Dead Island 2: How to beat the final boss (Reubenator)?

In the finale of Dead Island 2's main storyline, you will face a boss called Reubenator. The walkthrough from our guide explains how to get to the lab in Hollywood Boulevard, how to defend yourself against Mutator attacks, and how to kill the final boss.

Location of Reubenator, the final boss

The Reubenator is the mutated Dr. Reed - this is the final boss you must face in the game's finale.

You have to reach the last district called Hollywood Boulevard, start the final main quest Hollywood Ending and reach the secret laboratory hidden behind the clinic. You will experience Reed's transformation into a mutator - he is the final boss.

Final boss fight

A big advantage of the final battle is that you will already know how to fight mutators - the previous boss also was one. As a reminder:

1. For his melee attacks, the boss can grab you (free yourself by completing a QTE) and perform a series of attacks that end with a shockwave - use block (can be countered) or dodge.
2. As for ranged combat, the mutator can spit projectiles that cause bleeding. Block them, dodge or hide behind covers.

Weaken the boss by using:

1. Firearms - We recommend using a submachine gun or rifle with a good rate of fire. Aim for the mutator's chest to make the Reubenator lose health points very quickly.
2. Fury mode - It is best to activate it as soon as it is ready to make the fight as short as possible.

You don't have to defeat the other zombies in the room. Focus on the boss, as defeating the Reubenator will end the final battle.
