Dead Island 2: How to kill Riot Gear Walkers?

In Dead Island 2 you can encounter monsters called Riot Gear Walkers. On this page of the guide you'll find out how to destroy the monsters' armor in order to expose them to your attacks, and how to get rid of armored zombies.

Riot Gear Walkers in the game world

One of the types of zombies that you can encounter in the game world are Riot Gear Walkers. They have full body armor and are by default invulnerable to melee attacks and gunfire. This makes eliminating them a lot more difficult.

Damaging a zombie's armor

You must first deal some damage to the walker's armor. Blunt weapons will work like a charm. The game should inform you that the zombie's armor has become Breakable, and therefore, you're slowly damaging it.

Alternatively, you can also use grenades and bombs, as well as detonate nearby objects (red barrels, tanks, etc.).

Ultimately, you must expose at least 1 part of the zombie's body after destroying a piece of the armor. It's best to remove the monster's head armor by attacking its helmet with a blunt weapon. Once a part of the armor is destroyed, you can attack the exposed areas of the monster's body. This way, you'll get rid of the zombie eventually.
