A turn-based RPG set in a world taken over by zombies. Dead Age is developed by Silent Dreams, the developer responsible for e.g. The Dark Eye: Skilltree Saga and the Grotesque Tactics series. The player’s objective is make sure a group of survivors remains safe. Gameplay offers freedom, and your decisions lead to one of six alternative endings. At the beginning you arrive at the survivor’s camp, which you need to expand and provide with a substantial amount of resources, like food, medicines, weapons, and building materials. To do so, you have to step outside your shelter and face hordes of zombies and bandits. Combat in Dead Age is turn-based and to some extent resembles that in the Final Fantasy franchise. Relations between characters - friendships, romances, and quarrels - along with alliances with other groups of survivors have an enormous influence on the course of battles. Gameplay is complemented with random missions, NPCs you come across, and the fact that the death of characters is permanent.

A sequel to the 2013 survival horror game How to Survive. The game, developed by Eko Software, is set in New Orleans, where the virus known from the first installment has turned people into zombies. The survivors have to fight for their lives and form teams in order to search for water, shelter, and useful items. The mechanics remained mostly the same, and the game places emphasis on the crafting system and character skill trees. How to Survive 2 utilizes an isometric view, and a huge part of the gameplay is once again fighting with zombies with the use of various weapons, including handmade ones, crafted from the elements you find in the game. Compared to the original, the game features as expanded multiplayer mode, allowing for camps consisting of up to 16 players, and the co-op mode for up to 4 players.

An online survival game developed by Free Reign Entertainment, a studio established by the creator of Infestation: Survivor Stories and Romero's Aftermath. The action of Shattered Skies takes place on Earth, devastated by a space cataclysm — the Moon was smashed to pieces by a comet, while our planet was infested with an alien life form that degraded the environment and turned people into monsters. The players assume the role of one of the few survivors, whose only choice is to fight for their lives. The threats include not only the monsters but also other participants. On the other hand, the interactions between players do not boil down to competition — we might as well cooperate or trade items. In Shattered Skies, it is essential to traverse open locations in search of food, water, and anything useful. While resting, it is best to head to a survivors’ camp or, if that’s impossible, barricade ourselves in some building, barring the windows and setting up traps.

This requires the player to gather supplies and resources. The former enables the player to maintain good health and the latter enables them to construct buildings and equipment by using a simple crafting system. The protagonist has to face many dangers, including wild animals, undead and mutants. The battles are played in real time, utilizing an action-based combat system. The dynamic day and night cycle makes survival harder. The game also features multiplayer mode, in which the players can face each other on special arenas.

The game features several different characters to choose from. The inside of the hotel is generated randomly. The gameplay combines elements of survival with action sequences, in which you fight against mutants. As you play, you have to constantly keep an eye out for water and food, as well as upgrades for your ‘base’ – the aforementioned top floor apartment. In addition, the game features a crafting system, letting you construct new items and upgrade your gear.

A science-fiction sandbox action game developed by independent studio BitMonster. In GRAV the players are tasked with exploring alien planets, gathering resources required for surviving and fighting aliens and examples of local fauna. The surface of planets is generated procedurally by a special system that makes sure they are filled with plants, animals and various biomes – from skyscraping mountaintops to underground caves. During the game player discovers interesting places and participates in various dynamically generated events. As in typical sandbox games, the player can construct various items, including vehicles useful for exploration and powerful bases which provide place where one can hide from attacks. The gameplay is focused only on multiplayer mode and the arcade fighting system is similar to one used in typical third-person perspective shooters.

We play as a heroine who found herself on a Mediterranean island, not knowing how, why, and by whom she was kidnapped. She must uncover the truth behind this event and escape. Die Young employs first-person perspective and focuses on exploration. Aside from that, the protagonist must fight for survival, gathering food, water and useful equipment. Because she can’t use any weapons, our heroine is forced to run from dangers and climb on her surroundings to avoid danger – otherwise, she will meet a horrible end at the hands of opponents, with decapitations with axe being common scenes. What makes Die Young stand out from other games from the genre are its high-quality visuals, with detailed, moved by wind plants.

The Darwin Project, just like other similar games, takes place on a big arena where players fight each other until only one of them is left alive. Each playable character has their own unique abilities, strengths and weaknesses. The environment in which the game takes place can be as hostile (or even more) as other players. The Darwin Project uses the Microsoft's Mixer streaming system which allows the viewers to influence the outcome of the game by, for example, giving their favorite player a shield.
