A science-fiction action-adventure game featuring survival elements. It is the first major project of KeokeN – an independent Dutch developer. The player is taken to the year 2069, when humanity has to face total depletion of natural resources. Established by governments of world powers, the Worldwide Space Agency decides to resume the exploration of the Moon's surface and the player is cast in the role of an astronaut sent there among others. The protagonist discovers the existence of a huge conspiracy, which sheds new light on the Earth's situation. For the most part, the player explores the virtual environment and solves puzzles. However, the player is not entirely on their own here, for a robot accompanies the protagonist, which is helpful in said puzzle solving. The protagonist has a universal tool at their disposal and the player modifies its purpose gradually alongside progression. Additionally, survival elements were interwoven into the gameplay. For instance, the player encounters locations which lack oxygen and so one is required to make the best possible use of what air they have left.

A city builder strategy game created by Mindillusion. The player is placed in charge of an early-medieval settlement. One's prime goal here is to maintain an appropriate balance between expanding the village and being able to survive in a hostile environment. Thus, apart from utilizing more and more space, constructing new buildings and upgrading the existing ones, the player has to give proper winter clothing to their subordinates and deliver them with balanced meals. The last can be achieved through growing different kinds of plants, breeding animals and storing food; making light of these aspects can result in dangerous epidemics. Apart from that, the player's village can fall victim to attacks of predators and various natural disasters, such as tornadoes or storms, which can cause a fire. All such events affect the spirit of the villagers, which is reflected by a special meter - unhappy workers become less productive. Life is Feudal: Forest Village offers a three-dimensional environment. Interestingly, the player can switch between an isometric view and first-person perspectives (as one of his subjects).

A science-fiction action game with survival elements. The title was developed by Fenix Fire. In Osiris: New Dawn the player assumes the role of an astronaut participating in Osiris 2 mission. He is sent to a remote area of space in order to find out what happened to the Osiris 1 expedition. During the journey the astronaut is forced to land on an unknown planet inhabited by various predatory beasts which evolve during the night, becoming even stronger and more dangerous. The player starts the game with small supplies, so in order to survive, he must gather resources and use them to build structures and construct useful items. The gameplay concentrates on exploration and combat, using various weapons, vehicles, planes and robots. In contrast to other games of the genre, the survival aspects are only an addition. on which the player doesn’t need to focus too much.

Metal Gear Survive creates an alternative version of the events seen in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros, in which the oil rig housing the self-appointed country has been destroyed by XOF, a ravenous military wing of CIA. As a result of unexpected worm-hole rupturing the sky, the remnants of Militaries Sans Frontieres are teleported to an alternative, bleak dimension, inhabited by zombie-like monsters and scourged by numerous dangers. Our squad traverses post-apocalyptic locations, fighting off enemies using a wide arsenal of weapons, which includes firearms as well as melee weapons and bows. However, this time the players are cut-off from the support of the mother base – we need to gather the scarce resources, and use them to craft new weapons and equipment.

A science-fiction sandbox game that takes place in a procedurally generated universe. The story is set in the 24th century, when Earth struggles with overpopulation, climate change, and natural resource depletion. Having found a wreckage of an alien ship, powered by an unknown energy source and containing a map of a distant galaxy, humanity dispatches a powerful space expedition. The player assumes command of one of the starships; however, as a result of a mechanical failure, the vessel crashes on an uncharted planet and the protagonist, as the sole survivor, is put against impossible odds to stay alive. Gameplay-wise, Empyrion: Galactic Survival combines elements of adventure, strategy, and space simulation games, putting emphasis on survival aspects and the extensive crafting system. In the game, we arrive at various kinds of planet, where we have to face different dangers in the form of hazardous climatic conditions or hostile alien races.

This is the debut production from Axolot Games. The game itself is a multiplayer-focused sandbox mechanic simulator featuring elements of survival. The player takes control of a mechanic sent to a fully automatized agricultural planet to fix and maintain the machines working there. As it soon turns out, the robots inhabiting the planet went insane and the protagonist's task is to make a good use of his knowledge of machines in order to survive the attacks of mechanical enemies. Scrap Mechanic offers two completely different game modes: survival and creative mode. The latter offers pure entertainment and allows us to build machines without having to bother ourselves with threats. The survival mode resembles games such as Rust or Hurtworld, focusing on exploration, resources gathering, building different machines for various purposes, fighting, and cooperating with other players.

A sequel to the 2013 survival horror game How to Survive. The game, developed by Eko Software, is set in New Orleans, where the virus known from the first installment has turned people into zombies. The survivors have to fight for their lives and form teams in order to search for water, shelter, and useful items. The mechanics remained mostly the same, and the game places emphasis on the crafting system and character skill trees. How to Survive 2 utilizes an isometric view, and a huge part of the gameplay is once again fighting with zombies with the use of various weapons, including handmade ones, crafted from the elements you find in the game. Compared to the original, the game features as expanded multiplayer mode, allowing for camps consisting of up to 16 players, and the co-op mode for up to 4 players.

Unturned is a sandbox MMO game that combines the mechanics of the popular DayZ mod with the visual style of Minecraft. The game is distributed for free and was created by a sixteen year old teenager – Nelson Sexton. Just like other, similar games, the main part of the gameplay is resource-gathering-oriented exploration. A first-person action game that follows the convention of survival horror. Bigfoot is a debut project of an independent Ukrainian developer, CyberLight studio. As the name suggests, the game focuses on the legendary humanoid creature living deep inside the Rocky Mountains. After a group of tourists goes missing in one of the nearby national parks in, as the police say, the result of an accident, the main protagonist, accompanied by his friends, decides to go to the site and investigate the case more closely. The players are offered a vast open world, in which they can explore lakes, swamps, and creepy caves. The gameplay builds on hunting down the titular adversary. The main protagonists establish their base in an RV, and during their hunt, they use a shotgun, a wide range of traps, and some other pieces of gear. The player can confront the Sasquatch (as Native Americans call it) alone, or in a cooperative mode allowing up to three players to join their forces for the hunt.

A standalone expansion for the 2013’s well-received survival sandbox game, Don’t Starve. The main goal of the add-on is to transfer the core premise of the original title into cooperative multiplayer gameplay. In the game, we still explore the world, gather food, build a shelter, fight various enemies, and take care of the protagonist’s physical and mental health. The primary novelty is the possibility of interacting with other players who can turn out to be either precious friends or deadly foes. Don’t Starve Together allows us to play both with our friends and with complete strangers. Another appeal of the expansion is the fact that it comes with the previously released DLC, Reign of Giants, which expands the original title with new bioms, enemies, and a full year cycle. The production can be obtained free of charge by all owners of the vanilla game.

You assume the role of a survivor traveling from town to town to look for fuel and other important resources. Gameplay is divided into two separate aspects: the first one concerns keeping your train - the only means of transportation you have available - in good shape and taking care of its passengers. The other one involves exploration and fighting. Once in a while, you will stop at different places to thoroughly search them. Outside the train you can come across a variety of useful objects, or meet other survivors, but you will also stumble upon bloodthirsty creatures, which will need an immediate introduction to your broad arsenal of weapons.

Earth has been invaded by nightmarish legendary monsters that ruined the cities and slaughtered almost all humans. The survivors hide in fortified metropolises and small, forgotten villages, hoping to live through at least one day more. You play as a person, who wakes from cryogenic sleep and wants to find out who they are and what happened to humanity. Despite the sandbox character, the production features an expansive plot and encourages you to explore the in-game world in many ways. After creating your character, you start searching for food, valuable items, and shelter. You have to be wary of not only bloodthirsty monsters, but also bad weather conditions, injuries, viruses and bacteria, which can infect and kill you. You can craft items, hack equipment, and track and hunt animals. Your enemies are controlled by an advanced AI, which makes them real killing machines. The combat is turn-based and takes place on a map divided into hexagons. NEO Scavengers also features a permadeath system.

Deliver Us Mars is a sequel to Deliver Us The Moon. Like the original, it is a sci-fi adventure in which we deal mainly with exploration and solving puzzles. Occasional arcade challenges add variety to the gameplay.
