An action survival game developed by a Square Enix subsidiary – the development team consisted of such industry veterans as Yoji Shinkawa (the Metal Gear Solid franshise), Toshifumi Nabeshima (the Armored Core series) and Takayuki Yanase (Xenoblade Chronicles X). This game is set in the universe created for the Front Mission series. The players assume the role of three heroes trapped in a war-torn Russian city. Left Alive presents the events in the third-person perspective. As you complete consecutive missions you must fulfill diverse, non-linear objectives. An essential part of gameplay is combat – on the battlefield you get to use both firearms and self-made traps, as well as other deadly gadgets against your enemies. Alternatively, you are free to put down your guns and use a stealthy approach. Apart from enemy infantry, from time to time you must fight the so-called Wanzers, i.e. powerful mechs, iconic for the Front Mission series – interestingly, there are several occasions in the game, in which you can control one of those and strike fear in your opponents’ hearts. Other strengths of the game are high quality of graphics and atmospheric soundtrack.

The gameplay is divided into two phases — during the day, we have to build a stronghold that repels demon attacks at night. The gameplay mostly involves searching for materials, constructing fortifications, and fighting enemies. The game is distributed in free-to-play business model, offering some additional facilities for optional fee.

A spin-off to the series of action games with RPG elements, originally developed by Polish studio Techland. As the owner of the title, Deep Silver chose the Swedish Fatshark studio as the developer for the spin-off. They are known for multiplayer-oriented games such as War of the Roses and War of the Viking. As a result, the players received a third-person perspective action-adventure game, the story of which takes place in between the first and the second part of the series and connects them together. The main hero – Cliff Calo – decides to trace the origins of the zombie virus outbreak and document them. Together with his friends, Cliff sets out on an expedition that soon turns out to be nothing more than a constant fight for survival, as any contact with the living dead ends up in death. You can use a wide arsenal of inventive weapons, but the gameplay emphasizes stealth elements and silent elimination of the enemies. The game features distinctive colorful graphics that utilize cel-shading technology.

A first-person action game that follows the convention of survival horror. Bigfoot is a debut project of an independent Ukrainian developer, CyberLight studio. As the name suggests, the game focuses on the legendary humanoid creature living deep inside the Rocky Mountains. After a group of tourists goes missing in one of the nearby national parks in, as the police say, the result of an accident, the main protagonist, accompanied by his friends, decides to go to the site and investigate the case more closely. The players are offered a vast open world, in which they can explore lakes, swamps, and creepy caves. The gameplay builds on hunting down the titular adversary. The main protagonists establish their base in an RV, and during their hunt, they use a shotgun, a wide range of traps, and some other pieces of gear. The player can confront the Sasquatch (as Native Americans call it) alone, or in a cooperative mode allowing up to three players to join their forces for the hunt.

The cursed creatures want the protagonist to seek out for them an ancient artifact that threatens their existence. The gameplay mechanics combine elements of several genres. While playing, we deal mostly with exploration of the randomly generated world, performing various quests and fighting encountered enemies. Survival elements are equally important, though — in the game, we have to constantly acquire raw materials, food, craft various items, and systematically expand our hideout. The title also features an RPG character development system.

The player assumes command of one of the starships; however, as a result of a mechanical failure, the vessel crashes on an uncharted planet and the protagonist, as the sole survivor, is put against impossible odds to stay alive. Gameplay-wise, Empyrion: Galactic Survival combines elements of adventure, strategy, and space simulation games, putting emphasis on survival aspects and the extensive crafting system. In the game, we arrive at various kinds of planet, where we have to face different dangers in the form of hazardous climatic conditions or hostile alien races.

The story is set in the northern regions of the Quebec province, in the 1970s. The game tells the story of a conflict between the owner of the most profitable copper mine in the region - a rich man called W. Hamilton, and the native local community accusing him of devastating sacred sites in search for more profit. The player is put in the shoes of a detective hired by Hamilton after his chalet in the mountains has been devastated. After his arrival, the protagonist discovers that his employer as well as the entire local community went missing. The gameplay focuses on exploration, finding clues and solving puzzles. However, the game features survival elements as well - the player has to tend to the protagonist's health and face many different dangers, such as low temperatures, predators, etc.

The game was created as a result of cooperation between the independent studio, Unicube, and Team 17, the company famous for the Worms series. The player becomes a leader of a group of survivors hiding in a gloomy underground shelter after a nuclear catastrophe. The game begins when the first bombs are about to fall. We have a limited amount of time to gather supplies for the first weeks of living underground. Later in the game, the player is forced to leave the shelter looking for food, water, medicines, and other supplies. The player often has to fight hungry mutants and other survivors, as well as face other problems, for example those related to the maintenance of the shelter. The player also has to deal with various diseases and the mental condition of the survivors. The game features retro pixel-art graphics, accompanied by a soundtrack that resembles B-Class movie stylistics.

Prey for the Gods takes place on a large island covered with ice. During the game the player assumes the role of a female hero who discovers the secret for the endless winter that rules over the land - turns out that some powerful gods are responsible for it. In order to restore the old order, she must face them. Similarly as in Shadow of the Colossus, the essence of the game consists of duels with giant enemies. In combat the player must be creative and observant – they must find weak points of the colossuses. The game also allows the player to climb on the giant bodies of the enemies. The title features many modern solutions, such as survival elements and a crafting system that allows for crafting of various weapons that are useful in combat.

You assume the role of a survivor traveling from town to town to look for fuel and other important resources. Gameplay is divided into two separate aspects: the first one concerns keeping your train - the only means of transportation you have available - in good shape and taking care of its passengers. The other one involves exploration and fighting. Once in a while, you will stop at different places to thoroughly search them. Outside the train you can come across a variety of useful objects, or meet other survivors, but you will also stumble upon bloodthirsty creatures, which will need an immediate introduction to your broad arsenal of weapons.

You must also gather resources and use them for creating a shelter for the entire group as well as provide enough food and warmth for them to survive. Although the key to surviving lies group work, characters controlled by players differ in personality and skills, and you never know if one of your companions turns out to be a ruthless egoist in a critical situation. The Wild Eight is characterized by its original cartoonish stylistics.

An independent exploration game with survival elements from an in-house team of the Indie Gala company. We play as a heroine who found herself on a Mediterranean island, not knowing how, why, and by whom she was kidnapped. She must uncover the truth behind this event and escape. Die Young employs first-person perspective and focuses on exploration. Aside from that, the protagonist must fight for survival, gathering food, water and useful equipment. Because she can’t use any weapons, our heroine is forced to run from dangers and climb on her surroundings to avoid danger – otherwise, she will meet a horrible end at the hands of opponents, with decapitations with axe being common scenes. What makes Die Young stand out from other games from the genre are its high-quality visuals, with detailed, moved by wind plants.

A spin-off to the popular series from Konami, mixing cooperation-oriented play style with stealth and survival elements. Metal Gear Survive creates an alternative version of the events seen in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros, in which the oil rig housing the self-appointed country has been destroyed by XOF, a ravenous military wing of CIA. As a result of unexpected worm-hole rupturing the sky, the remnants of Militaries Sans Frontieres are teleported to an alternative, bleak dimension, inhabited by zombie-like monsters and scourged by numerous dangers. Our squad traverses post-apocalyptic locations, fighting off enemies using a wide arsenal of weapons, which includes firearms as well as melee weapons and bows. However, this time the players are cut-off from the support of the mother base – we need to gather the scarce resources, and use them to craft new weapons and equipment.

A sequel to the 2013 survival horror game How to Survive. The game, developed by Eko Software, is set in New Orleans, where the virus known from the first installment has turned people into zombies. The survivors have to fight for their lives and form teams in order to search for water, shelter, and useful items. The mechanics remained mostly the same, and the game places emphasis on the crafting system and character skill trees. How to Survive 2 utilizes an isometric view, and a huge part of the gameplay is once again fighting with zombies with the use of various weapons, including handmade ones, crafted from the elements you find in the game. Compared to the original, the game features as expanded multiplayer mode, allowing for camps consisting of up to 16 players, and the co-op mode for up to 4 players.
