Sekiro Shadows Die Twice: How to enter the Fountainhead Palace?

Fountainhead Palace is the last big region in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. This page contains all the necessary steps you have to complete in order to unlock this location.

• Step 1 - Stay loyal to Kuro in the game's finale
• Step 2 - Defeat Great Owl Shinobi
• Step 3 - Talk to Emma and Kuro
• Step 4 - Be sure that you have the important key items
• Step 5 - Interact with the incense
• Step 6 - Pray at the Wedding Cave

Step 1 - Stay loyal to Kuro in the game's finale

The finale starts when Ashina Castle gets attacked. You need to go through this location again (Sculptor's Idols unlocked in this location have been deactivated) and reach the rooftop. There, you will find Great Shinobi Owl. Speak to him and choose the second option (stay loyal to Kuro).

Step 2 - Defeat Great Owl Shinobi

This choice initiates a fight with Great Shinobi Owl. You have to defeat him on the rooftop. The description of that fight is in the Bosses chapter.

Step 3 - Talk to Emma and Kuro

Emma the Physician and Kuro are both in Kuro's Room. You can get there by following the stairs next to the castle's rooftop. In Kuro's case, it is important to talk with him after the conversation with the boy ends. Thanks to that you will speak about various important topics.

Step 4 - Be sure that you have the important key items

You need to own four specific quest items. You can get them by defeating certain main bosses:

Aromatic Branch is dropped by Great Shinobi Owl (the fight is described in step 2).

You can get Lotus of the Palace right after you defeat Guardian Ape in Sunken Valley.

You can get Shelter Stone right after you defeat Corrupted Monk in Ashina Depths.

You can receive the Mortal Blade from the Child of Rejuvenation - this happens after you defeat Folding Screen Monkeys in Senpou Temple.

Kuro will give you a new quest item - Page's Diary.

Step 5 - Interact with the incense

Go back to Emma and speak to her about the idea of using the Mortal Blade to get Kuro's blood. You will receive a new quest item - Immortal Severance Scrap.

Go back to Kuro and speak to him. After that, Interact with the incense. Wolf will use the Mortal Blade to cut Kuro's skin and get his blood sample. The boy will tell you about the Fountainhead Palace.

Step 6 - Pray at the Wedding Cave

Use fast travel and move to Wedding Cave Door in Ashina Depths. Enter the cave where you found the Shelter Stone. Go to the tent presented in the picture. Go inside and press the interaction button to pray.

Watch the cut-scene. The giant will "transport" Wolf to the Fountainhead Palace.
