Developed by Butterscotch Shenanigans, Crashlands is an action adventure game with RPG elements, gameplay-wise similar to another popular title, Don’t Starve. You explore a vast, diverse world filled with plants, wildlife, and numerous dangers. The game does not set any specific goal for you to achieve; the player’s main objective focuses solely on survival. This necessitates exploration of new regions, gathering resources and food, as well as raising buildings, and crafting useful items and weapons. Gameplay is based on three basic activities: find, act, and build. In Crashlands you can go fishing, grow crops, tame animals, and fight opponents using the equipment you constructed and upgraded with the in-game crafting system. The game stands out with its colorful, cartoonish artwork. Crashlands employs the popular free-to-play business model with microtransactions.

A refreshed version of the classic action adventure game that was released in 2005. The new version was prepared by the creators of the original title, Icepick Lodge, as a side project to a complete remake of the game. The plot of Pathologic Classic HD is same as in the original game and it focuses on a mysterious virus that spreads across a small city, causing many casualties. When the authorities decide to seek out help from outside, three different characters arrive in the city and try to solve the mystery during the next twelve days. The game is story-driven and focuses on adventure aspects. What makes it different from other games is the fact that two non-playable characters are acting parallel to achieve the same objective as the player. All three characters are frequently getting in each other’s way. In contrast to the original game, the new version features refreshed, high-resolution graphics. The developers have also fixed many of the bugs of the original game and recorded a new version of dubbed dialogue sequences.

A turn-based strategy game with survival elements, set in near post-apocalyptic future. Earth has been invaded by nightmarish legendary monsters that ruined the cities and slaughtered almost all humans. The survivors hide in fortified metropolises and small, forgotten villages, hoping to live through at least one day more. You play as a person, who wakes from cryogenic sleep and wants to find out who they are and what happened to humanity. Despite the sandbox character, the production features an expansive plot and encourages you to explore the in-game world in many ways. After creating your character, you start searching for food, valuable items, and shelter. You have to be wary of not only bloodthirsty monsters, but also bad weather conditions, injuries, viruses and bacteria, which can infect and kill you. You can craft items, hack equipment, and track and hunt animals. Your enemies are controlled by an advanced AI, which makes them real killing machines. The combat is turn-based and takes place on a map divided into hexagons. NEO Scavengers also features a permadeath system.

The other one involves exploration and fighting. Once in a while, you will stop at different places to thoroughly search them. Outside the train you can come across a variety of useful objects, or meet other survivors, but you will also stumble upon bloodthirsty creatures, which will need an immediate introduction to your broad arsenal of weapons.

A survival simulator that emphasizes multiplayer. It is the first major production by Bankroll, an Australian developer studio. The player character finds himself at a vast desert plain and his task is to survive in this hostile environment. The game focuses primarily on survival aspects and the most important thing is to ensure that the protagonist has his basic needs satisfied and protected from such hazards as hunger, thirst, fatigue, radiation, or changing weather conditions. From among other titles in the genre, Hurtworld is distinguished by a protection system that evens out the chances of beginners and seasoned players. Another noteworthy feature is the punishment system — should a character who has killed many rivals die, he loses more valuable equipment than the others.

Thea 2 takes us to the same fantasy land as the previous game, where we will find many inspirations from the Slavic mythology. We play as one of the gods who, with the help of his or her chosen heroes, tries to survive in the land of Thea. In terms of gameplay, Thea 2 is an evolution of the mechanics from the first game in the series. We can play in the style of a nomad, focusing only on expeditions and adventures, or have a more strategic approach and build many villages and join the conquered territories to our kingdom. Gathering resources is crucial in Thea 2: The Shattering. We use them in the game's complex crafting system. The lists of ingredients required for crafting items are, like the game's world, generated procedurally.

This game is set in the universe created for the Front Mission series. The players assume the role of three heroes trapped in a war-torn Russian city. Left Alive presents the events in the third-person perspective. As you complete consecutive missions you must fulfill diverse, non-linear objectives. An essential part of gameplay is combat – on the battlefield you get to use both firearms and self-made traps, as well as other deadly gadgets against your enemies. Alternatively, you are free to put down your guns and use a stealthy approach. Apart from enemy infantry, from time to time you must fight the so-called Wanzers, i.e. powerful mechs, iconic for the Front Mission series – interestingly, there are several occasions in the game, in which you can control one of those and strike fear in your opponents’ hearts. Other strengths of the game are high quality of graphics and atmospheric soundtrack.

Survival elements are equally important, though — in the game, we have to constantly acquire raw materials, food, craft various items, and systematically expand our hideout. The title also features an RPG character development system.

A spin-off to the popular series from Konami, mixing cooperation-oriented play style with stealth and survival elements. Metal Gear Survive creates an alternative version of the events seen in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros, in which the oil rig housing the self-appointed country has been destroyed by XOF, a ravenous military wing of CIA. As a result of unexpected worm-hole rupturing the sky, the remnants of Militaries Sans Frontieres are teleported to an alternative, bleak dimension, inhabited by zombie-like monsters and scourged by numerous dangers. Our squad traverses post-apocalyptic locations, fighting off enemies using a wide arsenal of weapons, which includes firearms as well as melee weapons and bows. However, this time the players are cut-off from the support of the mother base – we need to gather the scarce resources, and use them to craft new weapons and equipment.

Grimm: Dark Legacy is based on the popular NBC television series and it was created by Artplant, the creators of Battlestar Galactica Online. Gameplay mechanics and style of the title are similar to the highly praised survival game Don’t Starve. In Grimm: Dark Legacy, the player assumes the role of a beginner Grimm, hunter of fairy creatures known as Wesen who live among humans. At first the protagonist has only shabby equipment and not much experience, but after some time his abilities improve. The game world is divided into regions which are explored in search of resources and items useful for surviving. The player has to complete various tasks which gradually prepare him for harder challenges, including tracking of various types of Wesen. The combat system resembles hack-and-slash games, except that dying means losing the entire already obtained equipment. One can play Grimm: Dark Legacy alone, but later in the game it is better to join forces with other players.

This is the debut production from Axolot Games. The game itself is a multiplayer-focused sandbox mechanic simulator featuring elements of survival. The player takes control of a mechanic sent to a fully automatized agricultural planet to fix and maintain the machines working there. As it soon turns out, the robots inhabiting the planet went insane and the protagonist's task is to make a good use of his knowledge of machines in order to survive the attacks of mechanical enemies. Scrap Mechanic offers two completely different game modes: survival and creative mode. The latter offers pure entertainment and allows us to build machines without having to bother ourselves with threats. The survival mode resembles games such as Rust or Hurtworld, focusing on exploration, resources gathering, building different machines for various purposes, fighting, and cooperating with other players.

A survival strategy game set in a post-apocalyptic reality. The game was created as a result of cooperation between the independent studio, Unicube, and Team 17, the company famous for the Worms series. The player becomes a leader of a group of survivors hiding in a gloomy underground shelter after a nuclear catastrophe. The game begins when the first bombs are about to fall. We have a limited amount of time to gather supplies for the first weeks of living underground. Later in the game, the player is forced to leave the shelter looking for food, water, medicines, and other supplies. The player often has to fight hungry mutants and other survivors, as well as face other problems, for example those related to the maintenance of the shelter. The player also has to deal with various diseases and the mental condition of the survivors. The game features retro pixel-art graphics, accompanied by a soundtrack that resembles B-Class movie stylistics.

The action of Don’t Starve: Pocket Edition takes place in a randomly generated wilderness, where the protagonist, a scientist named Wilson, was teleported by a deceitful demon. The hero has to use his knowledge and skills to survive in a hostile environment full of wild beasts, and find a way to go back home. The gameplay emphasizes the survival aspects, and the player's main tasks involve building shelter, acquiring food, sustaining fire, as well as producing clothes and useful tools. The game was designed in the characteristic cartoonish style and is full of humor and pop-culture references. The mobile edition is virtually identical to releases on other platforms — the only major difference is the implementation of touch-based controls.

An extended edition of This War of Mine, a unique survival game developed 11bit Studios - the creators of the original - with the 8th generation consoles in mind by. The game inverts the premises of a typical war game, as we do not assume the role of heroic soldiers. Instead, we control a group of civilians surprised by the outbreak of war and trying to survive in a besieged city. The gameplay mechanics remain unchanged, focusing on survival and morally difficult decision-making. As the title suggests, the biggest novelty of the expanded edition is the introduction of playable children, who play an incredibly important role in the on-screen events. Initially, the youngest survivors will, for example, build toys or decorate environments, but with time, thanks to their adult guardians, they shall learn many useful skills that can prove invaluable during subsequent missions.
