The action takes us to a bleak universe, suffering as a result of the fall of a mysterious meteorite and the action of a strange, cosmic substance called metamorphite.

He arrives in an abandoned mining town and discovers most of its inhabitants have disappeared after entering a mysterious temple, deep down beneath the village. Our hero decides to stop the awakened evil, rescue the town’s inhabitants, and then safely return to his home.

The title was created by Polish developer CreativeForge Games, consisting of creators of such franchises like Call of Juarez and Dead Island. The game is set in the 19th-century Wild West. Already troubled by lawlessness, the land gets stricken by a series of supernatural phenomena.

The non-linear plot leads to one of eleven endings, depending on the player’s in-game choices.

Developed by the American Aloft Studio, Hazelnut Bastille is an attempt to recreate the best features of 2D games released in the 90s for SNES. The creators brought both an adequate visual style and a fitting soundtrack, but they also limited the aspect ratio to 4:3 for example.
