In the city of Starfall an interdimensional hole has materialized. The players take on the roles of adventurers, who arrive in the city in search for wealth and money. You control a group of heroes, who explore trap-filled maps and fight enemies.

The game was created by Kronos Digital Entertainment, under the auspices of Square Enix - the owner of the franchise. Contrary to its predecessors, Fear Effect Sedna is a tactical action game played from an isometric view and inspired by Shadowrun Returns - a role-playing game. The action takes place in a cyberpunk world featuring fantasy elements.

Decimated creatures discovered that they can control human bodies and they intend to take advantage of this ability. The gameplay in Ambition of the Slimes focuses on turn-based battles that take place on a tactical map. The fights are strongly unusual due to the abilities of the slimes.
