Dead Island 2: How to get money fast?
Money in Dead Island 2 is used to repair and upgrade weapons, but also to buy various items from merchants. On this page of the guide, you will learn how to get a large amount of cash in a short period of time.
On this page of our Dead Island 2 guide, we show ways of getting a lot of money in the shortest possible time. Cash is a basic resource in every phase of the gameplay - either for repairs and weapon upgrades, or to buy various blueprints, consumables, and more.
Selling unused weapons
At the beginning of the game, initial weapons aren't very durable. You will burn through them fast (throwing out weapons with low durability and picking up new along the way), as this is more viable and cost-effective than repairing or upgrading them. However, in further stages of the gameplay, you'll have enough money to maintain upgraded melee weapons and guns. This means that in your inventory there will be unused weapons and it would be a good idea to sell them.

The better the weapon, having a high level and rarity, the more money you will make when selling it. Therefore, if you're sure that you won't use a particular sword, hammer or shotgun, and it takes up space in your inventory, get it to a trader and sell for cash.
Completing Challenges

Challenges offer various rewards for completing them. Among them, a new ability, increasing maximum health, or cash. The advantage of the challenges is that they involve basic actions - killing zombies, searching containers, etc.

Each challenge has several levels. Usually, the first levels will have a small amount of cash as a reward, but the further levels may yield considerable amounts of money. If you lost track of the current challenge (whether the requirements or what reward is there for completing it), you can check it out by pausing the game and entering the Challenges tab in the menu.
Completing story and side quests

This is obvious, but a very good way of earning money. For completing story and side missions, you will not only receive a lot of XP, which when reached a certain threshold, can be used to level up and become stronger, but on top of that you will receive money or higher rarity weapons to use or sell.
Moreover, the higher the Slayer level, the higher rarity weapons will drop from enemies or be found in containers, and these weapons will fetch a higher selling price.
Selling Parts

This is not always feasible, but in some cases it is worth using this option. Consider this mainly when you have a lot of a given part. Most likely, this will apply to the most common ones, such as metal parts, fabrics, or electronics.

Selling a single component most of the time yields $30-60. This is not much, but if you have 99 of a given part on you, you can easily part with around 50 of them. Apply the same with other types of parts. It is better to sell them for a small price and be able to collect them again, rather than not being able to pick up more because of the carry limit.
