Fortnite is Not Done Yet, New Players Arrive

Epic Games boasts of the number of registered Fortnite users. During the year, the popular battle royale gained 100 million players.

Fortnite is not slowing down.

Recent reports about Fortnite may have given the impression that this extremely popular production is losing its popularity. The fact that Epic Games has given up boycotting Google Play store was a crowning proof of the game's decline for some. However, this does not exactly match the latest Twitter post. The developers revealed that Fortnite has 350 million registered users compared to 250 million last year. In April alone, they spent 3.2 billion hours in Epic Games' production.

Of course, a "registered user" is not synonymous with an "active player," and we can assume that at least some of these 350 million users have finished their Fortnite adventure. However, many developers would probably dream of getting even half that number of new users in a year. Even the otherwise popular rivals of Epic Games are lagging behind. Call of Duty: Warzone reached 60 million after two months, 10 million of which arrived in the second month. And Apex Legends is not complaining either, although in this case we only have the last report from October, which mentions 70 million users. Nevertheless, both productions are still far behind Fortnite, which remains one of the most popular games in history.

It should also be added that a record of the number of people logged in to Fortnite has recently been set. This was due to the performance of rapper Travis Scott, but it also clearly shows the popularity of the game itself. The devs also take care to provide new content in updates. The last one introduced the Royal Party mode, where fighting gives way to casual unarmed fun and building on a new map full of attractions (something like servers for so-called friendlies in Team Fortress 2). As part of this game mode, a special event will start on May 8. including concerts by Dillon Francis, Steve Aoki and deadmau5, as well as gifts for everyone who logs in to the game from midnight May 9 until May 11. You will find more details on the game's official website.
