The fourth installment in the comedy adventure game series initially planned as a trilogy. however, under the pressure of fan expectations, the creators from Daedalic Entertainment decided to create one more entry in the franchise. Deponia Doomsday continues the story of Rufus, who had a vision of a disaster striking the idyllic floating city of Elysium and his home, garbage heap-planet Deponia. Once he woke up from his nightmare, he decided to do everything he can in order to prevent the cataclysm from happening. He asks professor McChronicle for help and by using his time machine he sets out on a crazy journey in time and space. When it comes to gameplay mechanics, the game does not differ from the previous parts and concentrates on exploration, dialogues with NPCs, and puzzle solving. Even though Deponia Doomsday was released several years after the third part of the game, the visuals look very much the same, once again utilizing the series' distinctive style.

The third installment in the classic point ‘n’ click adventure game series that was launched in 2006. In Secret Files 3: The Archimedes Code, we assume the role of the well-known pair of protagonists, Nina Kalenko and Max Gruber (optionally, two other characters, as well), yet again. This time around, the heroes try to solve the mystery of the Pi. During their adventure not only do they visit various corners of our planet but also a post-apocalyptic world and even travel back in time to the ancient Alexandria and renaissance Florentia. Traditionally, our tasks involve exploring locations, gathering and using items, talking to non-player characters, and solving various kinds of puzzles that include numerous arcade logic mini-games. Contrary to its predecessors, Secret Files 3 forces us to make mutually exclusive choices that lead to one of four alternative conclusions of the story.

The third installment in a light-hearted adventure game series created by Czech developer Amanita Design, who also created such titles as Botanicula and Machinarium. Once again, you play as the little space gnome, who does not speak and communicates with the world solely by gestures and strange sounds. In terms of gameplay, Samorost 3 is a typical point-and-click adventure game that focuses on exploration of diversified locations and solving inventive logic puzzles. In contrast to its predecessors, which were very short and simple productions, the newest installment in the Samorost series is a full-fledged production offering several hours of gameplay. The game’s unquestionable strength are its audiovisuals. The graphics were created with a technique that combines photography and hand-drawn elements. The atmosphere is further enhanced by the soundtrack composed by Tomas Dvorak, known from previous productions by Amanita Design.

An action adventure game which is a remake of the 1989's Prince of Persia, one of the most popular platformers of all time, originally developed Broberbund Software. The game was created by Ubisoft Motreal and Jordan Mechner – the father of the original game, who worked on The Sands of Time as consultant and lead designer. The game tells a story of the eponymous Prince who accidentally releases the legendary Sands of Time, a mystical artifact that poses a terrible threat to the world. With the help of the beautiful princess Farah, the protagonist has to make up for his mistake and bring back order to his land by facing various creatures and dangers. Gameplay of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is seen from the third-person perspective and features fully 3D graphics. During the course of the game, the hero makes use of the supernatural power to control the time. The creators emphasize their effort to recreate the characteristic elements of the original title, like realistic animations and combat system.

An indie FPP adventure game and the debut production of the American Campo Santo studio. The team comprises of veteran developers, previously working on such titles as The Walking Dead, Mark of the Ninja, BioShock 2, and Brutal Legend. The story of Firewatch takes place in an enormous forest in the American state of Wyoming, where our hero is trying to escape his day-to-day problems by becoming a ranger. This seemingly calm profession turns into an extremely complicated one, when various unexplainable events take place in the area that our character is charged with patrolling. The incidents are directly connected to our hero’s boss – Delilah, with whom we constantly keep in touch via radio. Building up relations with our superior is one of the key aspects of the game, as she is the only NPC featured in the production. The gameplay revolves exclusively around the single player mode; the popular Unity engine powers the game’s visuals.

A typical point-and-click adventure game and a continuation to 2012's Yesterday. Yesterday Origins was developed by the creators of the original game - the Spanish Pendulo Studios. Again, the player takes on the role of John Yesterday; as for the plot, it was divided into two timelines. Thus the player, familiar with present-day events, is taken back to the era of the Spanish Inquisition. In terms of game mechanics, the game follows the pattern of its predecessor. The player explores the in-game locations, talks to NPCs, gathers items and solves various puzzles for the most part. Contrary to the first installment however, Yesterday Origins is a fully 3D title, though the creators have once again managed to convey the characteristic atmosphere of the original game through application of the specific, cartoonish art style.

A sandbox game by System Era Softworks. Astroneer is set in the 25th century, when the civilization on Earth has developed enough for interstellar travel to become an everyday occurrence. It resulted in a certain kind of gold fever — people started to explore other planets on their own, driven by the desire of getting rich quick. The open world of the game is procedurally generated, and the surfaces of planets and moons are made of voxels. You play as an astronaut equipped with tools allowing them to dig holes in order to find resources and artifacts, which can be then sold or used to create new items thanks to an expansive crafting system. The system allows not only to make and modify useful equipment and vehicles, but also to build bases. The planets featured in the game vary in terms of gravity, resources, and possible dangers. The game features both a single player mode and a multiplayer mode.

Third-person action adventure game created by the ex-members of Team Ico, led by Fumito Ueda. Previously, the studio had made their name known by giving us two of the most original and highest ranking titles ever to be released on PlayStation 2: Shadow of the Colossus and Ico. Their new game retains similar artwork style and equally unique atmosphere. You play as a young boy trying to escape the guards pursuing him. However, it is not him, but a giant, griffin-like creature named Trico, who is the central character in this story. The little protagonist is able to climb, jump, and squeeze through holes between rocks, but in some cases he needs help from the griffin, who can remove larger obstacles or carry the boy into seemingly inaccessible places. The authors put much emphasis on the character's interactions with Trico and the creature’s artificial intelligence, as he has his own individual character and reacts differently depending on the situation.

The game of the same title is set in the 12th-century, in the tumultuous period known as the Anarchy. After the sudden death of king Henry I and the only heir to the throne having been killed in the crash of the White Ship, England gets consumed in a violent war of succession. With the war in the background and the tensions between the nobles, clergy and the common people constantly growing, the game tells a story about an attempt to raise a monumental cathedral in a fictional city of Kingsbridge in the south of the country. As for the game’s mechanics, The Pillars of the Earth is no different from a typical adventure game with gameplay based on exploration of different locations, conducting conversations, and solving various logic puzzles.

The prince has to save the mythical Tree of Life by healing subsequent parts of the land poisoned by Ahriman and his allies. The protagonist is accompanied by Elika - daughter of the antagonist. She is a skilled magician and offers help during exploration, puzzle solving and combat. The gameplay emphasizes platformer elements - a typical aspect of the franchise. The protagonist can jump and climb almost anywhere, and he is capable of performing spectacular combos thanks to the improved combat system, useful especially when fighting more powerful enemies. The game offers an unusual art style, distinguishing it from its predecessors. This was achieved using the cel shading technique.

Certain districts have been separated from others by a high wall, and this ghetto is used to contain the so called “worse part of society”. The players take control of two kids trying to survive in the cruel new reality. My Memory Of Us uses side-view camera angle to present the world, and the controlled duo must support each other to overcome all obstacles and solve all puzzles. One of the game’s selling points is a simplified dialogue system based on symbols, as well as its setting being inspired by actual life in Poland under German occupation during World War II, especially inside Jewish ghettos. It also stands out with the monochromatic colors of its visuals.

The main goal of the developers was to recreate the interior of the Titanic as faithfully as possible, and, in addition to the story campaign, a special free exploration mode has been prepared to allow us to go sightseeing on the famous ship, look around its almost every corner and interact with various objects on the deck.

In the game you play as a trio of heroes who are trying to save the world from a threat posed by the titular tentacle. After coming into contact with an unknown substance it acquired consciousness and high intelligence. The only salvation seems to be traveling back in time in order to prevent the tentacle from being born. However, after the time machine malfunctions, the situation gets more complicated, as the heroes get trapped in three different historical periods. The creators made sure that the new edition was faithful to the original ideas, offering as much absurd humor as the original and the unique 2D visuals that are reminiscent of classic cartoons by Warner Bros.

We experience the game from an FPP view, which creates a feeling of true fear in conjunction with engrossing story and climatic audiovisuals.

The gameplay of Agony is based on exploration of underground depths and solving logic puzzles. Since the hero does not have any combat abilities, we have to avoid confrontation with hellish beasts. The protagonist can take over minds of encountered souls and lesser demons, which comes in handy. The production is powered by Unreal Engine 4 which translates into high-quality graphics. The well-designed environment and horrifying demonic creatures made with attention to detail are especially noteworthy.

The player traverses an extensive, open world - the game is non-linear and the player is free to explore and look for subsequent clues. The game offers many unique mechanics related to making links between different pieces of the puzzle. Walking around the grim areas of Red Creek Valley, the protagonist makes use of his extraordinary abilities, making contact with the dead, experiencing various visions and visiting alternative realities. Utilizing the Unreal Engine 3, the game stands out with its high-quality visuals supported by technologies allowing to convert photographs of real-existing places into digital pictures.

Franklin is another of the characters the player will be in control of in this game; one day, he (Franklin) discovers that he has died. The player will also assume control of two detectives investigating a case of a body found nearby; Dolores on the other hand, needs to read the testament of her rich uncle. When it comes to the story, the creators mixed a unique taste in humor with different possible endings. All of this is complemented by visuals modeled after LucasArts' classics, as well as an interface resembling the legendary SCUMM system.

What is important about the restaurant, is that mechanical mascots are its main attraction. A seemingly easy job turns into a true nightmare during the very first night, when the protagonist discovers that the sympathetic animatronics come to life after dark and display a hostile attitude towards humans. Trapped in a cramped watch room, the protagonist has to avoid contact with murderous robots during five subsequent nights. The task is not easy, because using various devices, such as lighting and monitoring systems, as well as locking the door drains the power supply, which has to be appropriately managed throughout the entire night. Despite its simplistic mechanics, Five Nights at Freddy's provides a good dose of anxiety and is capable of frightening the player with ease.

The action of The Sexy Brutale takes place inside an old English mansion transformed into a casino by the mysterious Marquis. One day, its workers murder all the guests. However, the player gets the chance to save them. You assume the role of a priest named Lafcadio Boone who – just like in the movie Groundhog Day – falls into a time loop and relives the day of the murder again and again. Primarily, the title focuses on investigating each homicide and figuring out how to prevent it. To do that, you will have to explore, chat, solve mysteries, and face occasional stealth challenges. Advanced AI deserves special recognition as it simulates the way the guests live and react.

A science-fiction adventure game set in a dystopian world and created by Daedalic Entertainment. The action takes place in Berlin, and the year is 2048. State of Mind presents a grim prediction on the future of mankind struggling with unending wars, shrinking resources and governments establishing their regimes. The player assumes the role of a man who decides to abandon the physical world along with his family through the digitalization of human consciousness and settle in a utopian, virtual environment known as City 5. Unfortunately however, something goes wrong when the data transfer is being made and the player's task is to help the protagonist to finish the transfer and rejoin his family. In terms of the mechanics, State of Mind is a typical adventure game requiring the player to explore the in-game environments, talk to other characters, collect items and solve puzzles. The player takes on the roles of several different characters undergoing mutual interactions.

The third installment in the series of adventure games started in 1999 with Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. Dreamfall: Chapters was developed by Red Thread Games led by Ragnar Tornquist. The story of the game presents further adventures of the young protagonist, Zoe Castillo, who thanks to her highly unusual powers is able to travel between three worlds: the magical Arcadia, the technologically advanced Stark and the mysterious Storytime. Since it is a traditional adventure game, the gameplay focuses on such features like item gathering, conversations with non-playable characters and riddle solving. Despite the rather small budget of the game, developers of Dreamfall: Chapters have created attractive visuals generated by using the popular Unity Engine.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 provides a continuation to an unusual game created by Scott Cawthon and awarded a series of prizes - it was considered the most original horror title of 2014. In this second installment, the player takes on the role of a new watchman working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Despite the warnings received from his predecessor, he decided to give it a try and stay at the restaurant overnight. Although the entire building was rebuilt and the famous animatronics were gifted with completely new software along with a face recognition system, the robots are still hungry for human lives after dark. Surviving five subsequent nights at the restaurant turns out to be quite a challenge. In terms of the mechanics, the second installment is based on a slightly modified gameplay formula of the original game. Instead of being in charge of a lighting system, the protagonist is equipped with only a flashlight. The watch room has one entrance only now, but without a door. Thus the only way to avoid getting killed by the animatronics here is to put on a special mask which fools the face recognition systems of the robots.
