Beantown Brewery - The brewery is a very large building by the water. There is group of raiders inside. You will find huge amount of beer and Picket Fences magazine here.
Oberland Station - There are a few friendly settlers here. You can help them out as a part of a side quest received from Preston Garvey in Sanctuary (Raider Troubles at Oberland Station). Doing that ill make them join the Minutemen.
Relay Tower 1DL-109 - You can power up this tower, which give you access to several new radio signals.
Vault 81 - Inhabited vault, where you can find a few quests. You can also find here some traders, barber, two magazines/comcics. After you'll complete quests, you'll obtain you own room in vault. Also, in quest Hole in the Wall you can get a new companion - Curie, the robot - and medic bobblehead.
Westing Estate - This flooded area is occupied by several mirelurks. You will find here for example Unstoppables magazine. In three places of this location you will find items needed to complete "Out in Left Field" side quest.
Coast Guard Pier - This area containts building, several trailers and river's bank occupied by super mutants (one suicide mutant). In lower level of building you will find closed cell (expert level). You can open it by the terminal. Inside the cell is Astoundingly Awesome Tales magazine. Near to it is room with huge amount of ammo and other supplies and two safes. You can get there by using terminal (the password you will find in flooded ship nearby).
Hardware Town - The warehouse is occupied by bandits or synths. You will find Picket Fences, Stealth-Boy and other supplies here. You will find here also a paint mixer, which is needed for "Painting the town" side quest.
Mass Pike Tunnel West - Western entrance to location, which was described together with Boston Police Rationing Site.
Chestnuck Hillock - Here you'll find a small house near the lake, guarded by insects. Inside you can obtain a holo tape from the computer, also there's a safe with master lock.
Parkview - This location contains two buildings controlled by raiders. You can meet super mutant here also. It is a few valuable items here, but nothing special.
Diamond City - This is one of the most important locations in entire game. You will meet tens of unique characters here and complete and start more than ten quests. You can meet here all important traders and resupply your character. For 2000 caps you can buy a home here.
Market - This location is part of Diamond City. You can meet traders here.
Fens Street Sewer - Quite big canals occupied by group of ghouls (one glowing). You will find here many valuable items, for example Tumbels Today magazine, flame-thrower and Stealth-Boy.
Hangman's Alley - It is small bandits' encampment, which can be your settlement when you get rid of them.
Back Street Apparel - The building is a hideout for the raiders and eliminating them is a part of a side quest received in Sanctuary (Raider Troubles at Oberland Station). You can enter the building through the main door (bandits, turrets) or through the roof hatch (serious climbing required).
There are additional interactive objects inside the building (including an armor workbench), however some of them require higher hacking and lockpicking skills.
Bridgeway Trust - It is ruined bank building. You will find much cash here. By using the terminal (master level) you can open the vault. There is huge amount of cash, several gold bars (450 caps each) and 16 locked safes (from apprentice to master level). In the safes you will find not only cash, but also ammo and other items.
Boston Library - The building is occupied by group of super mutants and robots. Directly below it is metro station. You can find many valuable items here, for example crafting materials and Intelligence Bobblehead. From the book automat, paying 50 tokens, you can get Massachusetts Surgical Journal.
Police Precinct 8 - The Precinct is very small and occupied by radroaches. You won't find many valuable items here.
Dartmouth - You will find several bandits inside, but nothing valuable.
Layton Towers - This multi-story building is occupied by raiders (two legendary). You will find many valuable items inside, especially ammo and food. There is fusion core on the ground floor.
Mass Pike Tunnel East - Eastern entrance to location, which was described together with Boston Police Rationing Site.
Boston Police Rationing Site - This abandoned warehouse is connected with Mass Pike Tunnel. Entire comples is occupied by insects and ghouls. You will find here for example fusion core and Taboo Tattoos magazine.
Fairline Hill Estates - You won't find anything especially valuable here. This place is guarded by several mutated bears. In the trailer to north-east from this location you will meet Eleanor, which you can trade with.
Relay Tower 0SC-527 - When you power up the tower you will get 3 new radio signals. Watch out for mole rats.
Big John's Salvage - This location is controlled by group of super mutants. You will find here safe (master level), Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor, Fatman, Railway Rifle and many others.
South Boston Military Checkpoint - This former military base is controlled by gunners. You will find here for example Fat Man, mininuke, Guns & Bullets magazine and safe (master level).
Yangtze - Submarine, connected with quest Here There Be Monsters.
D.B. Technical High School - Building is full of raiders, turrents and traps. You'll find here a pretty much of everything: food, ammo, meds and crafting materials. The most interesting parts is in underground pool: there are Fat Man, enemy with funny bear hat and other with Deathclaw gauntlets. Next door are leading to Medical Metro Center.
Wilson Atomatoys Corporate HQ - Building is full of Super Mutants. Beside three fusion cores and interesting history, which can be collected by reading information from terminals, notes, and listen to holotapes, there's nothing worth of bothering.
Hesters Consumer Robotics - Small location with some crafting materials and workbenches, but guarded by some strong robots.
Medical Metro Center - It's a small metro station connected to D.B Technical High School Location. There are many raiders, and from items: two safes, fusion core at the end (where it's connected to school) and two Nuka Cola Quantum bottles.
Mass Bay Medical Center - It's not a very huge location. It is inhabitated by Gunners and few robots. You can find here a flamer with some ammo and a Gunner with power armor (use an elevator to get him).
Trinity Tower - Location connected to quest Curtain Call. You must go to the top of the tower and defeat unique supermutant, and next - free two imprisoned guys. Supermutand Strong from cell will be your companion from now. In their cell you'll find a Melee Bobblehead.
Trinity Church - In this point there's a Trinity Church, where Super Mutants lives. Near the rostrum you'll find good minigun and magazine Astoundingly Awesome Tales. In the trunk there's also Flux sensor, needed to complete Quatermastery quest.
Hubris Comics - In this location you are able to obtain two costumes with dedicated weapons: Grognak The Barbarian and Silver Shroud (also need to complete the quest with the same name). Also, fusion core, flux sensor (Quatermastery quest) and two magazines (Unstopables and Astoundingly Awesome Tales) can be found.
Combat Zone - Location is connected with mini-quest to get rid all of the riders inside. After that you'll get some caps and be able to get a new companion Cait. In location you'll find a pretty big ammount of pre-war money and Picket Fences magazine.
Boylston Club - Small place full of poisoned wine, from which club members died in here. There's one safe inside, which can be oppened using terminal.
Swan's Pound - In location there's a special Super Mutant. From his dead body you can obtain unique weapon - Furious Power Fist. Going north will lead you to the small pavilion where you can obtain not badly modified 10mm Pistol and Grognak the Barbarian magazine. It's also the place, where Railroad Trial starts.
Skybridge - It's a part of old highway. Now is used as a passage between few higher buildings.
Park Street Station - You'll go to this location in main quest Unlucky Valentine. Under the station there's Vault 114, where Nick Valentine is being kept. In this vault you can obtain Speech Bobblehead and Astonduingly Awesome Tales magazine.
HalluciGen - In this laboratory because of poisonous gas Gunners are fighting each other. Your main task is to get to the lowest level, where are unique Hallucigen Containers, which can be used to prepare a special grenades.
Massachusetts State Home - In this location you can face Mirelurk Queen, find some ammo and special Raiders Power Armor. Beside this location is full of Mirelurks in the first part and not much less Raiders in the second.
Vaul-Tec Regional HQ - You can be disapointed, but you won't find here any interesting items. Just one advanced lock safe and four Vault-Tec launchboxes.
Old Granary burying ground - It's an old graveyard. You'll find here just one dead military guy with basic equipment.
Postal Square - Joe's Spuckies bar is the only accessable building in this area. Inside you'll face a few Gunners and Mr Gutsy. From loot, you'll get there only a bit of ammo, chems and Nuka Cola bootles.
Harbormaster Hotel - Location is rather filler on the map. There's an upper floor and the roof, where you can obtain food, alcohol and some meds (inter alia - X-Cell).
The Shamrock Taphouse - In basement you'll find a robot called Buddy who can make some bear periodically. You can keep them in your settlement or hand it over to Hotel Rexford in Goodneighbour as a part of the quest Trouble Brewin'. Also you'll find here a recipe for this robot, Total Hack magazine, two safes, and a little ammo. There's a lot of alcohol and some meds.
On pier in south east you'll meet Donny Kowalski (Here There Be Monsters quest).
Custom Tower - Main building is not interesting, but you may get inside through brick look doors. More interesting is building next to it on the west side - 35 Court. You'll find there two safes and X-01 complete power armor on the top of the building.
Goodneighbor - It's a small, "noir type" town. You'll find here two traders, some quests and two potential companions. You'll get to this location while doing quests of main story.
Charles View Amphitheater - This location is a home for cultists known as A Pillar of Community. They want to rob you from everything you have, so be careful. In location you can only find some gold lighters and watches, also mini-nuke under the bed on stage. Location is also connected with quest Emogene Takes a Lover.
Mass Fusion Building - Mass Fusion it's a high building with many gunners inside. You are not able to get on top until Mass Fusion quest. But you're able to get all important lot whenever you want, and these are: fusion core, Strenght Bobblehead on statue, and Tesla Science magazine. On top available level you'll face gunner with power armor T-45.
Old Corner - One-room building, available loot are: Nuca Cola Quantum, Caps Stash and few unimportant notes.
Boston Bugle Building - It's only a miscellaneous building. There's a safe in the floor in upper level, behind the door to outside.
Faneuil Hall - Location is full of Super Mutants. Inside you can get a lot of Pre-war money and some ammo in containers. At the entrance you'll find on (and under) the table a note, which starts Treasure of Jamaican Plain quest. Also you'll visit this location in Valentine Detective Cases quests.
Haymarket Mall - It's another Raiders base. Watch out for one with missle launcher once you get inside. On the upper floor, where you will get by using elevator, Raiders fight Protectrons. You'll be able to grab some loot from two safes and to get on the roof, where Garden Terraces are. Also, there lives a Deathclaw, so watch out.
Cabot' House - Cabot House is a location connected with three quest, starting with Special Delivery. After completing all the quests you'll get access to the top floor of building. You'll be able to get inside after starting quest in Bunker Hill (talk to Edward Deegan) or by using intercom and using a few times option "Let me inside". Inside you'll find a Zeta gun, Fat man and mini-nuke, and on top floor - Massachusetts Surgical Journal.
Picman Gallery - This gallery is location only connected with one quest of finding Pickman in sewers under the building. Also in that room you'll be able to obtain Lockpicking Bobblehead and in the same room Astoundingly Awesome Tales magazine, also missle launcher in top of the building. Building is full of Raiders also turrents and mines in the sewers.
Old North Church - It's a pass to hidden Railroad fraction Headquaters. In church there's nothing beside ghouls. In basements use RAILROAD password to get inside and optionally join this fraction - only after that you'll get inside the HQ.

Cabot House - Zeta Gun, you find it on the table in the lab.

Potential companions

Piper - you find her in Diamond City, she joins you during the main storyline.

Nick Valentine - also from Diamond City. He can join you after quest Unlucky Valentine.

Curie - a robot that you find in Vault 81. However, you first need to complete a number of quests in this location, to be able to include her in your party.

John Hancock - a ghoul, the Mayor of Goodneighbor. He becomes available as a companion, after you complete quest The Big Dig and you decide to stand against the quest-giver Bobby.

Deacon - an agent for Railroad. He becomes available as a companion, after you complete preliminary quests for the Railroad, if you want to join them.

Cait - you can find her in Combat Zone. After you clear the location of gunners, you can include her in the party.

Robert MacCready - mercenary, you can find him in Third Rail Inn in Goodneighbor.

Strong - a super mutant, who joins you after you free him and Rex Goodman from Trinity Tower in Curtain Call
