The third installment in the series of adventure games started in 1999 with Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. Dreamfall: Chapters was developed by Red Thread Games led by Ragnar Tornquist. The story of the game presents further adventures of the young protagonist, Zoe Castillo, who thanks to her highly unusual powers is able to travel between three worlds: the magical Arcadia, the technologically advanced Stark and the mysterious Storytime. Since it is a traditional adventure game, the gameplay focuses on such features like item gathering, conversations with non-playable characters and riddle solving. Despite the rather small budget of the game, developers of Dreamfall: Chapters have created attractive visuals generated by using the popular Unity Engine.

An extraordinary point-and-click adventure game and a spiritual successor to the legendary The Neverhood, a game developed in 1996 by Doug TenNapel. This new title was created by the author of the original game, who managed to gather nearly entire old staff back together for this project. The story tells of the adventures of a likeable alien named Tommynaut, who survives a spacecraft crash and finds himself on a strange planet, where together with his companion, dog Beak-Beak, the hero gets captured and locked in the titular stronghold of Armikrog. What distinguishes the game, is its unique artwork – in-game locations and character models were made of plasticine and brought to life using time-lapse technique. This time-consuming work was done by a number of puppeteers, animators, and sculptors. Thanks to their work, the developers managed to recreate the unique atmosphere of the original game, which, apart from interesting story and a cast of likeable characters, offered a large doze of wacky humor.

The action of Resident Evil 2 is set after the events shown in the first installment – nearly all citizens of Raccoon City have been infected by a mysterious virus, which changed them into bloodthirsty zombies. Once again, the player gets to control two characters – this time around it's Leon, a young police officer and Claire, a journalist. Their task is to save Raccoon City from complete destruction and stop the virus before it spreads all over the world. In Resident Evil 2, gameplay revolves around exploration and solving environmental puzzles – another important aspect of the game is fighting numerous foes using a wide range of weapons, limited by scarce amounts of ammunition. As befits an installment in the Resident Evil series, in order to survive and escape consecutive dangers, the player has to carefully manage the supplies they acquire on their adventure.

Another installment in a series of popular horror games created by Scott Cawthon. The game can be considered either a spin-off or simply the next installment in the Five Nights at Freddy's series. As it was mentioned already in the third installment, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza was not the only place occupied by murderous animatronics. In Sister Location, the players is taken to a completely new restaurant, where they are once again required to survive the five titular nights when encountering toys hungry for the protagonist's life. In terms of the mechanics, the game combines successful elements of the predecessors (observation of the building through a camera network for instance) with novelties introduced in the fourth installment, such as being able to move around or greater variety of actions the player can take.

The game invites you into Los Angeles of the 1940’s, a city filled with corruption and drug dealing organizations. You assume the role of Cole Phelps, an ex-soldier who becomes a police officer after the war. The game lets you experience the key moments of Cole’s career, starting from the traffic police all the way through murder and drugs department. Gameplay is mainly about examining crime scenes in search of clues and evidence, as well as interrogating witnesses and suspects. The game also offers multiple action sequences, including pursuits (either on foot or by car), fist fights, and spectacular shootouts. When it comes to graphics, the most noteworthy feature are the realistic face expressions that allow you to judge the reactions of interogatees. The game overflows with a noir atmosphere characteristic of the 1940’ and 50’ movies.

A first-person science fiction horror action game heavily inspired by the works of H.R. Giger, the creator of the xenomorph from the Alien franchise. Scorn takes the players to an unreal world that balances on the verge of dream and reality. It consists of several open locations joined together, built almost exclusively from organic material; each one is characterized by different style and a unique set of logic puzzles. Careful exploration is a very important element of the gameplay, since every thing we accidentally miss can completely change the further course of the game. As we progress, our character masters new skills and finds numerous useful items and weapons. Combat is not the main focus of the gameplay, though, for not every character we encounter is hostile towards us. The main highlight of Scorn is a dense atmosphere of constant anxiety. The production is powered by Unreal Engine 4, and, apart from realistic graphics, features a minimalistic interface which empowers immersion.

After the escape, the duo is forced to rely only on themselves. Although in the beginning they cannot stand each other, over time they establish a specific relationship. In Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, we fight with pursuing machines and solve puzzles, while the protagonist duo complements each other. Monkey specializes mainly in fighting, while Trip is useful in situations requiring cleverness and intelligence. She can also hack computers and squeeze through narrow passages, which are impassable for her companion.

Harold Halibut is a science fiction adventure game, which stands out from similar games due to its hand-crafted visuals. The developers - members of the German studio Slow Bros - have created all the elements of the in-game world from wood, metal, gum, and other materials. Moreover, they have transferred physical props into the virtual environment with photogrammetry software. This allowed them to combine the puppets and the locations, as if they were taken directly from stop-motion animation with the 3D graphics technologies, such as lighting effects. This process has resulted in a unique atmosphere of the game. The story revolves around the titular Harold Halibut, a cleaner and a conservator aboard a giant spaceship stranded in the depths of an alien ocean. In between his regular responsibilities, Harold helps the scientists from the ship's research department. The chief scientist is trying to find a way to restart the ship's engines in order to leave the planet.

The fourth and final installment of the independent horror game series by Scott Cawthon. In Five Nights at Freddy’s 4, we have to face the murderous animatronic toys yet again. Compared to its predecessors, the title's gameplay formula has been changed. While plying, we do not assume the role of a security guard anymore, but a small child that has to survive the five eponymous nights in his own home which is overrun by bloodthirsty toys. We cannot track their movements by a monitoring system and have to check out each of the five available locations (two parts of a kid's bedroom, cabinet, and left and right hall) on our own.
