An independent economy simulation strategy game in which we develop and manage a railway network. The title was created by a three-person Lithuanian-Russian studio called Flazm headed by Aleksey Davidov, the author of 2008’s browser production entitled Railway Valley. Train Valley lets us develop our railway business in one of four different locations, each of them set in a different era (from 1830 to near future). The gameplay involves building a well-functioning railway network with railroad tracks, tunnels, bridges, and the like. Our task is difficult because of the limited budget which forces us to carefully think over our decisions. While playing, we also have to react to accidents that happen, monitor current situation, build track switches, sidings, branches, and so on. In total, there are over 15 models of locomotives and 18 types of cars of different purposes at players’ disposal. The game features a friendly and slightly cartoonish visual style.

A Japanese fantasy RPG based on the popular – especially in Japan – SaGa series, previously known as Final Fantasy Legend. The game has been developed by FuRyu supported by former Square Enix employees, who have been working on the original series. In the game, the player assumes the role of one of the seven heroes, who want to uncover the mysteries of the island of Avalon. The player is aided in this task by two companions selected from a group of NPCs. The Legend of Legacy delivers a nonlinear plot, which almost entirely depends on the player’s actions and decisions. The gameplay revolves around the exploration of the island, completing quests, i.a. in the city of Initium (which serves also as the main base and place of trade), and waging turn-based battles. In combat, the player can summon ghosts to the battlefield, from which he gains additional abilities. All the characters’ skills can be improved the same way as in the SaGa series - by using the already unlocked abilities. The player is bound to appreciate the game’s visuals, which combine 3D models with hand-drawn world textures.

The story features the adventures of three astronauts and their robot companion, whose ship crashes on the alien planet Gravoria, and their only chance to escape is reaching the top of a massive tower. We observe the game’s world from the point far above characters’ heads, and the gameplay consist mainly of eliminating hordes of enemies coming in waves, each more challenging than previous ones. The characteristic feature of The Deadly Tower of Monsters are its designs, employing the color palette from classic science-fiction movie. Moreover, the characters look like actors dressed up in costumes, and in the scenes with space ships the strings attached to their models are clearly visible. All of this is complemented by the director’s commentary, who recollects the making of this movie-in-game.

To achieve this, though, it is necessary to clear the way to the goal with the use of the available weapons. At the same time, we have to prevent the enemy from reaching our own goal. There are 20 kinds of fast and agile mechs at players’ disposal. Each of these is suited for slightly different sort of play. The old man is taken prisoner by the hostile robots and the player's goal is to save him, getting past various obstacles that happen to get in the protagonist's way. Generally, Wayward Sky is a point-and-click adventure game which focuses primarily on solving puzzles. Contrary to the classics of the genre however, puzzles here not always require only thinking - arcade elements appear for instance when the player has to control an awkwardly-moving robot in order to press certain buttons which cannot be reached by the protagonist. Wayward Sky stands out with its fairy-tale-like visuals contributing to the games atmosphere.

Crusader Kings: Chronicles is a spin-off of a famous PC series of strategic games by Paradox, rendered as a mobile gamebook with RPG elements. The plot of Crusader Kings: Chronicles, created by an author of historical novels and fantasy, M. Harold Page, takes us into medieval times, right into the middle of the conflict between Scots and English. The protagonist is a young noble by the name of Guy de Rose, who inherits a great castle after his deceased father, and has to establish a firm grip over his domain, earn the respect of local population, and thwart the plans of an enemy, who wants to take over his inheritance. The mechanics do not venture far off the standards of the genre, and the gameplay boils down to following the plot (which is non-linear to a considerable degree) and influencing the events by choosing one of the available courses of action. A lot of emphasis has been placed on creating and maintaining relations with other characters. The game is seasoned by some RPG elements that allow the development the hero's statistics.

You play as one of the available characters and participate in dynamic skirmishes between teams of players, taking place on varied maps full of tasks to complete. There are many playable characters to choose from, each having their own unique combat techniques, equipment, and level-up bonuses. Pirates: Treasure Hunters features such innovative elements as e.g. allowing you to directly control your character (with a gamepad or the WSAD keys). Fighting, 2D, RPG Elements, Singleplayer.
A mobile entry in two-dimensional fighting game series from Lab Zero, developed by the team at Hidden Variable. Skullgirls Mobile is quite different from its full-scale predecessor. Instead of hardcore fighting title, the gameplay is somewhat casual, with some RPG features. We create a group of three warriors, between each we can freely switch during battles. We can choose from both old faces (e.g. Filia or Big Band) and completely new fighters. Their skills can be developed, enabling them to become stronger and learn new attacks as we progress through the game. All of this is presented in the well-known cartoonish visual style.

An first-person shooter game by American Studio Impulse Gear. The game requires the PlayStation VR headgear and utilizes the PlayStation Move motion controllers, as well as a simplified rifle called PlayStation VR Aim Controller. The game is set in the far future, in which interplanetary flights are a part of daily life. The ship carrying the protagonist crashes on an alien world. It quickly turns out that the planet is inhabited by hostile creatures resembling giant insects. The protagonist has to fight for survival. Farpoint focuses on exploring your surroundings and fighting the encountered enemies. You use the rifle not only to eliminate your foes, but also to scan the nearby areas. Compared to other FPS games, the gameplay is quite slow. The game features high-quality 3D visuals.

Developed by Pixel Lantern, an independent studio from Germany, a 2D platformer with roguelike elements. The player takes control of the titular bard whose gold is stolen by a sly goblin. In order to get the gold back, the bard sets off on a dangerous journey. Bard’s Gold features a side-view – there are over 100 levels filled to capacity with various dangerous traps and enemies. As the hero dies from a single hit and particular parts of levels are generated procedurally, the title poses a real challenge. After each death, the hero keeps his equipment and abilities, which he gained by finding special skill books. The title’s retro atmosphere is seasoned with characteristic pixel art visuals.

Adventure, 2D, Time Travel, Science Fiction, Singleplayer, Thriller, Visual Novel.
A visual novel adventure game developed by Nitroplus and 5pb. Studios. The game is a direct continuation of the original Steins;Gate from 2009. The plot picks off using one of the alternative endings of the predecessor. Okabe Rintaro, a student heartbroken after the tragic death of his friend Kurisu Makise, makes an appointment to a psychiatric health facility. Nevertheless, his life changes dramatically when he meets former professor of Kurisu and his research team, conducting research on a unique technology. By taking part in the experiment, our protagonist may be able to make contact with an AI that is a simulation of his dead friend. When it comes to gameplay, Steins;Gate 0 is a typical visual novel. The gameplay focuses on following the plot and dialogues, with some occasional decision making which influences the course of the story and leads to one of its alternative endings.

A continuation of a platformer by Freakzone Games studio, based on the Internet game review series starring James Rolfe. Plot in Angry Video Game Nerd II: ASSimilation does not make much sense and serves only as a pretext for action. When the Earth is struck by a beam from space, it turns the world into a video game and the hero from the original title undertakes a mission of saving his friends and humanity. Visually and mechanically the game is very similar to the classic platformer hits from the NES console. Therefore, the player jumps, avoids obstacles, and fights enemies he comes across, including powerful bosses. During gameplay you collect different parts of the armor, which makes playing a bit more easy, and unlock the hero’s new abilities, like short-distance gliding. The game features a high difficulty level, a large dose of black humor, and numerous references to the classic titles.
