Another big, story-driven expansion to Star Wars: The Old Republic, a popular MMORPG created by Bioware in 2011. This time, the story campaign and single player content is even more important than before. The DLC is focused on new adventures of an experienced war veteran, who represents one of the sides in the eternal conflict, as he or she faces yet another enemy, who shattered the established order of things. Other than the story, the expansion introduces new locations, missions, and items. Moreover, the character experience level cap was raised to 65, and the existing class campaigns were improved, so to increase the pace the of gameplay and make gathering experience and gear faster.

A unique combination of a real-time strategy and a match-3 logic puzzle game by the indie team Anomaly Studio. The game features segments, during which you participate in sieges — while in some missions you are the invader, in other you have to defend your fortress. During the game, most of the screen consists of a map divided into 42 fields, and your task is to manipulate the randomly-generated symbols to combine at least three of the same kind. This is how you summon units, which automatically charge into battle, and the more elements are there in a combination, the more powerful is the summoned character. Moreover, from time to time you can activate a huge cannon, which scatters the enemy units, while simple RPG elements allow you to develop your units. The Long Siege utilizes the premium financial model and features no microtransactions.

A mobile game and a part of one of the most popular franchises in history. The production is a blend of a platformer and a typical runner game, set in the universe of Sonic the Hedgehog. You can not only play as the main character, but also as his friends, including Tails the Fox and Knuckles. The levels, called “episodes” in-game, are endless, although you can progress to the next one after earning a certain amount of points. Every character has a special ability, which helps them overcome obstacles (e.g. Sonic can triple-jump and Knuckles is super-strong, which makes him hit harder). The game features nicely designed maps full of platforms, enemies, and obstacles, making it more difficult to break records. You can find many collectibles and fight various bosses. The characters can be upgraded (they have three statistics: speed, strength, and acrobatics) and unlocked. The game's beautiful 2.5D was inspired by classic 8-bit and 16-bit console productions. The game was withdrawn from distribution due to a too aggressive business model.

Another installment of a simulator series allowing you to play as a driver of public transport bus, developed by the British company Astragon. In contrast to previous entries in the series, the game was developed by the Austrian studio StillAlive, previously known for the action adventure game, Son of Nor. The new developer made sure that player's role is not limited only to driving, but reflects all aspects of a bus driver's work as closely as possible. Therefore, during the game we are also responsible for, among others, interactions with passengers, ticket sales, and dealing with various random situations that can happen in urban transport. Bus Simulator 16 introduces a reputation system in which our popularity changes depending on how well we fulfill our responsibilities. The passengers' trust, which translates directly into revenue and business development, depends on our actions.

A third stand-alone expansion for Company of Heroes 2. It was developed by the Relic Entertainment studio, creators of the base game and the two previous expansions. As in the case of the Western Front Armies add-on, developers focused mainly on the multiplayer mode and added British Armed Forces to network game. Along with it developers provided the players with 15 new units, 6 commanders with various abilities, and 8 new maps depicting historical places of World War II. It is worth noting that the authors also included the cultural differences that were present in the British Army, and that we can develop technology tree in two ways, with emphasis on either its offensive or defensive aspects. In contrast to previous expansions, The British Forces features also a number of cosmetic improvements in graphics and animations as well as improved balance between various factions.

A 2D tactical strategy game developed by The Behemoth - an independent American studio. The player is taken to an unusual universe which combines the features of classic fantasy with science-fiction; moreover, the entire adventure is filled with absurd humor. A story campaign constitutes the core of this experience - it can be completed either solo or in the co-op mode for two players. The gameplay as such has two branches here - on one hand, the player traverses the game world in real time, visiting different places (such as towns), taking quests from NPCs and gathering gold, as well as different items; on the other hand, the player fights turn-based battles on maps covered with hexes. Pit People distinguishes itself among other representatives of the genre by the presence of the narrator - this figure not only comments on the events on the screen, but also influences them in order to make the job of the player-controlled characters harder. Additionally, the game offers a competition-based mode for 4 players (two teams fight one another).

A mobile strategy game based on the free-to-play business model, developed by the creators of the Just Cause series. Rumble City takes place in the United States of 60s and tells the story of a motorcycle gang war over the control of the Los Poderosos city. The player acts as the leader of one of those groups, and their task is to rebuild the gang and eliminate the competition. However, game takes this well-known Hollywood trope with a grain of salt. The first step is to recruit some old friends and new members that will follow the player’s orders. Each thug has his or her own statistics and skills, which can be developed to increase his or her effectiveness in combat. This is the main part of gameplay, along with the focus on using members’ skills correctly. This allows for conquering of new territories in the town, which we observe from isometric view, and the game ends when we have complete control.

A spin-off installment of the unique top-down game The Escapist, developed by the publishers of the original, Team 17. Therefore, in the game, we assume the role of a policeman named Rick Grimes, and our task is not to escape from jail but to get out of a number of locations overrun by bloodthirsty zombies. The fun involves mostly exploration and collecting seemingly useless objects to craft a myriad of useful tools that will help is in our escape. Compared to the original The Escapists, the game features a modified combat system, while the protagonist doesn’t have to operate on his own, since he is followed by a group of other survivors. Because of this, we need to ensure not only the hero’s safety but also that of his companions.

During the game you visit a brand new location of Seagate Amusement Park, built on an oil platform. This is where you fight Joker's mooks and face new main quests and side quests. Since Batgirl is not as strong as Batman, but possesses incredible hacking skills, the gameplay is slightly different from that in the core game. You can, however, switch between characters to use their unique abilities when necessary.

An arcade dirt bike racing game which is an improved edition of the original, 2014 release. The game was created specifically for the eighth-gen consoles. The player takes on the role of a professional rider that participates in races taking place on special tracks filled with obstacles and jumps. 80 licensed motocross companies are featured in the game, as well as real-life contestants and authentic tracks. Several series of competitions are waiting for the player in the career mode and the so-called freeride. Both the Waypoint and Rhythm Racing modes are novelties here. In the former, the riders have to reach subsequent checkpoints in an open environment as fast as they can; in the latter, the contestants race on a straight track filled with obstacles. In terms of the multiplayer, up to 12 players can meet in an on-line session; on the other hand, the game also features a split-screen mode. MX vs. ATV Supercross Encore brings improved visuals, including both more detailed models and textures. Also, new sound effects were added.

The story of Dungelot: Shattered Lands is set in a typical fantasy world, filled with magic, monsters, and various races. We play as a hero belonging to one of several classes with different skills and explore randomly generated dungeons. This is done by progressively revealing more fields hiding precious parts of equipment and treasures, as well as monsters, obstacles, and dangerous traps. In case of a confrontation, further exploration is locked until we beat the enemy, using various attacks and spells at our disposal. As we progress through the game, we will keep finding keys that unlock subsequent chambers. We also earn experience points, used to develop our character and allowing him to learn new skills.

A turn-based strategy game for mobile devices, set in the American Old West. It was developed by the Mika Mobile studio and takes the player to a land combining the Wild West with occultist ideas. Such a combination gave plenty of room to the creators, when it came to writing the scenarios and inventing the virtual weapons. The game focuses mainly on turn-based battles during which, the player can command over twenty different types of units. Contrary to the majority of similar games however, units do not last longer than through one battle here - the game places a special emphasis on winning at all costs. Later on, the player replenishes the casualties. Only the so-called Living Legends are an exception here, for the player can gradually upgrade their statistics alongside progression. Making good use of their skills, the player is capable of tipping the balance in favour of their victory more than once.

The authors mixed real events with folk legends, creating an engaging story. When it comes to mechanics, Vampire Legends is a traditional adventure game intertwined by hidden object sections. During the game, we explore static locations, converse with encountered characters, gather items, and solve logic puzzles. Additionally, we need to make decisions that influence the plot, influencing the final outcome of the story.

A Japanese roguelike role-playing game and a part of the Mystery Dungeon series. Shiren The Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate was originally released in 2010 for Nintendo DS only in Japan, while its enhanced edition, Shiren the Wanderer 5 Plus was released in 2015. You play as a quiet wandering warrior named Shiren, accompanied by a talkative ferret called Koppa. The protagonist climb the enormous Tower of Fortune, at the top of which lives a deity capable of changing the fate of every mortal. The locations are randomly generated, and the turn-based gameplay focuses on combat and upgrading Shiren's statistics. Death in the game is final; when you die, your experience is brought down to zero, your equipment is lost, and new maps with new enemies are generated. Additionally, the game features occasional puzzles to solve and a day-and-night cycle, which makes your sight range smaller as darkness falls.

Designed to dispose of not only garbage but also mutants, the eponymous robot, called MOP, is here to save the day. The mechanics of MOP: Operation Cleanup bear a resemblance to classic platform games. During the game you move toward the right side of the screen, jump on platforms, avoid traps, and find various collectibles. There is also a wide range of enemies that you can evade or eliminate. The game is divided into five diversified levels depicting different parts of the world, each featuring side objectives to complete.

Gameplay focuses on spectacular duels of the most famous warriors from both of the aforementioned games. Unlike other typical board games Krosmaster Arena lets you command a party of champions, whom you recruit gradually as you play. Each one of them has their own characteristic skills, hence the key to success lies not only in proper tactics, but also smart use of the characters, so that they complement one another on the battlefield. Gameplay is enriched by a wide selection of special cards that represent spells and items – multiplying the available tactical options even further.

In the online multiplayer mode, you need to eliminate other players in one of the four sub-modes: Assassination, Head Hunter, Random Assassination, and Escape. During your turn, you can commit five various actions; you have two minutes for that, which calls for quick and creative thinking. To succeed, you need luck and a sense of strategy, which can help you outsmart your opponents. The Living Dungeon features very high-quality visuals — the game faithfully recreates figurines, moving around a fully-3D map. Curiously, there are two graphic styles to choose from: a dark fantasy one and a less grim one, resembling a tavern game.

A mobile version of a cult-classic Polish real-time strategy released in 1996. The remake is currently in development by Home Net Games, a small team led by Miroslaw Dymek, one of the co-creators of the original game. We are introduced to Mirko, a head of a small village which has been burned to the ground by a rivaling tribe. When it comes to mechanics, we are given a classic real-time strategy inspired by the cult-classic Warcraft. As a result, the player focuses on expanding his base and combat. Both goals require extended effort, including resource gathering, constructing buildings, or recruiting military forces and leading them in battle. Interestingly enough, the game’s economy is based on milk, which can be gathered from grazing cows. Polanie Remake attempts to reintroduce the classic traits and the atmosphere of its predecessor, all the while offering detailed and high-definition visuals and a remade soundtrack.

Another application from Nintendo 3DS’ Art Academy, a series of educational games that teach us how to draw. Unlike its Pokémon-centered predecessor, this time we are given a completely new challenge, trying to create images of over 80 characters known from animated duo of Disney and Pixar. Gameplay of Disney Art Academy remains the same as in the previous title, following a series of lessons that progressively introduce us to more and more complicated drawing techniques. It is complemented by Free Paint Mode, which allow us to create whatever images we want, as well as previously featured social services that we can use to publish our works through Miiverse and social networks.

A game recreating the various situations encountered by coast guard officers, developed by Reality Twist - the team responsible for Ship Simulator: Maritime Search and Rescue. The main hero of Coast Guard, Finn Asdair, and his teammates – an engineer, Fatima Morgane, main investigator, Colman Bauers, and a forensic specialist, Larry La Bouche have to face a number of dangerous tasks, such as saving people from burning vessels, fishing out survivors, or investigating shipwrecks. Most of the time, we control a coast guard unit, seen from a third-person perspective. Our ship is sometimes supported by a smaller boat, of which we assume control during certain emergencies. Additionally, Coast Guard introduces an ability to disembark the boat in order to search an island, or a room on an oil rig. In such cases, the game switches to a FPP mode, and we have to use available items to solve encountered problems, similarly to adventure games. Coast Guard employs three-dimensional visuals, but their quality is not a highlight of the game.

Set in Norse mythology, an independent action game with an arcade combat system. Jotun is a Kickstarter project. The title was initially released on PC, then published on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U as an expanded edition called Jotun: Valhalla Edition featuring an additional game mode. Players are told the story of a Viking warrior named Thora who died an inglorious death. Before she passes through the gates of Valhalla, she needs to prove her worth to the Gods. Gameplay in Jotun utilizes an isometric view. Players assume the role of Thora who travels through the Nordic purgatory, divided into nine levels in which she has to release and defeat powerful elemental giants known as the jotun. During gameplay, players also come across various secrets and learn about the heroine’s life and the cause of her death. Jotun features hand-drawn visuals, an excellent soundtrack, and dialogues recorded in Icelandic, which emphasizes the game’s Nordic atmosphere.

Once again, creators take us to London during the end of 20th century. We play as a young woman, abandoned by her parents as an infant, who suddenly receives a mysterious invitation, promising to let her meet her mother. The girl quickly travels to the titular Emerald Maiden – and underwater complex for European elite, where something ominous lurks. As a classic hidden object game, Emerald Maiden requires keen eyes which will help you find items, and logical thinking to solve the puzzles. In addition, a dozen of mini-games supplement the gameplay. Those who are less patient can use a system of hints in the form of a robot accompanying heroine.

The second large expansion pack to an online action game, Star Wars: Battlefront, developed by EA DICE. The Outer Rim DLC introduces four brand new multiplayer maps. They let players fight in the factories and among pipelines and platforms on Sullust, as well as in Jabba the Hutt’s throne room and in his garage on Tatooine. It also expands the game by two new characters: Greedo and Nien Nunba – both are well known to fans of the original movie trilogy. We also get a brand new game mode called Extraction, in which the Rebel forces must see to it that a valuable shipment of resources gets safely delivered to their transport ship, whereas the Empire aims to prevent that from happening. On top of that there are two new weapons and three extra Star Cards: Scatter Gun, Dioxis Grenade, and Adrenaline Stim.

A card game with turn-based strategy elements that uses free-to-play distribution model with microtransactions. Faeria invites the players into an old fantasy world, home to humans as well as other intelligent species. The game puts emphasis on the lore and contains much additional information about the fictional universe. As for the gameplay, Faeria represents an unorthodox approach to the card game genre. Duels between two players are the foundation of the game. The fights are waged by using cards drawn from users’ personal decks. The warriors must also gather resources and use them in the duels. The cards represent heroes, effects and spells, but they cannot be played freely. Instead they have to be used on special, hexagon fields. Empty at first, the map becomes filled with hexes due to the player’s actions, and various terrain types affect the behavior of units and spells. Another innovation in the game is the necessity for characters to find themselves on adjacent fields in order to start the battle. It is worth adding that Faeria also allows the owners of various gaming platforms to face each other.

The second paid expansion for Tom Clancy’s The Division, an online action game with RPG elements. Survival, just like the vanilla game, was developed by Ubisoft Massive, a studio experienced with online titles. Similarly to the first add-on, Underground, Survival first debuted on Xbox One and then came out for PC and PlayStation 4 a month later. The Division is a political thriller in which New York is faced with a biological terrorist attack. As a result of it, the metropolis is cut off from the world and its citizens have to fight for their lives. The entire city is mired in chaos but some places are especially dangerous. These so-called Dark Zones, are where the PvP combat happens, and they are the expansion's main focus. As the title suggests, the add-on introduces a survival mode in which players have to survive as long as possible in Dark Zones.

A thriller adventure game by Wadjet Eye Games. You play as a person, who for the last six months was possessed by a demon using their body to wreak havoc in New York. The protagonist was exorcised by the eponymous organization, which fights dark forces, and decides to join it, having lost their previous life, including their home, family, and friends. During the game, you explore locations, talk to NPCs, gather useful items and solve puzzles. Your chosen biography and in-game decisions shape the story, as does your supporting partner, the choice of which can be difficult, as the five available companions have their own unique personalities and abilities. The main designer of the game is Dave Gilbert, known from the Blackwell series, and the story was written by Jennifer Helper, the writer of e.g. the first two installments of the Dragon Age series.

10 Second Ninja X

A dynamic action platform game in which the player, as the titular ninja warrior, faces an army of robots. 10 Second Ninja X is an improved version of 10 Second Ninja, a game that was released in 2014 on personal computers. Both titles were developed by independent studio Four Circle Interactive. On each level the player is tasked with eliminating robots scattered across the map as fast as possible – by using either katana or firearms. The task is harder due to various traps and the fact that one has only 10 seconds for completing it. This forces the player to repeat the challenges many times in order to obtain the best possible result and reach the top of internet rankings. Successes are awarded with stars which are required for unlocking new levels. There are 100 levels in 10 Second Ninja X, 60 of which were unavailable in the original version of the game. The title offers colorful, simple 2D graphics with resolution upscaled to 1080p.

Set in a fantasy setting, a real-time strategy being another installment in the series started in 2011 with a MMORTS game – Dawn of Fantasy (later re-imagined as a free-to-play game Kingdom Wars). The plot in Kingdom Wars 2: Battles takes us to the land plunged into the chaos of war between humans, elves, and orcs. With the advent of the undead, the fourth powerful race, the divided parties need to join their forces and together face the new, dreadful enemy. Mechanics combine aspects of classic RTS games with a number of modern solutions, like card games, survival elements, and an extensive crafting system. Gameplay consists of economic and military levels – achieve strategic excellence and fortify and siege strongholds. The game concentrates on the single player campaign, yet still follows in its predecessors’ footsteps, introducing a wide range of multiplayer modes as well.

DarkMaus’ story takes place in a land inhabited by humanoid rodents and other intelligent animals. The player takes control over a lone mouse warrior, traversing the world corrupted by darkness in search of anything worth saving. Gameplay focuses on exploration and fights with various monsters, offering arcade, but relatively slow-paced battles. Players are given classic character progression system and a wide array of equipment, including many types of weapons and spells. The game presents a quite high difficulty level, with the proper choice of equipment and tactics playing crucial role, along with dodging and blocking, which are often more important than reckless offensive actions.

The game comes down to exploration and clashing in dynamic duels, which require using the unique skills of over 30 heroes, representing one of four available classes. Game mechanics are quite simple and based on choosing the appropriate members and skillful usage of possessed powers. The game also features an RPG-like character development system and numerous pieces of equipment to collect. The production is designed both for solitary players and those preferring multiplayer.

A third-person arcade game developed by a Disney Interactive's proprietary studio. The game is based on the famous science-fiction movie franchise, TRON. The action takes place in a virtual world located within a computer system. The protagonist, Kevin Flynn, is a programmer and the main character of the original 1982 movie. The gameplay mechanics were inspired by a popular genre existing on mobile devices - games known as endless runners. However, this game introduces a series of changes required for it to fit into the specifics of regular gaming systems. The individual routes in the game are not infinite or even randomly generated, each has its starting and ending points. The game offers two different types of routes that can be traveled sprinting on foot or sitting on a motorbike. Each of the routes available is filled with different traps and threats that have to be avoided by performing risky stunts. When running, the player also collects different bonuses and fights enemies in occasional combat sequences.

An old-school 2D platform game developed by Tribute Games, whose best-known work is Mercenary Kings. The main hero of Ninja Senki DX is a warrior named Hayate, who seeks revenge on demons for the death of princess Kinuhime. The protagonists decides to cast aside the iron rules of his clan and set out on a lethal crusade against the residents of the hell, mythological beasts, and other enemies. In terms of gameplay, it is a typical arcade game in which the hero jumps across platforms, collects coins and various power-ups, avoids traps, and deals with enemies using an endless supply of (in this particular case) shurikens. The journey leads him through more and more dangerous enemies. In order to defeat bosses you have to find and take advantage of their weaknesses. The game features simple pixel art graphics, so to resemble classic NES games.
