How to change the time of day?
Yes, in Dead Island 2, you can change the time of day. However, it should be mentioned that the game doesn't have a day-night cycle i.e. the time of day doesn''t change on its own. To be able to change the time of day, you first need to unlock fast travel (to learn how to do it, visit Is there Fast Travel? page of the guide. When on the fast travel map, teleport to any chosen LA district.
Once you've chosen your destination, you can decide whether you want to appear at the location during the day or night, and then confirm your choice.
Does the current time of day matters?
In case of Dead Island 2, the time of day doesn't affect gameplay much. This is mainly a marginal aesthetic change. Although, when searching for collectibles, at night they are more visible, as they are lit in white. This makes them easy to spot, much more than in case of daytime.
