmical game, developed by Digixart Entertainment studio led by Yoan Fanise, former Ubisoft employee and the creator of Valiant Hearts. The story of Lost in Harmony: Kaito’s Adventure is set in an unknown futuristic world, across which the protagonist – young boy named Kaito – rides on his skateboard, carrying his friend, Aya, on his back. Each chapter represents one of the hero's phobias, such as fear of water, heights, or crowds. Kaito’s skateboard moves automatically, and the player has to avoid various obstacles by turning right, left, or jumping in right moments. However, all of this is directly connected to the background music, which not only affects the gameplay, but is also used for storytelling and expressing character’s emotions.
