A side-scrolling fighting game classified as a slasher, set in a fantasy world, and a conversion of the hit production from arcade machines of the SEGA company. Action of Golden Axe takes place in a land of Yuri, invaded by a barbarian named Death Adder, who kidnapped the king and his daughter, wanting to take possession of the legendary golden axe. Three heroes arise to fight him: a barbarian, a dwarf, and an amazon, each of them specializing in a different type of weapon. During the game we continually move to the right side of the screen, traversing subsequent levels and confronting scores of enemies, as well as powerful bosses. Apart from wielding weapons, the game also allows us to mount dragons, and in the most critical moments, use magic, the power of which increases as we collect special mana potions. The game can be played with another person, offering a co-op adventure mode or classic one on one duels (with another hero or with subsequent enemies).

Another full-fledged installment in the popular series of third-person perspective action games with tactical features. The series is developed by the Japanese studio Omega Force. The story of Dynasty Warriors 9 is loosely based on the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms that describes the Chinese civil war that occurred during the 2nd and 3rd century. The player can choose from a few dozen of varied characters, some of which are well known from the previous entries in the series. The rest are completely new characters or ones from other games from this developer. The gameplay focuses on real-time battles with hundreds of participants. The title was released as part of the 15th anniversary of the series and it introduces some important novelties to the saga, including a modified combat system and a large open world that contains the entirety of China. The key to victory lies in proper usage of available weapons and special abilities of various characters and in taking advantage of the topography of the battlefields.

Their task is to discover the truth behind the actions of the malicious creatures and to prevent them from achieving their goals. Similar to the original game, Trine 2 is a two-dimensional platformer. The gameplay features arcade elements (jumping, fighting, etc.) and puzzle solving. The main characters have gained new abilities and can also search for hidden treasures and bottles containing experience points. The sequel features also a new game mode, implementing cooperative online multiplayer.

The third installment of the series of fighting games Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm that is based on the popular manga created by Masashi Kishimoto. A science-fiction based TPP shooter, which is the fourth installment in a popular series by Volition. The plot of Red Faction: Armageddon takes place fifty years after the events shown in the previous game. The humanity on Mars has been forced to descend to hide underground. The protagonist, Darius Mason, accidentally causes an alien race to wake up from their slumber. As it turns out, the aliens are aggressive and bloodthirsty, taking over subsequent human colonies. Our hero has to deal with the alien invasion, and at the same time, absolve himself from the accusations that he is responsible for the whole situation. When it comes to mechanics, the game departs from its predecessor, introducing a more linear structure, with more emphasis on the plot and movie-like approach to narration. Regardless, the most characteristic element of the series, the ability to lay waste to the environment using various weapons and other tools, has stayed unchanged.

The third installment in the series of fighting games started in the nineties. The game was developed by Double Helix Games, creators of Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters and MX vs. ATV Reflex. In Killer Instinct the player assumes the role of a warrior of his choosing and fights against computer opponents or human rivals (cross-platform playing is supported). Among the characters one can find many interesting individuals – including ones well known from previous entries in the series (for example Thunder, Jago, Sabrewulf and Glacius). Each character has unique abilities and combat tactics. The rivals are facing each other on two-dimensional arenas with hand-drawn backgrounds. The battles itself are arcade and very dynamic – the players can perform many attack combinations, blocks, and special attacks. Rich social features are an interesting addition. Killer Instinct offers 2,5D graphics and uses cel-shading technology thanks to which the characters and locations have a comic book-like look.

The players take on the roles of professional wrestlers from NXT and WWE leagues, and take part in encounters in the ring. A series of improvements were introduced into the combat system - above all, the wrestlers can perform more moves now. Fighting is not all about exchange of attacks, as the player often brings the opponent down, throws them at the mat, or even out of the ring, in order to continue the fight closer to the audience or in the backstage. Among the available wrestlers, one will find Seth Rollins (depicted on the game's cover), Chris Jericho, Andre The Giant, John Cena, The Rock or the Bella sisters. WWE 2K18 offers plenty of game modes, both single player and multiplayer ones. MyCareer is the most important of them, as the player leads a wrestler of their choice to fame and money through subsequent victories.

An expanded version of a popular indie game that has been released in 2011 by Team Meat studio. Nicalis studio, a bit more experienced team, has been involved in refreshing of the title, in cooperation with original developers. When it comes to mechanics, the gameplay hasn’t changed much, offering randomly-generated levels, traversed by the titular Isaac, who solves simple puzzles and eliminates monsters or much more powerful bosses. The main difference between the Flash-based original, is a completely new graphic engine, introducing new, improved visuals and a number of innovations that, as a result of technological limitations, hadn’t made their way into the original. The developers included the whole base game and its two DLCs, and introduced a number of novelties. A local co-op mode has been incorporated in the game, allowing two players to take part in a joint playthrough on one screen.

A spectacular fighting game starring the DC Comics superheroes. The production was developed by NetherRealm, the creators of the 2011 game Mortal Kombat. The story mode features an alternative world, in which a power-hungry version of Superman has taken over the world. He is opposed by a group of heroes from the “default” reality. Mechanics-wise, Injustice: Gods Among Us is mostly inspired by Mortal Kombat. Every playable character (e.g. Batman, the Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Superman) has their own unique powers, which they can use in combat. The Ultimate edition of the game includes all the upgrades and DLC packs.

A sequel to the 2013 arcade fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us by NetherRealm Studios, known for the latest Mortal Kombat games. Like in its predecessor, in Injustice 2 you play as the characters from the DC universe, fighting each other in violent duels. The game features minimal plot, in which Batman and his supporters try to rebuild the society, but at the same time have to fight against Superman and his allies. Among the chaos, a new danger appears, threatening to wipe out all of humanity. Mechanics-wise, Injustice 2 is a spectacular Mortal Kombat-like 2.5D fighting game, although it's not as violent. You can play as either a hero or a villain; available characters include Superman, the Flash, Batman, Supergirl, Aquaman, Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd. The sequel also allows for modifying your chosen character. During the gameplay, you earn new equipment, which can alter not only your character's appearance, but also their abilities.
