November 20, 1996

The first official expansion pack to Sid Meier's Civilization II. Conflicts in Civilization Scenarios is a set of twenty new scenarios. Interestingly, for those twenty scenarios only twelve were made by the developers. The remaining eight were created by the fans in the built-in map editor. Many of the scenarios proposed by the Microprose developers refer to historical conflicts, e.g. American Civil War, Alexander the Great's conquests, crusades or World War I. Players can also try out some futuristic scenarios - stopping an alien invasion or restoring the planet after a nuclear war. In terms of gameplay the game remains the same - turn-based strategy focused on the development of cities, recruiting an army, waging wars, and on cultural and economic advancement of a given nation. All of this so our civilization can rise above the others. Additionally, Sid Meier's Civilization II: Conflicts in Civilization Scenarios comes with new pieces of music.

As previously, the players must focus not only on the expansion of their cities, technological advancement, and the creation of a proper political system, but also diplomatic relations with other countries and world exploration. Along with the standard in-game content of the base game, Sid Meier's Civilization II: Multiplayer Gold Edition comes with the 39 scenarios from the Fantastic Worlds and Conflicts in Civilization expansions. Seven people can play in multiplayer mode through LAN, Internet, or on one computer in the hotseat mode.

Heroes Chronicles: Conquest of the Underworld is the second game in the spin-off miniseries of the well-known turn-based strategy game series. Conquest of the Underworld's gameplay is based on the simplified mechanics from the fan favorite iteration - Heroes of Might and Magic III. Once again, we play as Tarnum, who, this time, is sent by the Ancestors to aid queen Allison of Erathia. To save her father from the titular Underworld, Tarnum has to join forces with the dark demon Deezelisk. Not everything goes according to the plan, and in the end we will have to face Deezelisk himself. In terms of gameplay, Conquest of the Underworld is very much similar to the series' main games. However, Conquest offers only a rather short single player campaign, without the possibility to play individual scenarios. The game also has no multiplayer options.
