Initially, Half-Life 2: Episode Three was supposed to be issued directly after the previous two episodes, released in years 2006 and 2007, but the project was canceled for unknown reasons. Story-wise, it was to be a continuation of the events presented by its predecessors and to bring a closure to many unresolved plots from the entire trilogy (e.g. events concerning the legendary Borealis ship and the technology found therein, all of which were to be destroyed by Gordon Freeman, the main protagonist). At the end of Episode Two, Freeman and his companion, Alyx, fly to Antarctica to find out what happened in the base located therein and why was it attacked by the Combine. Episode Three was supposed to provide explanations.

A sequel to the 2001 strategy game Europa Universalis II, which focused on a 400 years period between 1419 and 1820. Crusader Kings can be considered a prologue of the previous standalone installment of the franchise, taking place earlier and allowing us to lead the European nations in the years 1066-1419. Like its predecessor, Crusader Kings is a faithful simulation of the period, taking into account diplomatic, social, military, religious and feudal relations. The greatest difference between the two games is the fact that Crusader Kings doesn't focus solely on the development of your nation, but building the prestige and influence of your dynasty. A huge innovation is the new combat system, faithfully recreating the differences in the offensive capabilities of the individual nation's units.

The second official expansion pack for the third installment in a series of turn-based strategy games developed by Sid Meier and his new studio Firaxis Games. The expansion gives an opportunity to take part in the largest conquests recorded so far by the human history (in Mesopotamia or America for example). In each of the eight in-game campaigns, the player assumes control over one of new nations (the Maya and the Sumerians mainly) - those have their own leaders, unique units, technologies, as well as special abilities and features. As usual, the player leads the civilization of their choice to glory through taking care of its economic, cultural and military development. Furthermore, the game was enriched with a set of additional elements, including new victory conditions, wonders, environmental objects, resources, catastrophes, natural disasters, buildings, city upgrades, diplomatic options and types of government. What's more, Sid Meier's Civilization III: Conquests offers play-by-email sessions. Both the map and scenario editors were improved.

A role-playing game developed by BioWare (the creators of Baldur's Gate), based on the third edition of the Dungeons & Dragons system. The plot takes place in the fictional world of the Forgotten Realms and is centered on a mysterious plague sweeping the eponymous city of Neverwinter. The protagonist's task is to discover who is behind the illness and why did they start it. The story is divided into a prologue and four chapters, every one of them taking place in a different area (and you cannot return to a previously visited location). During the gameplay you do the respective missions, gather gold and items, level up your character, and, of course, fight enemies. The characters act in turns but the combat itself takes place in real time, though featuring active pause, and—like in D&D—the results of most actions are calculated based on dice throws. The game's strong point is the multiplayer mode, which features several types of gameplay, from simple duels to complex epics.

The player sits behind the wheel of a futurist car that, apart from driving at insane speeds, can also fly, jump, rapidly rotate around its axis, and use afterburners. The tracks are full of imaginative traps and exploring them plays an important role, as well. Of course, the driving model is purely arcade, and while racing, we constantly perform wild stunts. Instead of circling around one route, we try to reach the end of the map as quickly as possible. Reaching the finish line is made easier by the gadgets mounted in the car that allow us to drive on ceilings and walls, among other things. Distance offers a number of varied modes for a single player and for multiplayer play. The developers have also prepared a powerful editor that lets users create their own tracks.

Defeating enemies, apart from valuable experience points, grants us blueprints that unlock new spaceships. Exploring the space, we can find parts that enhance the statistics of our fleet or, alternatively, buy them on the interplanetary market. The game received a free expansion entitled Bounty Hunters that includes new bounty hunters’ ships, the respect system, and challenges, among other things.
