An official expansion for the third installment of the cult turn-based strategy game series by Sid Meier and his newly established studio, Firaxis Games. Sid Meier's Civilization III: Play the World is based on the gameplay mechanics of the vanilla game. Therefore, we still lead a chosen civilization to domination over others by conquest, cultural development, or strong economy. The expansion introduces a multiplayer mode via a LAN or the Internet with several modes: Elimination, Domination, Regicide, and King of the Mountain. We can play with friends using three kinds of gameplay system, namely by giving orders in turns, simultaneously, or in the turnless mode. Moreover, Sid Meier's Civilization III: Play the World enriches the original game with eight new civilizations, eight new rulers with different traits and skills (Genghis Khan, Hannibal, Queen Isabella, Brennus, among others), an advanced editor that lets players create their own scenarios, and a number of new maps and locations.

A continuation of the third-person perspective hack and slash released by Capcom in 2001, which told a story of Dante – a half-demon and destroyer of evil. In this part, his adventures combine with the story of a warrior called Lucia – they both intend to stop a businessman named Arius from resurrecting a demon and acquiring superhuman powers that would make him rule the world. Mechanics remain almost unchanged, but there is a change of scenery – instead of the dark, gothic style, Devil May Cry 2 features contemporary cities with skyscrapers and mazes of streets. Gameplay is divided into two independent campaigns in which you can play with both heroes. Each of them offers a slightly different style – in contrast to the strong, but slow Dante, Lucia is fast and nimble. Both characters have the ability to transform into a demon, which is the special power known from the first installment.

Another expansion for EverQuest, released four years after the launch of the vanilla game. It was developed by Daybreak Game Company which oversees the franchise’s development. The add-on was created with both beginners and veterans in mind — for the latter, the level cap was increased to 75. This time around, the story focuses on a new race of the Drakkin which are a combination of humans and dragons. They try to reach the Crescent Reach, a legendary city of their reptilian ancestors, forgetting their human roots. The expansion lets us create a new character that represents the newly implemented race — there is a wide variety of types and colors of scales and horns. The action of EverQuest: The Serpent’s Spine takes place in the aforementioned Crescent Reach, which is a self-sufficient metropolis where we can sell useless junk and purchase powerful equipment, undertake various story quests and side missions, and gain new battle skills. The expansion is powered by the technology of the original EverQuest, but the developers implemented new visual effects such as changing weather conditions.
