Sekiro Shadows Die Twice: How to unlock Hirata Estates?
This section of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice guide includes information on how to unlock success to Hirata Estate. This is an important location, where you can find two important prosthetic tools and wage a number of boss fights.
- Step 1 - Meet the old lady at Ashina Outskirts
- Step 2 - Return to the Dilapidated Temple
- Step 3 - Pray by the Buddha's idol
Step 1 - Meet the old lady at Ashina Outskirts

Start by exploring Ashina Outskirts, and more precisely the Outskirts Wall. Before reaching the castle, you have to cross a shattered village. Look for the destroyed house shown in the screenshot above. Inside it, you will meet an old lady (screenshot 2).

During the conversation, you will receive the Young Lord's Bell Charm.
Optionally, you can interact with woman's badly injured son - Inosuke Nogami.
Step 2 - Return to the Dilapidated Temple

Return to the Dilapidated Temple and talk to the Sculptor about the object you received.
Step 3 - Pray by the Buddha's idol

Stay in the same room and approach Buddha's idol. Pray.

A cutscene sequence will be initiated. The protagonist will go back in time by 3 years to find himself at the Hirata Estates.
Henceforth, you can freely travel between the present (Ashina Outskirts and other locations) and the past (Hirata Estates). We recommend exploring initial locations at the estate to find the quest items necessary to craft Loaded Axe and Flame Vent prosthetic tools.
