Welcome to the series that discusses the most important upcoming releases on Steam. This week is going to be great for fans of survival games, life sims, and tactical shooters.

Release of the week is Tales of the Shire (July 29, 2025)

Tales of the Shire is a cozy game that combines RPG, life simulation, and farming strategy elements, allowing you to control a Hobbit from Tolkien's Middle-earth. The Hobbit will have to take care of his den, cook, make friends, and explore the picturesque surroundings.

The Polish car action game Fumes is inspired by the traditions of the Twisted Metal and Interstate series. The game is all about retro style, and the cool thing is that we'll be playing with machines inspired by those from the Polish People's Republic, like the Fiat 126p, Polonez, and Wartburg.

Inkborn (Early Access)

Inkborn is an RPG combined with a roguelike game, where you engage in turn-based battles using collected cards. All of this will be presented in a unique graphic design inspired by origami.

The project was developed by Acram Digital, the creators of such games as Dawnmaker, Concordia, and Steam: Rails to Riches, which respectively have 92%, 84%, and 78% positive reviews on Steam.

One-Eyed Likho

First-person adventure game with a psychological horror theme. One-Eyed Likho is heavily inspired by Slavic mythology, and the player takes on the role of a blacksmith trying to uncover the secrets of a gloomy forest.

This is the latest game from the Morteshka team, the developers of The Mooseman and Black Book, which have, respectively, 89% and 93% positive reviews on Steam.

Primal Planet

Primal Planet is a pixel art platformer game in the style of metroidvania. Its action will take place on a planet inhabited by dinosaurs, and we will play the role of a caveman. Apart from the solo mode, the title will also offer a rarely seen co-op mode in this genre.

Recharge (Early Access)

Recharge is a racing game where we control radio-controlled cars. Unlike most games of this genre, Room Games' creation aims to offer a high level of realism, especially in terms of driving physics.

A World of Keflings

A World of Keflings is a family strategy game about building a kingdom. The game launched in 2010 on the Xbox 360 console and only now will it get a PC version. The PC release will offer improved graphics and a better interface.

Achilles: Survivor

This week, Achilles: Survivor, a game belonging to the arena survival genre popularized by Vampire Survivors, will leave early access. It is developed by Dark Point Games, the creators of Achilles: Legends Untold.

The Early Access version was warmly received, it has 80% positive reviews on Steam (out of 373 user reviews).

Day of the Shell

Day of the Shell is a turn-based, tactical roguelite game based on an interesting concept: every click will be a move. This will make the game more dynamic than its turn-based nature suggests.

The free demo of Prologue on Steam has a 95% positive review score, although only 81 platform users have rated this demo version.

Terminull Brigade

In Terminull Brigade, a TPP shooter enriched with roguelike elements and based on a free-to-play model, we will be able to play alone or in co-op mode, to participate in a virtual rebellion in futuristic, digital worlds.

Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance: Uprising

Fans of Terminator: Dark Fate are counting down the days to the release of the Defiance: Uprising expansion. This time, instead of just following orders, we'll be leading the resistance movement. We'll have to manage the war against the machines on a strategic level, not just in battles.

Dead Take

Dead Take is a psychological horror with a star-studded cast including Ben Starr, Sam Lake, Jane Perry, Alanah Pearce, and Laura Bailey. In the game, we play as an actor exploring a creepy mansion in Hollywood, where all the guests have disappeared and mysterious figures have taken their place.

The title is the latest project from the Surgent Studios team, the developers of Tales of Kenzera: ZAU (82% positive reviews on Steam).

Frosthaven (Early Access)

Frosthaven, with a turn-based combat system, is based on a popular board game. It allows for solo or co-op fun, where you can fight and build together in a dark and fantastical world.

The game was developed by Snapshot Games, managed by Julian Gollop (the father of the XCOM series), the creators of Phoenix Point.

Gold Gold Adventure Gold

Gold Gold Adventure Gold is a fantasy strategy game known as a "reverse RPG." In the game, we'll build a city and attract heroes to it to assign them quests. On the side, we will take care of raising our own monster. The title is the first project of Can Can Can a Man studio.

Grounded 2 (Early Access)

You should also check out Grounded 2, which is coming out in early access today. This is a follow-up to the popular survival game from Obsidian Entertainment, where we control shrunken kids. The sequel will offer a bigger world, including the whole city park, and the ability to use insects as mounts and helpers.

The first installment is really popular - it has a 90% positive rating on Steam from over 78,000 user reviews.

Heartworm

Heartworm is a survival horror inspired by the first installments of the Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Fatal Frame series. We'll be playing as a young woman fighting ghosts with a camera.

Hell Galaxy (Early Access)

Hell Galaxy will also launch in early access this week. This space simulator with RPG elements lets you explore an open galaxy and take on both combat and trading missions.

Mecharashi

Mecharashi is a tactical turn-based game that uses a free-to-play model with microtransactions. In the game, players engage in battles between mechs. The game is meant for solo fun only, and the creators promise an extensive mech modification system and the ability to destroy specific parts of these machines.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is a spin-off of the iconic action game series in the form of a 2D platformer focusing on combat.

The project was developed by The Game Kitchen studio, the creators of Blasphemous and Blasphemous 2, which have, respectively, 90% and 91% positive reviews on Steam.

Paradigm Island

Paradigm Island is an isometric RPG that places a strong emphasis on making choices. Players will take on the role of a mercenary, and their decisions will shape the course of the armed conflict. Prospector

Prospector will offer a mix of strategy and simulation, where we will create automated mining outposts on alien planets. It will be necessary to gather resources and create production chains, but also to fight enemies.

SWAT Commander is a tactical FPS, inspired by the SWAT series and the first three installments of the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six cycle. The production is the result of collaboration between independent studios Red Mountain Games from Ukraine and Ritual Interactive from Poland.

Market Garden

Market Garden will be a first-person shooter game designed only for single-player. As the title suggests, the game will be set during World War II and will be inspired by the gameplay of FPS games from the PlayStation 2 era.
