Strategy, Gangster, Singleplayer, Turn-based.
A mobile strategy game based on the free-to-play business model, developed by the creators of the Just Cause series. Rumble City takes place in the United States of 60s and tells the story of a motorcycle gang war over the control of the Los Poderosos city. The player acts as the leader of one of those groups, and their task is to rebuild the gang and eliminate the competition. However, game takes this well-known Hollywood trope with a grain of salt. The first step is to recruit some old friends and new members that will follow the player’s orders. Each thug has his or her own statistics and skills, which can be developed to increase his or her effectiveness in combat. This is the main part of gameplay, along with the focus on using members’ skills correctly. This allows for conquering of new territories in the town, which we observe from isometric view, and the game ends when we have complete control.

Oldschool platformer with elements of a slasher game inspired by such classic titles as Shadow of the Beast or the early installments in the Castlevania series. Slain! is a debut production of independent studio Wolf Brew Games. You play as a sole hero named Bathoryn, who tries to liberate the game’s fantasy world from the tyranny of seven evil lords residing in seven high towers. Each level in Slain! is split into two different sections. Initially, your task is to fight your way to a tower using sword and magic. Next, you have to climb the tower, which means not only fighting, but also multiple platforming sequences and occasional logic puzzles. The game is characterized by a high level of difficulty and oldschool, pixel-art graphics drawing heavily from gothic themes. Gameplay is accompanied by a heavy metal soundtrack created by a former member of a popular band Celtic Frost.

This way you defeat hordes of foes and earn heaps of money, which you later spend on hiring more helpers, developing them, or obtaining special abilities. You have a certain number of enemies to defeat on each level, along with a stronger boss, which needs to be defeated in 30 seconds; if you fail, the boss' health renews and you have to start over.

The action of Starpoint Gemini Warlords takes place in the same universe as the former titles of the series, and concentrates on rivalry between the ruling Empire and the resistance calling themselves the Gemini League. Gameplay is very similar to that in the title’s former parts. The game features a universe almost eight times bigger, where the players can create and develop their space bases. The action takes place in a world composed entirely of the aforementioned elements. In the game, we observe various graphs resembling both real and fantasy landscapes. The protagonist will have to overcome things like pie charts, bars, and statistical curves. Most of obstacles we encounter are logic puzzles or diversified arcade challenges. The action of Wild Wastes takes place in modern times, in a small American town called Earlsboro, infested with bandits, aliens, and other bloodthirsty monsters known as negatives. Our task is to stay alive for a week. The action is seen from a top-down camera view, while the combat system, heavily inspired by old-school shooters, is rather arcade in nature. Aside from combat, we spend a huge chunk of our time on the search for food and shelter, or gathering valuable items and resources that can be used to craft the necessary equipment. The game is characteristic for its locations and placement of enemies or items, which are randomly generated at the beginning of every playthrough. The third installment in the strategy game series set in antiquity, started in 2010 by Longbow Digital Arts. While playing, we can either experience the entire path of Rome to hegemony in the ancient world as it happened or try to change history by leading one of the remaining nations. The gameplay mechanics remain faithful to the series’ standards, combining elements of the so-called grand strategy game genre with real-time tactical combat and active pause. At the same time, the developers introduced a myriad of novelties such as enhanced city development, new army abilities, and the possibility of trading resources and slaves. The gameplay takes place on a significantly more detailed map, while the players are given over 25 factions that belong to four main cultures.

A 2D arcade platformer game with hack’n’slash elements, developed by the indie studio Zoink Games, best known for its highly-absurd production Stick it to the Man!. The action of Zombie Vikings begins in the moment when the mischievous god Loki decides to steal the last, magical eye of Odin, who in turn resurrects four disgusting zombie-Vikings and tasks them with reclaiming the stolen item. In the game we can play the role of one of the four playable characters, each of which has different skills at their disposal; the skills can also be upgraded by means of special runes. The heroes can choose from a sizeable arsenal of around 40 weapon types, which are differentiated not only by their unique names but also their usage (e.g. the ability to use vomiting or chopped off heads of enemies). Zombie Vikings is filled with irrational, absurd comedy and is most enjoyable when played in local co-op mode, in which the players can combine their characters into one, giant zombie-Viking.

An online first person-shooter emphasizing intense action, teamwork, as well as tactical aspects. Burstfire was developed by Free Reign Entertainment - a studio comprising of the creators of Hawken. Burstfire focuses entirely on multiplayer - two teams comprised of a few players each, face one another by trying to achieve contradictory goals - while team one has to defend a spot, the other group is trying to conquer it. Because the creators placed a large emphasis on realism and tactical aspects of each encounter, the pace of action here is not as fast as it usually is in similar online games. Because the players do not respawn within a single match, each action has to be preceded by planning, caution, as well as accompanied by effective communication in one's team. The participants make use of a wide set of modern-day weapons, but they can also erect various fortifications, set traps or do reconnaissance using drones. It is possible to destroy elements of the environment here as well, in order to create a passage into the enemy positions for instance. Instead of assigning particular roles to the players, Burstfire offers complete freedom when it comes to customizing the appearances and equipment of soldiers.

The plot revolves around three characters – a factory worker named Elise, Franz – a scholar, and Frederic, a member of one of the noble families. An MMO browser strategy game developed by Allodium. The players are taken to an alternative version of Europe consumed by a total war. The post-war continent is led by Global Security Agency, a military-industrial conglomerate that attempts to fight the ensuing chaos through repressions and weapons of mass destruction. The players are left with a faithfully-recreated map of Europe consisting of 15000 cities, assuming control of the individual settlements in order to rebuild them and take part in the conflict by creating alliances and engaging in military operations. The game mixes city-building elements with real-time strategy elements – we are tasked with resource gathering, recruiting military forces, all the while engaging in combat for influence and territory.
